  7. I picture him getting up early every year on his wife's birthday, emptying her jewelry box into the garbage disposal, turning it on, walking outside and just lying facedown in the backyard until the cops get there. Like whose fault is it - his wife for putting up with that over and over, or Crews for being an absolute nihilist?

  11. This outfit lasted ten minutes before a blowout. Hopefully it’s foreshadowing of what we do to VCU.

  12. The last 5 min of slow down worked just like it was supposed to. We preserved a big lead and an 18 point win

  14. First off they wouldn’t be back court they would be front court. Second, you don’t know who would want to knock Gordons block off. The chemistry on this team is so tight. Weaver extols how much he likes this group of guys. You are waaaay off, dude

  15. I love it! Throw that ball down. Disrespect the opponent. Act like we own this home court.

  17. SLU's record when Collins has: 7 or more assists: 6-0 6 or more assists: 9-1 5 or more assists: 12-3 Good things happen when YC is moving the ball well.

  19. My preferences: Dayton needs to take down Duquesne so we can get past them in the standings. They have our tiebreaker, so we would still need to climb over them in the last 4 games. Rhody can help us by beating Davidson, again the Wildcats have the tiebreaker over the Bills. Give them 7 losses and put them behind us. I will assume we can't catch the Spiders. So an L by St. B would be helpful for us as we look to our match-up with them next month.

  20. Interesting no one has mentioned the refs in last night’s game. Twice my son and I said ‘Good no foul call’ , one of those the flop by SS. We were waiting for the typical A10 second half foul circus, but it never materialized. I thought a couple of times Yuri driving to the basket was like a FB crashing through the line in a football game, but otherwise seemed to be called fairly. Stu said the T was on the coach, box score said Evans. Is a flagrant foul automatically classified as a T? mhg

  21. The list is pretty long....started with relatively current alums like Crawford and Welmer, continued through Eckerle, Highmark, Liddell, Q Dillard, Pedersen, Jeff and Stan Luechtefeld, then on through Lenard, Gray, Douglass, Wiley, Rogers and more from the 1970's an 1960's. They ended with a player, which I am embarrassed to say I missed his name, who is 97 years old and fought in WWII. Joanne, long time assistant to the Staff was there too. I didn't count, but there were maybe 50 former Billikens honored. Please, others who were there, add to the list.

  22. The basketball team has had enough turmoil and turnover the past few years. We don't need anymore of that and certainly shouldn't mess with the strong chemistry we finally have, esp amongst the St Louis guys and esp for a young, maturing team. CG was a thorn in the side to everyone in the program when he was here. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because he was so young, but he also hasn't shown he's taken any significant strides from the point he was at when he arrived.

  23. This wasn’t a great matchup for Weaver. Beating VCU is all about being strong w the ball and then finishing at the rim. Weaver is too small & not a good enough ball handler for the press and his game is mostly shooting 3s, not scoring at the rim. There are definitely games we need him. This was not one of them.

  25. I'm with ya. At least occasionally especially when matchup dictates with teams like Davidson. That's how we got that lead during that first half against umass. Get alot of open 3s too.

  26. Felt so good to bash them guys. Great atmosphere. Awesome game. We can play with anyone when they make us run. It's the slow teams that give us trouble. Hopefully Ford utilizes that press with Hargrove on top again. Roll Bills

  30. They showed the replay and he actually got fouled on the dunk with the Has dish. And, that play was created by Yuri pushing the ball up court to Has quickly

  36. Someone has to correct French's rigid jutted out @ss on his FTs. Using just arms on FTs is damn near impossible even for good shooters. Gotta get the legs involved and a fluid, repetitive motion.

  37. 9 first half assists for Collins. Record is 18 by Jim Roder in 1987. Next most is 14. He's shaking anyone who's on him--gotta keep him aggressive driving and looking to create.

  41. Huge game in terms of A10 tournament seeding. If we win we have tiebreaker over VCU. Davidson has a tough schedule so this could be the difference between being a contender for 4-6 seed or 7-8

  43. What I don't get is the feeling that we are going to be much better next year, at least in the A 10, than we are this year. Ya, maybe top 4, but not likely to be picked any higher than that. Lots of league teams coming back loaded next year. Now, add a 3 pt sniper to go along with Jimerson and I will start to feel more optimistic VCU, URI, Duq, Richmond and even UMASS might all be rated higher than us and of course, SVU is always over-rated. I'm not saying that we can't win the A 10 next year, I'm just saying that it's not even close to being a cakewalk, even if we are better just with the additions of GJ and Fred. Let's just not assume an NCAA bid as a given next year, it will still be an ujphill climb.

  44. Because Flowers has been really bad this year. She gets by on her length alone. Flowers also isn’t strong enough to bang in the post.
