Huh?  If the only player on the roster designated a “shooter” (aka- Schertz doesn’t think he can do anything else besides shoot) doesn’t make his shots, how is that looking good?  Pretty sure he added four personal fouls too.

Ya not sure what aspect of the game he looked good in. There was a stretch where he got beat on the def glass that lead to a SC 3, then forced a 3 and missed, then got beat for a bucket on the next defensive possession. Hope Larry becomes a contributor just don't know where he looked good came from. 

Dotzler needs time. Kinda figured he wouldnt do much today with it being his first real game minutes but I think he will play a part.

i have no problem with him being in the game.    but why arent the other 4 players smart enough to not let him be the one that has to foul?

We say stronger A10 every year, and every year it turns out not to be that way.

55% of our shots came from three-point land.  And the mantra is you don't foul a jump shooter.  So bemoaning an imbalance in free throws will likely be a daily occurrence on our game days.

It was inconsequential. They were down 5 with 10 seconds left.

This was an absolute worst case scenario. I love Schertz but he was outcoached by a very good coach. Santa Clara was ready to disrupt dribble handoffs and we had 4 TOs before the first TV break. Robbie getting hurt destroys the chances of the team being anything as long as he's out.

But beyond this, there was panic. Schertz played Jimerson and Swope the entire game. I thought the team was supposed to be deep. Dotzler looked out of it. To me the most disappointing player, both in the warmups and today, is Casey. For a 4* who was a Miami recruit, he doesn't look athletic or skilled. 

Anya missed an uncontested dunk, got a T, and turned the ball over 5 times. Still, I think he'll help us win games. Why not roll the dice with McCottry? Why not see if Brockhoff can help out on the boards? I get it, it seemed like it would be a one possession game but shooters aren't going to have their legs at the end of the game if you never rest them.

If he went 2-4 from three instead of 0-4, you wouldn't think he sucked. Sometimes shooters miss shots. It means they missed shots. You have to accept the variance of a player like Hughes. We're not going to be a good team if only six players play more than 6 minutes. It won't work against A-10 teams.

Didn’t really know what to expect. SC is pretty good and we didn’t look good. Our 3pt D is bad. If you’re gonna hang your hat on shooting the 3 at least know how to defend it. We can’t give up that many points and win. Sucks Kobe was out but Thames had a game and looks legit. Larry usually knocks a couple of those down which would have been a game changer. If he can’t, play Amari. Swope is a stud and will be fun to watch this year. Hope Robbie is ok. He is gonna have problems with his ankle as long as his foot work is this slow. Probably a non popular take but he needs to get in better shape. Gibby gonna Gib. Get him the ball. Not used to losing our 1st.game. I don’t like it. Practically a 2 week lay off to get healthy. Go Bills.
