  1. Apologies if this has been brought up in another thread, but SLU really needs to do it's senior night activities before the game next Tuesday. A few reasons: - It's an 8'oclock start which means there is plenty of time to do it before the game. And it's kind of late for most Billiken fans after the game. Even in the best of times, I don't want my kids out till 10:30 or later. - We are playing Dayton and will almost certainly lose and probably get blown out. After the game is never fun when you lose and if it's like last night, 2/3 of the fans that show up will have already left. It's a safe bet that there will be more Dayton fans in Chaifetz at the end of the game than Billiken ones. - As angry as we all are with the coaching, players such as T.J., Gibson, etc. deserve a good send-off.

  2. Highlight of the game for me was the national anthem performance by the Impact Church singers. That was AMAZING. I am usually super patriotic but I was proud to be an American after listening to that rendition.

  3. -I saw on the video board yesterday was the birthday of TJH's father, who it appeared looked to be at the game, I think that could have been announced but okay if not -TJH scores is 1,000 point and this is not announced? that is gross negligence -GibJim sets a 3pt record and that is not announced? that is gross incompetence -my gosh I hope there are major changes

  4. I think they could hold him under 40. But that’s only because Clagget is 50 years old.

  8. I've been listening for 3 minutes and Schertz made it very easy to understand what offense he runs. He runs the offense through the 5. He understands that guys at that position who can pass, dribble and shoot don't grow on trees. Curious as to what his roster construction would look like if he doesn't have a 5 to build around. I don't enjoy watching the NBA but I do like that Jokic is making the passing/shooting big man fashionable again.

  9. Getting back to the task at hand. At this moment (which hopefully will change) Blake Ahearn will be our next coach. Please direct me to someone I can beg at SLU to wait till the season is over and at least interview Ben McCollum the monday after he wins another D-2 title. Ahearn will be there no matter what.

  11. Indeed. Had my annual physical yesterday and my blood pressure was high so I have to go back again in 2 weeks to have it rechecked. I put 99% blame on the Billikens and 1% on my excessive drinking, lack of sleep, and marriage to salt.

  12. i was really rooting for medley and dlarry might be right, but there is no defending his inconsistency and some of his turnovers. and honestly i think he is better than meadows. the two together imo are the worst point guard combo we've had in my fandom. can medley get better? sure. but he sure isnt really contributing this year. thames is a tremendous athlete. unfortunately, as i have said before, this isnt the decathlon. it's basketball and he makes an awful lot of fundamental and boneheaded mistakes. i am pretty sure he leads the team in unforced stepping out of bounds. and some of his fouls are atrocious. as a second year player, one would think a lot of the fundamental and unforced mistakes he still makes would be over. granted he sat out the majority of last year, but he sure didnt learn much sitting and observing. still he could end up being a tremendous player. shame no one is coaching him up.

  13. Completely wrong. This isn’t wether or not you’d storm the beaches knowing how much Dutch a$$ you’d get if you make it out alive. I’d take 3 more NCAA tournaments in a row in the same exact scenario without question. We’ll deal with finding a new coach when it comes around with 3 years of NCAA credits on the books.

  15. You would have thought a normal athletic department would hype up a player being three 3's away from breaking the all-time school record. In fact, you would have thought they'd be hyping this up for weeks. Probably a tracker graphic every game. I didn't know this was a thing until yesterday.

  17. I still have some faith. You don't pay the 10+ million dollar buyout and take someone as risky as Ahearn or that's going to be a complete Ford retread like a Weber or Crean. I feel like they will go full steam ahead towards getting a proven commodity. I have faith in the Chaifetz and other boosters to make a full run at Mack, Moser, and Holtmann rather than jumping at Ahearn who no one else is going after and appears to begging for the job. They aren't as dumb as the people on this board are making them seem.

  18. Comfortable win after they ran away with the second quarter. Julia Martinez had her second career triple-double. Could be the fact that their A10 schedule was front-loaded but this team is playing better down the home stretch, just in time for another A10 Tournament run.

  21. A few players, including Davion Bradford, have already hit the portal, but transfer season will crank up soon as teams get eliminated from conference tournaments. New this year, players will only have 45 days to enter the portal from the moment the regular season ends, which is March 17, as opposed to the 60 day window of the past. Players will have until May 1 to enter their name in the portal.

  25. I’m with you. I’ve really liked Medley this year. Is he overmatched at times? Definitely. This was suppose to be a learning year. 10 minute per game or so and he was thrown into the fire. I think he will be a valuable member of a god team by his junior year.

  27. Absolutely, there will be a ton of red. Then, SLU can talk about the best attendance of the year, disregarding the blowout loss. We should hire Baghdad Bob as a PR consultant.

  29. if SLU had a decent team that would have been a fun game last night; officials were extremely lax on both ends of the floor and allowed a lot of defense and physical play. Last night really showed Ezewiro's limitations. At the start of the game he is very tough and gets some nice offensive plays and at least is "there" on defense. He has the worst stamina of any player at any level I've ever seen. I think Big Cozy can last longer on the court than Brad. It has to be some kind of health issue(pure speculation) .. i can't fathom this just being a strength & conditioning thing. Once Ezewiro is tired and we have to put Zhang in we just absolutely suck on the interior. Parker makes little difference honestly as the guys can shoot with or without him. He just does the same thing Jimerson et al. do. He still can't play defense. Thames is an incredible athlete but a horrible basketball player. ZERO skills or technique. Medley is the worst guard we have ever brought to SLU; he is the Brett Jolly of point guards; it's not all on the stat lines. I've never seen a guy get beat off the dribble every. single. time. like he does. Just has to go, head to NAIA young man. If Harris Stowe still played he could maybe play there, would still be getting beaten like a drum off the dribble drive. Billikens suck. Fire Ford now. Post article was ridiculous; of course Mooney wants us to keep CTF so he can keep racking up wins. Get ready for Anthony Grant to tell us how great Ford is and how we need to keep him. Haha.

  30. The band numbers also reflect this decline. I remember my first games in 2013/2014 that the student/band section would often be so full that it was like sardines. We were LOUD.

  32. This is my question. Guys, how many times have we talked about SLU Athletics running with the secrecy of North Korea. So are we not going to question why "Ahearn is the favorite" seems like the worst kept secret in Billiken History?

  36. Triple double watch for Jordan. 5 points 8 boards 8 assists in 26 minutes played. Four minutes left in the third quarter. Ironically enough, local St. Louis people cannot watch the grizzlies game because the SLU game is on in the grizzlies slot.

  44. My worry on Ahearn is that he'll be hired for the wrong reasons and have the wrong expectations. If they hire him because they think he'll focus a lot on St Louis recruits and he'll have a team of predominantly local guys then he's going to be set up to fail. You won't win with a team like that and the boosters who hired you will be mad if you win with other guys. If you hire him because you think he can develop players with his NBA experience and he can run a modern offensive system, you still may not win but at least you're thinking progressively
