We were just in Hawaii (Big Island), and hadn't been there for about 20 years.  It's still a very nice place to vacation.  If SLU is playing in Hawaii next season, that will probably be in Honolulu, the big city on Oahu.

Anita and I were in Kona for about 10 days in may.   also spent about 5 days in maui again.   we were in Maui and Oahu for two weeks in 2021.    i loved kona.  not as many great beaches, but it is a far more interesting destination.   we saw so much between Kona and Hilo had some great hiking oppotunities, and the people we met were so down to earth.  it almost seems like all of western america escaped to kona and hilo in the late 60's early 70's and never returned to the mainland (kona brewing one of the best hippy escapes california to head to hawaii and start a brewery might be the best such story i have every seen.  (Drink Longboard Lager one of my favorite brews)

i love maui beaches.   incredible.   we did do the road to hana which if you only go to maui once in your life road to hana is a must.   a lot of work, but do it.   Oahu, is ok.   but it is definitely third place for me.   i mean if you are going to the trouble of going to hawaii, you got to do pearl harbor.   we stayed in waikiki at a hyatt a block from the beach.  a perfect location.   because it was a block from the beach instead of on the beach we probably saved $200 a night, yet the hyatt gave us beach chairs and towels to walk across the street to the beach plus, apparently the University of Hawaii must be just a few more blocks away because every day around mid afternoon the coeds coming to the beach was incredible!    but honolulu is definitely a major urban city compared to anywhere else in hawaii.   that main street right off the beach in waikiki felt so much like michigan avenue in Chicago.   we did take a day and drive to the north shore and watch the fantastic surfers and went to a pineapple farm and a nut farm.   but still all in all i would rather be in maui or Kona.

regardless, if i had to rank all my vacations of my life hawaii would have to be my number 1 and number 2 vacations.

Dayton blows 21 point lead, loses to North Carolina 92-90.

Refs as usual fueled this one.  Look at that free throw margin.....criminal

Now Dayton gets a higher rated opponent in the losers bracket of the Maui Invite, #5 Iowa State.  UConn or Colorado awaits them in the third game.  That sucker is loaded.

Don't feed the troll. Nothing in the rule book guarantees equal free throws.

No but the stats over a long period of time often shows that the team that gets to the line more often does win.

But that in itself doesn't indicate that the officiating contributed to a win or loss.

Agreed - I was talking in general not specific to that game

Isn't it interesting that the favored/Power 5 team ALWAYS has way more free throws in these matchups?  And it usually helps them come back when they are down and make less field goals than an underdog opponent?  You don't find that odd?

You may be a troll but I believe there is truth in this.

USF(CA) 85 Fordham 64- Final.  USF is 5-2;  Fordham is 3-5.

SLU and Loyola Chicago received some positive publicity on today's CBSSN telecast as being tough upcoming A10 opponents for USF, with Robbie Avila mentioned as returning to the lineup last night.

Dayton loses again at the Maui Invitational, 89-84 to Iowa State.

Dayton now gets to play UConn in the double losers game.  Dayton is going to be a problem in the Atlantic10.

Dayton does this every year.  They are better than how they actually show up in the non-conference, then come to the A-10 and do well even though games against them mean less than they should.

Unbelievable.

Hurley must have hurled after that mess. St. Joes beats Tx A&M. Good W’s for A10. We got a month to get our act together.
