Can't wait until TFord is gone and you finally leave the board.

Not going anywhere db. Think I’ll stick around and call out idiot posters for a while. As you know I’m no fan of Ford I just think you’re a useless poster with no life.

Thanks for your opinion. You should see a doctor for that extended hard on you have for me.

You should get a job and stop obsessing over a basketball program as if you are all-knowing.

Oh wow I got called out by stone cold. Brutal.

What's the over/under on how long DOC is around when TF is gone?

You can go back to posting on whatever Kentucky forum you use.

Ford is now 5-12 against Dayton. He allowed them to score 100 at SLU on Senior Night.

In college sports, when you can't beat your rival, you get fired.

There is no ambiguity here.

Anyone who disagrees can go away. Anyone uncomfortable with this fact (and the conversation around it) should probably take a break for the next few weeks.

And anytime you have not beaten a top 25 team in EIGHT years, you need to move on.

Great point.

I'd also add that you can't have a team in the bottom 25 of defensive rankings in the country and live to coach another season.

But but but but what about our offensive rankings? What are those?

There are many reasons to move forward with the firing. Last night served to highlight a big one, though.

WHAT ABOUT 2-11 AGAINST VCU?

Personally i despise VCU even more than Dayton. VCU is the real rival. Beat VCU.

Or having one of the worst Defenses in the country.

Or one Tourney in 8 years

Or not giving your lone senior a sendoff down 15 with a minute left

Or causing your whole team to get covid bc you wanted to have a bday party

Could go on and on of all single reasons he's should be gone.  My head hurts. I wanna go home.

It's not just Dayton and VCU though, it's against ANY good team. I did this before the season, and have updated it so far this year.

SLU vs Top 4 A-10 opponents, including the A-10 Conference Tournament (Regular Season record in parentheses):

2016-17: 0-5 (0-5)

2017-18: 1-5 (1-4)

2018-19: 4-4 (1-4)

2019-20: 2-2 (2-2)

2020-21: 3-2 (2-1)

2021-22: 3-5 (2-4)

2022-23: 1-5 (1-4)

2023-24: 0-7 (0-7)

TOTAL RECORD: 14-35 (9-31)

TOTAL RECORD (factoring 16-17 out): 14-30 (9-26)

TOTAL RECORD (factoring 16-17 out, 19-20 COVID out, 20-21 COVID out): 9-26 (5-23)

That is impressively bad.

Nah didn't they fire him during a scandal or something?

Edit: Yep, just looked it up.

I am just trying to understand why some think Mack would be a good hire.  Didn't he flame out at Louisville?  I know he was successful at X.  Just wondering what people are thinking.

Success at a school similar to SLU and in the region is a big yes.

2009–10 Xavier 26–9 14–2 T–1st NCAA Division I Sweet 16
2010–11 Xavier 24–8 15–1 1st NCAA Division I Round of 64
2011–12 Xavier 23–13 10–6 3rd NCAA Division I Sweet 16
2012–13 Xavier 17–14 9–7 T–6th
Xavier Musketeers (Big East Conference) (2013–2018)
2013–14 Xavier 21–13 10–8 T–3rd NCAA Division I First Four
2014–15 Xavier 23–14 9–9 6th NCAA Division I Sweet 16
2015–16 Xavier 28–6 14–4 2nd NCAA Division I Round of 32
2016–17 Xavier 24–14 9–9 7th NCAA Division I Elite Eight
2017–18 Xavier 29–6 15–3 1st NCAA Division I Round of 32
Xavier: 215–97 (.689) 105–49 (.682)
Louisville Cardinals (Atlantic Coast Conference) (2018–2022)
2018–19 Louisville 20–14 10–8 T–6th NCAA Division I Round of 64
2019–20 Louisville 24–7 15–5 T–2nd No postseason due to COVID-19 pandemic
2020–21 Louisville 13–7 8–5 7th
2021–22 Louisville 6–8 5–5

That's a lot of tourney visits. my biggest problem with this is my bank account wouldn't support all of these hotels every march.

But seriously, the 19-20 season Louisville was ranked #9 in KP going into post season.

The dude can coach.  The whole pre - NIL doesn't bother me much because A the guy can coach, B you know he was recruiting as if NIL was a thing in his final years at X and most definitely at Louisville.  Everyone was doing it to some degree at that level with that success.

Just think, instead of 20 win seasons, we're looking at 25 being the benchmark (!!!)

Congratulations, you’ve done more statistical analysis on Ford’s tenure than any local media or the people calling games.

It’s just easier for them to repeat the same talking points… “27 year head coach, made the NCAA tournament, multiple 20 win seasons” and not get into specifics, which are eye opening.

Mack remains my top choice for much of the reasons stated above. Will he cost a ton? Yeah, but it's not my money so what do I care? The issue isn't that Ford is getting paid $2.5M it is that he is getting paid $2.5M to produce unacceptable results.

I'd also be thrilled with Schertz or McCollum. I was going to wait until my youngest kids were a bit older to purchase season tix but if one of these three is hired, I'm moving that up to the 24-25 season.
