Billikenbooster
I'm hearing 1. play in the system, know your role 2. make the extra pass 3. no TO's (hear that, Wiz?) HCJS version of Majerus' defend, rebound (forgot the third)

HCJS version of Majerus' defend, rebound (forgot the third) I think you have it. I remember (supposedly written on the board or maybe painted on the wall) "To win, defend and rebound." Pikaar is on campus but not in the video. He and Brockhoff will go back to Europe for national team obligations in the next couple weeks. Warlick is also not in the video (injured). Everyone else is accounted for in it. There is a new walk-on in there at the 48 second mark - Isaac Holmes, who was also a walk-on at Indiana State. The other two walk-ons (Jaden Schertz and Nick Patton) are both in the video.

Thanks for the info but honestly I think those Euros going back to spend most of the summer for whatever the reason sets their development back Aquinas and Billiken Rich like this

I think the physicality of the Euro youth tournaments pales in comparison to Division 1 hoops. cheeseman likes this

But I’d go if given the opportunity. I certainly agree with their decision. I also don’t think either will play a significant roll next season. Schertz likes tight rotations. slu72
It might set them back from a physical standpoint, but the Euros always seem to be a step or two ahead of US Players in BB skills and savy. The Euros receive good coaching and seem to be better trained in the basics of how to play as a teammate than an individual super star. Aquinas
Avila, Swope and Jimerson almost certainly have 3 spots locked down. Casey or Anya have to be favored to take the forward position. Leaving stiff competition for the last guard spot and backup minutes. The players that get comfortable with Schertz system first, and produce in practice will start to separate themselves from the pack. Three players other than Swope were not in action Tuesday: Transfer Kilian Brockhoff and freshman Max Pikaar had not completed medical testing, and freshman Dylan Warlick is out with an injury until August. https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/robbie-avila-takes-on-teaching-role-in-early-stages-of-slu-workouts/article_251e57fa-2275-11ef-87e2-3778d44c34f6.html

VeniceMenace
Excited for the future. Schertz is up there with Majerus and Spoon. The past was at times dysfunctional but entertaining...throwing punches in practice, going AWOL during a game, finally announcing ineligibility of late-add foreigners after portal misses & Shane-gate making national news...miss anything? Old guy
Swope wants to play, a lot, that is clear. Whatever he says, his knee may not be ready to take the stress of D1 competition playing yet. Better to be safe than sorry in cases like this. It all depends on what kind of surgical repair he had. If they had to use hardware like rods or screws, it will take longer to be ready.
