  2. Great game to enjoy from behind the Billiken bench. I’m a bit beat after all the standing and jumping and yelling and sitting but made it home to my couch now watching reruns of Chopped. Hopefully baby comes tomorrow. Damn dude don’t you know not to say this to a pregnant lady???

  3. god that was sweet. feelings of beating Butler @ Hinkle.... the arrogance of some K State fans... youdda thought they were playing Maryville tonight.... no better feeling walking out of a crowed purple filled arena with a huge smile

  4. If someone has already said this, I apologize, but Jimmy Bell played well again today. He has impressed me defensively, hedging on screens, walling up, etc. And he made his free throws, and seems to be growing more and more each game overall

  5. I wanted this one for a lot of reasons, and the recruiting battle is maybe the biggest one. Great win.

  6. Even was a good call on this game....other than the first few minutes when the Bills got off to a great start this game was about as even as you could get. ...Score tied 14 times...lead changed hand 18 time....that is what is defined as even. Let's look at what happened . From my original post..... WWN2D2W....Stop Sneed and Diarra (their Diarra ...not ours)...hold them to less than 20 pts combined....Hold KSU to 66 pts...Dominate the boards by 9...win the TO battle....make some shots...48/36/ 56 Stop Sneed and Diarra...........Yes...17 pts combined ...excellent... Hold KSU to 66 pts..................Done...again excellent Dominate the boards by 9.......fail ...in fact we lost by 1...a good job by KSU Win the TO battle......................always one of my fav stats...Yes by 3 TOs...this was worth 6 pts....the difference in the game. Make some shots..48/36/56...Another yes....actual 51/36/60...it was so important to shoot decent...this was not a historic line ...this is what we needed to do to win ...and we did. 2 other important stats this game 2nd chance pts....we win 9-3...a difference maker.....also steals (see TOs above )..again we win 11-6 Also from my original post Bottom line...This will be a low scoring, frustrating and painful game because of missed shots and opportunities...However......I think we can gain the edge here..for the following 2 reasons....1) they have a couple of injuries...KSU is a team that can't afford to lose any players.... 2) ... the hidden stat....While these 2 evenly matched teams show an overall grade of B.....The trend line shows KSU as a C team....and the Blls as an A- team....translating into The Bills over KSU by 10. I think the key to the game was #2...the hidden stat...most forecasters...Vegas , team stats , ESPN etc just look at the overall stats plug them in to the computer and come out around even....but the trend line (which is important because we are a young and improving team) is most important the BIlls...in this case the Bills were trending up and KSU was trending down. KSU played very well tonight ...above their head on the slash line....they made an extra two 3's (44%) and an extra 5 FTs (87%)=11 extra pts....I would argue that if KSU had a "normal" night...we would have won not by 10...but would have blown them out by 14 pts. This was a great win. The game learning experiences of SH and Aub paid off tonight....a tight game in hostile territory and the BIlls didn't crack. If Thatch is able to return (which it looks like he will soon ) plus we continue to grow and improve....things could look bright in the coming weeks.

  7. his free throw stroke looked very smooth, cant have everything 12 games into your freshman year. I like to look at what he has rather than look at what he doesnt. take away his 4 pts. the bills might lose

  8. Listened to the radio broadcast. At one point, on a terrible call, the refs gave Rammer and Earl a warning for their reaction to it. To that, Rammer screamed several times, “No, you’re on warning. You’re on warning.” I hope someone who knows what they’re doing can find that audio for everyone.

  11. Last night KState played French and JGood like most teams will; clog the inside with 3 big bodies. This is why the loss of Jimerson hurts. However, Perkins, Weaver, Jacobs, and even Hargrove can make life a little easier for our 2 leaders by hitting those outside jumpers. French should also start to think about kicking the ball out on his drives to the hoop. This will open him up more as well if a man leaves him to defend the shooter.

  13. It was a really bad call. I didn’t agree with all the ref bashing in the Auburn game, but last night’s game had some really questionable moments.

