The A10 leadership should be criticized endlessly for their inability to reschedule games

If Duke, Wichita State, Michigan State and Louisville all get in and the Bills don’t I am sending each committee member a strongly worded email.

Why have the NET? 70 Michigan State and 72 Wichita State are IN. Welcome to Conference Slotting 101. Oh we know the NCAA denies that. There are a lot of bridges out there for bids from those who believe that denial.

This week has been the biggest roller coaster of emotions. My 2 year old daughter keeps telling me and her daycare teachers that "the Billikens are going dancing". She has no idea what it means but I won't have the heart to tell her if they aren't.

This season should have been so much more. So people have plenty of reason to be disappointed in our current predicament. Last season this would have been a pretty damn good spot to be in. This season it is a flat out let down. Maybe for once in my lifetime the basketball god’s will give us a gift and give the program a chance to redeem the season with an unlikely bid. We deserve those gods’ favor at least one time instead of disfavor they have constantly have bestowed upon us.

Goodwin would have signed with the Illini Groce would have continued to flounder for an additional season or two. The iIllini Rebuilding would have started at least one season later and Goodwin could have possibly played in zero tournament games.

I’m torn about that now. Going in to the season and with our talent we should be a 20 NET kinda team. But the team that couldn’t beat a Hyland-less VCU and that got walked by St. Bonnie......that isn’t a 20 NET team.

Irrespective of well intentions, A10 moving up A10 Tourney 1 week really hurt SLU, as did the change of venue to Richmond, VA. I am so done with this A10 vis-a-vis SLU. While I’m not ready to advocate SLU moving to the MVC, not yet, the MVC received the same number of NCAA bids as the A10- 2 each. A key attraction of the A10 for SLU was the A10 was supposed to be a multi-bid league. Well, it was today, barely, with 2, the same number as the other 3 conferences in the Group of 4- WCC, MVC and MW. If SLU had been in the Valley, SLU would have likely been IN the NCAA because SLU is better than Drake, and likely would have defeated Drake head to head. As is, the A10 advanced its Tournament precluding SLU from playing 2 needed games and denying SLU its last chance at a road win against a good team. SLU was also robbed at VCU in the Ted “TV” Valentine delayed “foul” call that literally handed VCU the Win. SLU needs to air some significant grievances with the Atlantic 10 Conference. If you don’t speak up, you’ll just keep getting the shaft.

I'm a alumnus ('83) and follow this board all the time and appreciate the wisdom of the regular participants (WIZ, you're the best!). I haven't logged in for well over 10 years. I've never been more PO'd than I am this year. One of the best teams we've had in my lifetime and a goofy virus (COVID) and a persistent virus (NCAA) relegates us to the infamous NIT. I'll watch and hope they win the damned thing, but I am truly upset.

The problem with the journalists is that they have fallen into the sam flawed model used in college football. They decided to make a projected bracket before conference tournaments started and then dropping or raising team's positions after each time they play. What they should be doing is completely reassessing the body of work each day. It's why CSU gets great credit for beating UNI and SLU gets no credit for beating LSU. Journalists weren't talking about LSU 2 weeks ago. Go look at that win now. In football a team ranked at the beginning of the year moves up if they don't lose, despite who they play.

I agree. Sometimes that allure from high majors is to strong for these young men. Hopefully Cam takes time to evaluate each option and talks to the right people. He's a good kid...I wish the best for him.

Having Phil on the squad definitely helps because they are pretty close friends. If Ford can convince Cam he has as good of a chance of going pro at SLU than anywhere else...I think SLU's chances are as good as anyone else's. This is just my opinion. I haven't heard any news at the moment.

I don't get why Drake seems to be a lock looking at the brackets. They played 8 Q1 and Q2 games but against 3 teams. Our 8 Q1 and Q2 games were against 7 different teams. Our BPI, Kenpom, Sagarin, Avg Net win, and Avg net loss all better than theirs. I just don't get why they seem to be safe.

No. Fletcher was in tears during a game in the midst of Kentucky's losing streak because he wanted to help stop the bleeding but couldn't get on the floor. He's a competitor that's used to winning and felt helpless. He was never under any illusion of being one and done. Most of the Kentucky fanbase thought Cal was wrong for throwing him under the bus. They saw Fletcher's heart was in the right place. Cal has had nothing but glowing words to say since Fletcher came back from suspension.
