Serious firepower at Dayton.  Key and Bennett both with 15, Checks with 14, Santos with 12 plus 13 boards, and Smith with 11 assists to go with his 6 points.  AND they won going a horrible 4-19 from the arc and 9-16 from the line.

Loyola Chicago lost a neutral court game against San Francisco by 10.

Loyola is 8-1 while San Francisco is 9-2

USF(CA) 76 Loyola Chicago 66 in Milwaukee.  USF's NET this morning is 45, one of 4 WCC teams in the Top 50, along with Gonzaga, St. Mary's and short termer in the WCC Oregon State.  Loyola is 88 in the NET.  SLU opener opponent Santa Clara is 78. 

Dayton is the only A10 team with NET in the Top 50.  Dayton's NET after beating Marquette is 23. 

For reference, SLU's NET is 179

I know they’ve been a bit inconsistent at times over the last few years, but Anthony Grant’s ability to replace NBA level players (Toppin and Holmes) and still maintain relevance is impressive.  And it’s reflected in their scheduling. Marquette, Northwestern, NM State, and UNLV all played/will play at UD Arena, they obviously had Maui, and then they’re playing Cincinnati in Cincy off campus.

what's frustrating to me is that we have the means to be the next gonzaga.   from an athletic department standpoint, this new president doesnt at least impress me as the guy that will go all out for athletics.  i think he will be a carbon copy of our BoT and be more about pursuing what seems to be a mythical quest to be known as a high academic institution.   while we are a good academic school, we arent going to considered ivy league anytime soon.

All I've ever wanted is for us to consistently finish top 3 in the conference.  If we could do that, the other stuff will take care of itself.

You are right, this is not 1981. We have the best facilities, beautiful arena and coaches salaries that are the tops in the league by a long shot. Why we are not better is beyond me.
