  1. My Dad was diagnosed with dementia back in 2016. We've been able to make to almost all of the games since then but, his health has been deteriorating. We have seats for weekend home games this season. He likes being able to see people, even if he can't remember who they are. We'll be there this afternoon ready to watch the Bills STOMP ON SOME THROATS

  3. I have faith that Bess knows whether he is really injured or not. He stayed on the court; I’m not worried.

  4. After last season's beatdown there, it sure feels good to win this one. 6-1, 2-0 against the Big East.

  5. My dog was still all kinds of fired up this morning when he woke up! My 6 year old asked me when he went to sleep last night if we could watch the replay of the game in the morning. Obviously he's being raised correctly!

  6. Coach said that was the best team defensive performance he's seen in his career as a head coach. Said Bess is the best defender in the country.

  7. Chaifetz was great. The gold standard is still the Dayton Mardi Gras game. I really like Thatch's game. Reminds me of a McCall/Jett hybrid.

  8. It's kinda hard to hear them over all the bricks they threw up tonight. It was a symphony of clang.

  13. What a great game....great atmosphere ...great effort....But went 8 min 11sec without a pt....great defense. First let's look at WWN2D2W...Stop Baldwin and Jorgenson and we win......hold them to 15 and 14 pts....we did and we did...6 and 9 pts....we picked up 14pts right here on the spread....slash was pretty much on target...we needed 2 more FTs to make 70%...and FT shooting was good down the stretch when it counted....also we had twice as many FTA as But and out scored them at the line by 7 pts...Headline could have been....Bills beat But at charity line....That is a shocker. ...Blks...8-1...Bills favor......11 But TOs in the 1st half exceed their top rated game ave.of 10.5 /gm........Out rebound them....check....Low scoring game ....130 or less, the lower the better.......Check and check...score 66pts....close enough...The answer of yes to the question of ...was our D better than their O ...was correct....if you need further proof here is the But slash....28/17/ 80....great D It wasn't all rainbows and sunshine......We had 19 TOs....unacceptable.... if we cut it down by 5 to have an even TO differential ...that would have been an additional 10 pts for a blowout. We had 8 steals which normally is great except we gave up 9 stls...plus on 8 fast breaks we only got 2 pts....again unacceptable.....so what do these items mean? It means even though we beat an A team soundly , we can do better....there is more potential. Bottom line....If we continue to play like this and fix the weak spots.... there will be a lot more celebrating in the future. BTW....make sure to check the Bills report card under Defense in the SIU spread thread when I post it....it will be a good one...think Honor Roll

  14. Having watched enough minutes of Thatch against Power 6 teams, I love his future. His defense and intensity reminds me of Jimmy Butler. He is only a freshman, and has a lot of time to develop a good shot and accumulate enough offensive skills to play in the NBA. How good was Jimmy Buckets at Marquette his first year? Thatch defense is so tough right now that Coach Ford can afford to play him minutes while he develops an offensive game. The future is so bright for Thatch, he's gotta wear shades!

  15. Hey guys! I know, I know...long time and all. Some of you that were on the board a few years ago during the NCAA run may remember West Pine Jim. He was a fairly regular poster who would usually attend watch parties and road trip games. He even went to a few OBC lunches. (Oops, we're not supposed to talk about OBC. My bad.) Well, over the past couple of seasons, his health has taken an unfortunate downturn and he's now confined to a wheelchair. But despite his poor health, he still makes sure to attend Billikens games. For those who've met Jim and/or engaged with him on the board, I think he'd really appreciate it if you stopped by and said hi this season. Typically, he has been watching from the the accessible area in Section 122 this year. Again, I'm sure that small gesture would be appreciated by an extremely dedicated Bills fan and one of the nicest posters this board has ever seen.

  17. Back from Chaifetz and what a game it was! They were expected to win by 3 pts (Vegas), instead they lost by 12! We started ahead, then lost the lead for a good portion of the first half, but regained it before the half. We stayed ahead for the rest of the game. This was a defense win, we plainly outplayed them and kept them to a very low % of field goals. It was not flawless, we had our troubles with FTs and I think they may have out rebounded us. However we played that defense in a spectacular and very physical manner. Had a lot of steals and blocks, also assists. Our team played like a team, they were just outplayed by us. I hope the Butler board has fun eating the crap they were talking about us. Now, onto new things, we are doing just great!.

  19. "I’ve said before that Missouri’s ideal 2020 class is Caleb Love, Cam’Ron Fletcher, Josh Christopher and a big. I used to say Isaiah Jackson of Detroit could be that last big. I think Bradford replaces Jackson in MU’s ideal 2020 class. Aside from Christopher, who lives in Los Angeles, the staff barely has to leave the state for a top-10 class if they get all four or even three of them." Right, and I've said before that my dream job is having a billion dollars land on my porch so I can retire today. Why even write a sentence like that?

  20. It was only at the end of the game when Isabell was bringing the ball up by himself. Butler started pressing much earlier and we beat it by passing. My guess is that they wanted the ball in a good FT shooter at the end.

  21. Why Travis should put him there full time. Drives me nuts to see him off in the corner just waiting around to get in the mix for a rebound or loose ball. Isabell has never been a PG and he ain't gonna be one in the NBA. Put him at the 2 where he's always been and let's see what he does there. Let Jacobs back up JGood.

  23. He will be a freshman - we all remember what a freshman pg looks like even when they are McCall, Jett and Mitchell. Be patient with him he will need some time to adjust.

  29. The Butler board is a fun read if anyone is interested. Bunch of little babies over there. Lots of posts referring to us as a "middle of the road D1 program" and saying we have no chance at an A10 title. Never seen such poor losers. Wonder if HoosierPal cried after this game... ROLL BILLZ.

  31. I know I was drinking a lot before and during the game, but the crowd in the first half was the most raucous that I can remember at Chaifetz. That place was just waiting to explode. You could definitely feel the energy in the building. Haven't felt that since the days at the Arena with the early to mie 90s teams. What an awesome atmosphere.

  33. I second what johnbj14 said. It was a real pleasure to meet the people I did meet at the fieldhouse. It was the perfect day to do this, reasonably warm for the nice walk that was required from the parking lot and lots of friendly people at the fieldhouse to talk with. My wife and I had a very nice time.

  40. When WestPineJim first showed up on this board, my first thought was that he won the prize for the best screen name ever used here. My second thought was disbelief that no one had thought of it sooner; so brilliant and so simple. My third thought was that I wish I were named Jim and as clever as him. Had this thread been last week, I'd have stopped by to pay my respects to such a great guy. From a couch in Cincinnati, cheers to Jim, and bring us a winner today!

  42. Read the Butler board a little more and revising my prediction. Bills by 26. Goodwin, CAG and Tremaine with triple doubles. 3 Butler players will decide not to play after they recognize French as the werewolf he is. The morans from French Lick or Terra Haute or whatever godforsaken cornfield they're from will go back crying and their sisters will divorce them. Thanks to this ass-whoopin, Butler will decide to fold its bball program effective Jan. 1, 2019. SLU takes Butler's spot in the Big East.
