Matty Light Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I like the team play but worry about our legs late in the year playing this style. We could really use some additional bench minutes. Quote
maverick Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Really nice win. That was a strong team. I was at the St. Joe's game, and watched tonight's game. Lots of things to like about these guys. I do worry about how we respond to full court pressure, but we should improve as we gain some experience with it. Go Bills!! Quote
JettFlight5 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Warlick had a lot more responsibility tonight. He was part of the closing squad. Quote

HoosierPal Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Great game and great crowd considering the status of the streets in greater STL. Thames ignited the team and the fans in the first half. Apparently that was all he could give tonight. Schertz told Rammer and Earl he didn't know if Thames will ever be able to go 30+ again. The young man gives it all he has. Per Coach, team went from playing to win in the first 34 minutes to trying not to lose in the last 6 minutes. They take tomorrow off, then practice STL issues for two days, then focus on VCU and off to Richmond. Coach is aware we have never won there. Quote

He may still be employed if the game were 30 minutes long. Such a fine line of being aggressive enough but still using the clock. Can’t turn it over of course either. Probably good to have one of these under our belt, but this has been a problems for years on end Quote
ChiBilliken14 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I know the offense is operating more efficiently and the guys seem to be playing more in flow, but it just seems like things turned a corner when the intensity on defense notched up. Early games seemed too focused on figuring out the offense and next to no effort or a lack of mental focus toward defense. It’s completely flipped the past few weeks. On ball pressure and rotations are so much better now and I think that’s helping the guys play with more confidence on the other end. They’ve turned up the intensity now we need to get out there and support these boys! No more half filled Chaifetz! Adman, MusicCityBilliken and billikenfan05 3 Quote

Had Bonnies off balance all night. Refs were horrible. I think it’s a 12-15 point win if Anya plays his normal role. Their comeback had a lot to do on the glass. Fouling out in 11 minutes is legit hard to do. Quote
Bay Area Billiken Posted January 9 Posted January 9 SLU takes a 17-16 lead in the all-time series vs. St. Bona and has won 4 straight in the series. Quote

I was just appalled by his complete inability to run any defense whatsoever. But this zone which started to slide into a matchup zone at different points is just what the dr ordered. We won a game with a long offensive drought . Sure the lead was big but we made enough plays to hold on and got the right guy the ball at the end. Weeks ago this would've been a loss. Seemed like there were more upper bowl folks than other 5k attendance nights. Which means it was probably weather related, but the team is winning and people are slowly coming back. Quote
