Scoop Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I don't like non D1 games on the schedule as I never go to them. It sucks to have 2 on the schedule. I'll watch those at home and not pay for $12 beers. brianstl 1 Quote

Pistol Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The UNLV game is the return of the game they were supposed to play at UNLV last season that was cancelled due to the campus shooting there. I'm not sure whether they're going to go back out there in the future or not. Northwestern is the return game of a home-and-home that started in Evanston last season. Marquette is game one of a home-and-home that was just announced this summer. It's impressive what they're doing with scheduling, no question. These are exactly the kind of series I'd like to see us getting. Quote

TheA_Bomb Posted August 15 Posted August 15 On the bright side Dick Vitale has us as #2 Mid-Major to watch and we're playing 3 of his top 5. Loyola Chi, GCU and Loyola Marymount (though I'm not 100% we're playing this Loyola this is the Lions). HoosierPal Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Is Warlick back in the gym, working out or shooting with the team? He was supposed to be out until August. It's August. Quote
Old guy Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Dayton, in my opinion, has a problem. They have a tough OOC schedule and if they win repeatedly they will do just fine. The problem is that Holmes will not be playing this season because of his injury and I assume they were counting on Holmes to play the good OOC teams. We will see how well they do without Holmes playing. Quote

slu72 Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Taj Mahal 79, Dickie V was pretty high on Loyola CHI. You not so much as I recall. I recalled reading where they were gonna be a tough nut to crack. You want to update your take on Sister Jean’s Ramblers? Quote
Taj79 Posted August 22 Posted August 22 @slu72: Loyola is in the same boat as most A10 teams in one area --- chemistry. They return a decent nucleus in Watson, Edwards, Dawson, Quinn, and Rubin. Their two question marks for me are 1) can Quinn replace Norris at the point and 2) will DeLoach and Nwaokorie replace the front lien production of Alston and Adelekun? I have them top four for sure. Loyola also has the nice mindset created under Porter Moser now continued by Drew Valentine. Do they have enough to supplant VCU? Only time will tell. DeLoach did not tear it up at Georgia last year. Nwaokorie was decent at UC-San Diego but how does that translate in the A10. Nwaokorie is 6'7" and 220 pounds but with Rubin patrolling the defensive paint, he won't have to do much back there. I still like VCU with its returning four of Shulga, Jackson, Bamisile and Fermin. They are veterans and experienced. Loyola, Dayton, St. Joe's and the Billikens all face replacing parts are getting those parts to mesh. Dayton is guard-heavy. Ditto St. Joes. And the Billikens are essentially a whole new team but Swope and Avila combined with Schertz make it quite promising. I'm no Dickie V. but all that is rather obvious. Quote
