@Pakapablo. That brief biography of Josh Schertz was a wonderful reading, Thank you very much for posting it like you did. It gave me a level of understanding and liking of this man that I would not have ever reached if I had looked at him just as a coach of the basketball team.

Again, much appreciated.

You are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Saturday April 6, 2024, a good day to be a Billiken fan.

As Billiken great and then Assistant Coach Harry Rogers once told a certain young SLU undergraduate student in the lobby at the elevator in Griesedieck Hall:

"The Bills are back, so back the Bills."

And as Ms. Blue said on The Jack Carney Show on KMOX, “All is well. All is well.”

David King is known to exaggerate. He also thought he was an expert at sneaking into drive-in movies without paying—until Security opened the trunk and busted him. How embarrassing, he needs to go to confession.

400th out of 400. Saint Louis University comes in a depressing 156th.

Not sure where you heard this - there was never any actual offer made.  Trust me if Louisville really wanted him he would not be here on Monday.  Rumors or talk is just that.

Via A10 talk article in other thread.

Not the only report I’ve seen either:

More people spouting who may or may not know.  Why would Schertz turn down 3.5 million per year for our 2 million per year.

I think our buyout of the MOU might have swayed their decision. Or Schertz saw what a pressure cooker UL could become.

He cites STL being a great sports town, great facilities/resources for sustained championships as deciding factors as well.  Salary is not end all be all, especially considering what this dude will make in coaching.

Perhaps more impressive was beating out FAU.  Alma mater and recent Final Four worked in their favor.

I agree the MoU probably was one of the reasons they decided to pass.  My point to Fraz was that the stuff he saw was just that stuff.  Schertz would never turn down 3.5 for 2 million if he actually was offered the Louisville job which he probably wasn't.  I am sure they kicked the tires but decided not to proceed so we did not beat them out for him.  Although, it would have to be one hell of a pressure cooker to turn down 1.5 million more per year for I think I heard 7 years.

Florida Atlantic was paying the last coach about 50% of what Shertz is going to make at SLU.

Another coach that has a body resemblance to the Billiken, the last 2 (Spoon, Majerus) did well. We’re so back!

Was going to say the coach who most resembles a Billiken since Bob Bender.

Did the AD have a "come to Jesus moment"?

Gotta say they're stepping up their game right now.  Will it last?
