  3. This weekend is going to be a challenge. We play Southeastern Louisiana for a three game series and play Tulane on Monday. SeLa is really good. They have a 12-6 record and have beaten Fullerton, East Carolina and last night Tulane. They were up on #2 LSU by 2 in the 9th, gave up 3 runs and lost a heartbreaker 4-3. SeLa is in Hammond, about an hour north of New Orleans. We are going to head there after work on Friday. A long weekend in The Big Easy never hurt anyone. Southeastern and Tulane will be the 12th and 13th parks I have seen the Bills play. Yeah Im sicko, I track this stuff. Billiken Sports Complex St. Louis, MO TR Hughes Ballpark St. Charles, MO JL Johnson Stadium Tulsa, OK Lake Point Sports Complex Emerson, GA Melching Field DeLand, FL Hoover Metropolitan Stadium Hoover, AL Lexington County Stadium Lexington, SC Centennial Park Port Charlotte, FL Minnesota Twins Spring Training Complex Fort Myers. 4. Sorry I wanted to see Tate or Harriman coaching. Want to support the players but If Travis wins a few games this is going to be really awkward. National media goes on and on about how Travis wins 20 games and I assume you heard the injury excuse during the broadcast. I want it over and the new coach announced. I've seen enough disappointment over the past however many years. Rip the band-aid off and let's go. Thanks Chris.

  5. I agree with this. Frank gives more attention to SLU than anyone else in the market. The over the top Ford cheerleading is ridiculous and annoying, but at the end of the day, I want him talking about SLU.

  7. You want the program to do well, yet change has to be made of the Coach. Do you root to have SLU make the dance?? Great SLU won today but its only delaying the inevitable… FWIW my vote is get to the dance and thank Ford on his way out. BTW - Be careful when the “Consultants” come in.

  13. Great game today for those of us lucky enough to know SLU baseball actually played at home against Mo State….who beat Southern Miss and Oral Robert’s this year already….not enough seats for the crowd. Mo State parents/fans saying same old stuff “why doesn’t slu have a stadium, how do they get kids to come here, this is terrible, etc, etc.” I went with a buddy who has a son playing on Mo state, he even said you have this awesome campus, arena and this is your baseball field, feels bad for players and coaches. He was dead serious. No espn+ streaming, no social media, no highlights posted, it’s just another reason why slu can’t afford to keep Chris May around any longer. If his idea of a stadium upgrade is putting down sod….what more do you need to know or say. Has had plenty of time to raise money, put a plan together for baseball and softball. Has done nothing. But he did hand out one of the dumbest contracts ever to Ford, hired two coaches and watched them tank tentpole program for entire department. It’s not a joke. Can you imagine if just half of the money SLU is going to pay Travis Ford to leave a job he has been terrible at, went towards building a real baseball D1 facility? It’s gross negligence in broad daylight! If slu hasn’t learned their lesson, and fire this wiener, they never will learn, place is doomed. Today was a glimpse of what entire place could/should be if we just had the right visionary AD and not some stuffed suit, insecure, moron running department with the judgement of the town yolkle and the charisma of lawn clippings from that freshly laid sod. Guy has to have pictures of Fred, Fran all BoT members and Jesuits as blackmail.

  14. Medley just came in at a bad time. If we were coming off an NCAA bid, his gradual progression into serviceable starting point guard would have been more appreciated. He's the second best passing freshman point guard in our program's history. Add some offense and he's another top flight Billiken point guard by his junior year.

  20. Whoever sent these doesn't deserve your discretion. Let the screenshots fly. This right here. Have some respect for what the fans have been put through. Don't really care if Travis coached the A10 games, but make it public that he would not be returning. With the portal and immediate eligibility, it's not like the players are up sh*t creek. Is it a distraction? Maybe. Are these players already thinking about what they are going to do after this year anyway? Yes. Go public with the separation. Let Billiken fans enjoy at least one week this season.

  27. The good news is Ford will be gone by tomorrow. The healing will begin. Frank is a good guy and has been overall very supportive of SLU, even before the Ford era I'm willing to forgive his over-the-top cheerleading of Ford. They are friends. If he isn't gone, then yeah....burn everything down (metaphorically)

  28. Listened to the segment. I like that Rammer acknowledged being close to the situation clouds one's objectivity. Also I agree with him, I'm not going to back peddle and be nice to Ford on the way out. Check my posts from 8 years ago, I thought he was the wrong choice. As for him being a nice guy? I don't really care. What I do know is that Travis Ford is completely full of sh#t and a complete fraud of a coach. He's been able to dupe multiple schools into thinking he can coach for years. I'll be glad when he's a footnote. As for Frank, I like the Leonard Little standard for STL Sports. If you're not Leonard Little you're alright. If we hire a guy whose name ends with a vowel Frank will be all in on SLU again.