  18. For a guy listed as 6'4, Hargrove doesn't some to be giving up much height to KState's big frontline. I'm calling BS on Ford's listing for Hargrove.

  19. The old guy will tell you that Jimerson's was a fracture that allowed full weight bearing on the injured foot. Welmer's was a non weight bearing injury indicating involvement of the Tibia or Talus and possibly the Fibula as well. Not so with Jimerson. I am positive that Jimerson's injury did not involve the Calcaneous or the small ankle bones because these would have also been non weight bearing injuries. Add to it the chances for surgical treatment of a fracture of the small bones of the ankle is very low, unless the aim of the surgery is to fuse the ankle which would not allow him to play again. From all we know by what we have seen of him walking around in the boot, if there was a fracture it was of the metatarsals or the toes. The only one of these two that makes surgery to deal with surgically is a metatarsal fracture, and it would be simply treated by pinning. He could have been allowed to heal without the pinning but pinning the thing might result in a stronger better aligned repair of the bone. Since I believe he wants to keep on playing he might have opted for the pinning in an elective bassis Of the other possibilities I listed before, this is neither a soft tissue injury, nor a greenstick fracture. None of these are treated surgically. Therefore, by exclusion I think a metatarsal fracture is the most likely case here. I think the chances for a full recovery are excellent, and I think the chances of a recurrence are very low to nil. Clock I made the tentative diagnosis of a soft tissue injury based upon observation. Now that we know he had surgery we can discard these diagnosis (soft tissue and greenstick fractures). We can also discard non weight bearing injuries and non surgically treatable injuries. There is not much left in terms of surgically treatable foot fractures after discarding all of these options.

  28. What a team win! 31 points from the bench. You want to talk balanced scoring? How about this...we had guys with 4, 5, 7, 8,9,10,11,12 points. Free throws 15-25 but French and Goodwin went a combined 3-10. The rest of the team is rounding into form. Big win!!!

  29. As it turns out I listened to the game. We won, and judging by what Earl was saying we were fighting two opponents, the Wildcats and the Refs. We still won. We won despite the fact that K State had more rebounds than we did, we won without Thatch and without Jimerson. Hargrove the player that many on the board minimized after going against a D2 team (Maryville), went today against a tough D1 team and scored in the double figures. A wonderful victory this one that allows us to end the OOC (not counting Maryville) at what I assume will be 10-2 after beating the last team in the OOC schedule. A good platform to start playing the conference side of the season. Great night, this one. All the best to everyone and Merry Christmas.

  38. Randy Karraker tweeted out a link to an article from 2008 about the Chiefs receiving $25M in tax credits for moving their training facility back to MO. I'm too lazy follow up on that article so not sure what type of tax credits they were or whether or not they ended up receiving them. A few things I found interesting from the article: The board voted 10-0 to approve the credits This was in 2010 during the economic downturn This came 2 years after the Chiefs received $50M in credits for Arrowhead Chiefs would only use the facility for a few weeks each August but since it's being built on Missouri Western's campus, the school could use it the rest of the year My favorite part of the article: The $25M award in credits exceeded the annual cap so they needed to get approval from the directors of the DOR and DED. Sounds like the entire state bent over backwards to hand the Chiefs this money. https://www.twincities.com/2008/12/16/missouri-board-approves-25m-tax-breaks-for-chiefs/

  39. This has been fixed. We didn't realize that ESPN was switching teams around and the net ranking never got overwritten because they weren't D1. We are now flushing the cache before every import.

  40. 3. Goodwin is the first Billiken in 30 years to register six consecutive double-doubles. Anthony Bonner in 1989-90 (twice) is the only other Billiken to do so. No Billiken has ever recorded seven straight double-doubles (dating back to 1985-86 season). That's some high cotton. Also, if this game is truly looked at as an Away game rather than a Neutral Site game, it will help our NET with a win. With KSU at 121, this would be a Q2 Away game, rather than a Q3 Neutral game.
