What a bunch of whiny *******! This was a cap tipper game- UAB has some really nice talent and they beat us. Move on and get better.

I’ve put on a couple Covid pounds.

That's just sour grapes. UAB out-rebounded SLU. Lot of balls that bounced their way. A couple more bounces going SLU's way and the final score would have been different .... a SLU win. Just learn from this game and get better.

It was a very competitive game. I thought both teams played well. At the speed the game is played there are always turnovers, missed assignments and mistakes. I thought the better team won. If we play them 10 games, they will beat us 6 or 7 times.

This team is probably better than every Soderberg team FWIW. I know that is not a great standard but pointing out how things have been much worse. With some depth on the roster we should be contenders for the A10 tourney champ. Which, if you have been following the team the last few years, is the only way to guarantee a Big Dance bid.

This loss was a team, including coaching staff, effort. To single out one or two players doesn't cut it.

Offense runs better with Jones right now. Yuri was not good today.

This game could've been held in front of a record Hermann crowd with decent weather and a perfectly functioning, high-quality ESPN+ stream. Just saying.

Yuri needs to fix some things, but he isn’t why we lost this game.

One thing different about Yurimania in these last 5-6 games he’s driving the ball into the forest and losing it like a FR PG. I don’t know why he’s doing it.

I think best first half on O we’ve played. D worked hard, but they got some players. I don’t think zone or man matters. I think the keys are limit the TOs and keep pushing it on em. Oh, and stop their 2nd chances.

When Ford sees the other team getting so many second chances, why not play Linssen and Okoro together plus keep Nesbitt, TJ, and either Yurimania or Jones at the PG? Maybe even let Nesbitt run the point and keep Jimerson in. That way we have our best board guys in the game. I found myself screaming more at their second chances than I did at missed open shots. Although I cried a little when Gibby missed on that wide open 3. If our bigs aren’t in foul trouble, and we’re having trouble collecting D rebounds the two posts together makes sense. I said at the end we lost because of our lousy D board work. Way too many second chance points beat us.

The offensive rebounds killed us. I don’t think that’s a super hot take. But the good news is, the things we’re struggling with are absolutely fixable. Most of rebounding is just effort. 4 years of JGood proves that. Ball watching and not boxing out. Running out before we get possession. We can fix that stuff. Something tells me, practice today ain’t gonna be real fun. But our offense, our athleticism, things you can’t teach, are absolutely there. And I’m certain that this team is going to continue to get better as the season goes on. If you would’ve told me when Perk went down that we’d be 7-2 with our only losses coming against Memphis and UAB, I would’ve taken it and never looked back. Sure, we’ve got some things that need cleaning up, but can anybody really say that this team hasn’t, at the very least, lived up to expectations without Perkins? I actually really like where the team is at right now.

We were in this game stat wise. Wash converted on their two moments and we didn’t. I wish Parker’s shot hadn’t been saved. Huge save by the keeper.

I will try and rewatch. I need to see if I can understand the subbing down the stretch Ford attempted. Twice we had 4 guys on the floor in crunch time. It looked awful and out of control from in the stands.

Tough loss. We did pretty much what we needed to do to win...Pretty much but not all. Out rebound them ...This was an issue in the last game with BSU ...we are clearly the better offensive team. But if we let them out rebound us , they get 2nd and 3rd chances and we lose our offensive edge. Out rebound them by 4+...And this was it...a fail that cost us the game...They out rebounded us and like I said in this phrase ...we lost our offensive advantage. We shot a 49% FG %...They shot 48.4% FG% ...They made 7 extra shots on 15 extra FGA...many of those were on 2nd chance shots as a result of snagging extra rebounds. Bottom line....We were leading the with 6:07 left in the game. 2 1/2 mins later we were down 9. We played winning basketball for 37 1/2 mins. The problem was it was a 40 min game. I stand by my original statement... we are the better team...but we gave them a 2nd chance (rebound) to win.

Linssen is the problem on second chance points. He might be the worst rebounder in the country his size.

I've tried to take the attitude that without Perkins, any success we have is icing on the cake. In other words, I'm trying not to get too down on losses and treat the wins as gravy. That said, I'm disappointed in Yuri's play and I don't know what I expected out of Okoro, but he just can't seem to get the ball over the rim in any kind of traffic. Now, he does get fouled and has been a pleasant surprise at the line but I think we'll have trouble with tall teams.

This was not a bad loss guys. UAB is good and the game was close. Jimerson makes that open look and it’s a different story. So long as he isn’t badly injured, nothing to be upset about

You are correct. There is no excuse for that bad of a drubbing on the offensive boards.

UAB winning 15 offensive rebounds to our 5 is the key factor in this loss.
