Some of you that were on the board a few years ago during the NCAA run may remember West Pine Jim. He was a fairly regular poster who would usually attend watch parties and road trip games. He even went to a few OBC lunches. (Oops, we're not supposed to talk about OBC. My bad.) Well, over the past couple of seasons, his health has taken an unfortunate downturn and he's now confined to a wheelchair. But despite his poor health, he still makes sure to attend Billikens games. For those who've met Jim and/or engaged with him on the board, I think he'd really appreciate it if you stopped by and said hi this season. Typically, he has been watching from the the accessible area in Section 122 this year. slu72 Posted December 1, 2018 Share Posted December 1, 2018 I met Jim on my one and only trip to the Fetz. We lost to Temple. But Jim and I tipped a few at Humphs before the game. Since we were in school at the same time, we shared some memories. Great guy. Jim I wish the best for you. Have missed you on here. We've been able to make to almost all of the games since then but, his health has been deteriorating. We have seats for weekend home games this season. He likes being able to see people, even if he can't remember who they are. Pistol Posted December 1, 2018 Share Posted December 1, 2018 When WestPineJim first showed up on this board, my first thought was that he won the prize for the best screen name ever used here. My second thought was disbelief that no one had thought of it sooner; so brilliant and so simple. My third thought was that I wish I were named Jim and as clever as him. Had this thread been last week, I'd have stopped by to pay my respects to such a great guy.
