  1. Video from this week's open practice.
  2. Here are a few of coaches that took jobs arguably worse than SLU's after the 2013 season when Crews was hired. No idea if they would have come here but the A-10 was a multiple bid league and SLU was nationally relevant. This job would have been on all of these coach's radar screens. Again, this is and was an attractive job. We have screwed up the hiring process multiple times. Will Wade - Chattanooga Bobby Hurley - Buffalo Niko Medved - Furman Brad Underwood - Stephen F. Austin
  3. I think we all underestimate how attractive this job is and how many people have been interested in it when open. Some of those applicants are just ridiculous (high school coaches, etc.) but every time it has been open there have been what has turned out to be very viable candidates. We just haven't been great at picking the right ones most of the time.
  4. Don't forget about Ontario. An hour plus closer than LAX. Nonstop Flights & Destinations | Ontario International Airport
  5. Apparently they could not transfer to another Missouri school without sitting a year?
  6. I hope he is healthy. I think that was a large part of his issues last year.
  7. Can't wait to see where this thread goes.....
  8. I would agree but I think it is even more nuamced than that. I would think a one off game against a top ACC, SEC, B12, or B10 team would be desirable. Not sure I would feel the same if it was St. John's or UConn. For some reason they feel a little closer in the pecking order to SLU. Or am I nuts?
  9. Apologies if this is redundant but a listing of more of the participants for the Acrisure Series plus TV info. 10. Those are from 2024
  11. BTW, if you are a college hoops fan, Allen Fieldhouse is worth a visit. Easy trip from STL and the game atmosphere is great. The front of the building is a museum and the origional rules of basketball (along with a lot of other cool things) are in it. Stay at the Oread on campus of you go.
  12. Great list. I have been to the US Open (tennis) and it is must see. I am going to Wimbledon in 2026 and will scratch that one off. At the top of my list is the Army/Navy game.
  13. 7 courts in a line. Just east of Ritter Hall where the Sinquefield Engineering Building sits. They were donated by a family who had a son that played tennis at SLU and passed away in the 70's.
  14. They have actually torn down 2 sets of courts on campus. The first set was a gift and they didn't have the courtesy to let the family know. That was a long time ago, but really poor form. The second set is where the arena currently sits.
  15. Steve, Many thanks for your efforts and for keeping this going.
  16. I think most of us were excited about last years roster over the summer. This one appears much better on paper. Last year was an MVC level roster and maybe mid MVC after the injuries. This is a top A10 roster. Before injuries.
  17. Per the STLPD Sharma has signed. St. Louis U. adds two more guards in transfer portal
  18. Do we need another guard as a primary ball handler? Feels like that might be the place we are going to be short. As designed, it is a free flowing offense, but that was a weakness last year and Green is coimg off a shortened season.
  19. Lot of good offers out of HS including KU per his X account.
  20. Two things can be true. Coach Ford had really bad luck....Perkins, Thatch, Covid, his nephew and assistant dying unexpectedly. But he also wasn't a great game coach....SIU-E example #1. None of this makes him a bad person and I don't blame him for a minute for the money he was paid. Anyone would have said yes to his contract(s). I supported him while he was SLU's coach because he was SLU's coach. I wish him nothing but the best, but I am currently firmly in the current coach's camp and excited what he can do.
  21. Two 3 point shooters. What is next?
  22. Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander at CBS Sports are polling 100+ coaches on a variety of topics. Some interesting stuff in here. Stating the obvious, but NIL is the Wild West of college basketball and the rate of change on packages referenced here is pretty interesting. Here are links to a couple of articles and there are more on a few different topics.
