  1. I don't why but the first NBC personality this logo brings to mind is Paul Reiser. Not Mad About You Paul Reiser, but My Two Dads Paul Reiser.
  2. I like the SLU Alcindar name, it makes me chuckle. But it doesn't really work because Kareem didn't wear goggles when he went by Lew.
  3. Is his last name pronounced like Capt. Picard of the Enterprise?
  4. Schertz must think he can improve his shooting if he is going to fit in the offense. His fg% is likely buoyed by drives to the hoop and his FT and 3PT percentages are not particularly impressive. But I trust Schertz to actually develop talent. This might be one of those guys who is a sleeper.
  5. JGood showed Brooklyn what's up in 2019. 4 victories in 4 days, baby!
  6. Great history recap! I am curious where the 49er bar was located. Do you happen to know?
  7. I stormed the court against Kansas in Spoonhour's final season. Shout out to Justin Love (RIP) for nailing that buzzer beater. That was 25 years ago this week!
  8. Thanks for the correction. Most everyone played 5 on 5 in my era. I couldn't remember the dribble rule, I knew it wasn't completely outlawed but very limited. Norman Dale would've been the best coach ever.
  9. 6 player girls basketball used to be the only style of basketball (3 forwards on one half, 3 guards on the other half, no dribbling) in Iowa high schools up through the 1970s. The all time Queen of 6-player was a girl name Fonda Dix. She set all of the scoring records in the state. No cap!
  10. The proposed facility wouldn't be ready until 2027. Who knows what NCAA conferences will look like 4 years from now?
  11. Great frame ups. I only had a PD subscription for one year, the 99-00 school year. Boy I wish I would have saved RAMS WIN SUPER BOWL, SLU WINS CUSA TOURNEY, and BLUES WIN PRESIDENTS CUP. It was a great year in the Lou.
  12. This team feels a bit like the final team with Marque Perry on it. I hope that means we are getting an Ian Vouyoukas next year.
  13. Did you Wooooo! whenever the Black Scorpion delivered a knife edge chop to Sting?
  14. Agreed. You couldn't really play Baniak and Braun together because the other team's PF would just murder you. The CUSA was that good. Tatum was the key on defense. He was the only guy strong enough and quick enough to keep those guys out of the paint. Heinrich was strong enough and would spell Tatum but his lack of speed led to fouls. Baniak and Braun were best couples with either Tatum or Heinrich. In 2000, Mo Jeffers would play some PF but Tatum or Heinrich would have to guard the opposing Alpha.
  15. I am not saying you're wrong, but describing those wins in that matter is a bit misleading. Heinrich only averaged 21 minutes a game his upperclassmen years. And he didn't really start until he was a senior. That means 19 minutes a game you had either Tatum/Baniak, Baniak/Braun or Braun/Tatum as your frontcourt combination.
  16. TJ took a big bump. Maybe WWE is in his future.
  17. The men's team made the Final Four of the College Cup my first semester at SLU in 1997.
  18. Well, I am happy Parker will be coming back. All that really matters is how good we can play when the A10 tourney starts. Like most every year in the modern NCAA, got to win the Conference Tourney to make the Big Dance.
  19. Thames with the obligatory 3 point foul.
  20. Good drive by Dalger to draw a shooting foul.
  21. I liked our answer to our previous "4th Qtr" scoring woes. Especially, with Parker out.