  31. Much needed. Haven't been to Armory yet (probably because i'm not a 25 year-old that wears shin-high socks with tennis shoes) but the Foundry is such an amazing project. Walking through it, you get the sense you're in a proper city. The kids even love it. Took them to Puttshack and then to the food hall. Had a blast. Tons of stuff for all ages. The wife and I are checking out Gerard Craft's new speakeasy, located in the bowels of the Foundry, after dinner next week. None of the Above. As Bart Scott once eloquently stated, "Can't wait!"

Local NOLA outfit. You will also be in town for the St Pat’s parade down in the Irish Channel / Magazine Street. Damn, I envy you!!

  36. Pulling for SLU to beat SLU this weekend. You do a better job of selling this baseball team than SLU social media. Think I'm going to check out a game this season. I know it really doesn't matter who they're playing but is Cinci any good at ball? Thinking about checking out that series. Also, your location in Jacksonville has been ideal for this year's schedule. 60% of those series are within a 5.5 hour drive!

Make sure to get to Pascale’s Manale down on Napoleon for some oysters. Cherry Coffee just north of Tchopitoulas on the corner of Laurel and Upperline. Bring some cash for the trolley and Cafe du Mondé. Cash only! Laissez les bons temps rouler Bills!

  38. Agree which is why I think it makes more sense to direct this question to non-season ticket holders: assuming SLU actually makes the right* hire, will you purchase season tickets for this upcoming season? Matter of opinion but I think there are a few candidates out there that would please the vast majority of fans.

  40. I’d add Ezewiro to your keepers. He’s our only inside scoring threat right now. Keep Curcic. Every time he played we built a lead. LH is gonna stay because of dad. Plus his 3 pt shooting should improve. Medley came on. So I got 8 coming back. Add 5 in the portal. A true PF. A sharp shooting combo or 2. A bigger PG. A 5 that can pop from outside, ala Lowe. That’s a squad.

  41. As it stands now, I'd keep Thames, van Bussel, and Medley. And Jimerson if he comes back. Zhang can go. The epitome of his failings today were when he had the ball stripped and stolen second half above the key. Jesus man, you're seven feet tall, you hold the ball over your head and that's ten feet. Yer all year he's dropped it down to his hip where the gnats can get at it. Plus he can't hold onto a rebound much. Hughes is at best an 8th or 9th man. Legacy or not he's no PG. He's no shooting guard. And he gets beat constantly on defense. Ezewiro is lazy, fundamentally weak and still out of shape. Sure, he's all we got down low but a starving man will eat a can of dog food if he has to. Curcic can stay only if Hughes goes and vice a versa. Both are guards. Both are 8th or 9th men at best. I sincerely doubt Sincere is an option. Plus I don't think he can play a team concept and his defense is notoriously weak. That's three, maybe four guys. Plus the LOI signee. Eight more players needed to fill a roster of 13.

  42. A good win....Any win at this point of the season is a good win. We won this game because we did what we were supposed to do. First we look at the TOs...as always. But in this game ...especially ... the lead seemed to hinge on TOs. When we had the lead in TOs we had the lead in the game and when we lost the TO edge we lost the lead. So hear is how that went...We win the TO battle 9 to 11...This eliminates the auto loss. Evening the game up, we then need to win at least 1 of 2 categories...FG% and Rebs...surprise, we win both ...FG% 47.5 to 46.3...Rebs 35 to 33...winning both categories gave us an 80% chance to win the game. Let's look at my pre game posts ...Bolded statements from above... There was talk about making up the 16 pts from Parker. I mentioned that the extra pts and rebounds need to come from Ezewiro and Medley....From above...if they both have just average games, we add 10pts plus 8 rebs. Actual stats... we add an extra 11pts and 14 rebs...a big part of the win. We beat them at their place with a poor defensive game...We should be abled to beat them on a neutral floor. ...We did Bottom line.........Let's get EVEN better...That's what SLU needs to do...A win over the Rams....And we move on to round 2.... we did get EVEN better... It gets tougher now....let's keep it going.

Him and his staff have a vision for what they want the athletic department to be, and I think that their vision is largely stupid and a failure .

  48. I don't think 10 year old boys today hate the players or the coach of their favorite team. They root for their team. If the team isn't winning enough, they go play video games or something. They don't hyperfocus on all the flaws of an organization the way we do. This is an adult problem. It's why the worst behaving people at youth sporting events are adults, not children.
