This reply by WestPineBills made me LOL. I'm imagining Mr. Murkens at Pappy's. Of course he's clad in his polo shirt with too many buttons undone and no undershirt, gold necklace resting across the top of white tufts of chest hair that no one wants to see, and his signature St Louis Cardinals cowboy hat sits askance on his head. He strolls up to the counter with the self-assuredness that only a Boomer can have. "I'll take a full slab of ribs, bean, and slaw" Tony boasts. "Sure. Anything else?" inquires an unknowing Pappy's employee. "What's the latest on the Billiken's coaching search?" "..." "..." "Uh...I...I don't know what you're talking about. Your total is $31.09." "Did Fred Pestello put you up this this? You know Yuri Collings should've gone to Texas. No heart." "..." Both parties glance down to see Frank Cusamano stroll over. "Tony! How you doing! Let's talk about Blake Ahern!" -scene-7 likes -

I’m now rooting for Ind St to lose in the semis for the sole reason of shutting this thread down3 likes -
The value of Curcic, is he shoots well coming off the bench. Our bigs don't shoot 3s, so the 5 out offense turns into a 4 out offense. One of the things that make Avila so effective is that his defender has to come out of the paint to guard him, or he will drop a 3 on them. When his defender comes out, it opens s up the lanes for cutters. Its beautiful. But it does not work with a big that can't make 3s. I dont think Schertz will settle for players that can't play his system. I think in today's game, you tell the players that you are not likely to see the floor and they will leave. Indiana State is a super disciplined team. The Bills have been very undisciplined. The culture is about to change.3 likes

This thread seemed like the best catch-all for the fact that we have 5 teams playing today: -WBB is at Fort Wayne in the WNIT Super 16 tonight at 6:00 -Baseball hosts Rhody again at 2:00 -Softball has a doubleheader at GW at 11:00 and 1:00 -Men's Tennis hosts Butler at 1:00 -And the Track & Field team is spread out among 5 different events this weekend - at Wash U, Stanford, San Francisco State, Texas, and Texas State. Streams are available for WBB, baseball, softball, and the Texas Relays - ESPN+ for the first three, Longhorn Network for the last one. Would be nice to see the award-winning athletic department promote such a big day. That's a ton of stuff for your fans to stream on a slow Friday afternoon at work.2 likes -

Think about that....2024 dollars in the ACC at a basketball school not 2016 A10 Dollars. So if you're falling over yourself pre congratulating May, remember we wouldn't be in this position if not for the collosal mistakes he made.2 likes -

I used to judge Grandy based on his post-SLU activity, but seeing it spelled out like this with his name, his future had already been written. I hope he is doing the glazing vs. being glazed, at least I think that is what I would hope for him.1 like -

I’ve felt SLU marketing of its athletic programs has been pretty bad the last few years. One of the worst examples was the Bronze Boot game last year. SLU basically sent out a couple emails, from the SIUE side they were bombarding alumni, current students, anyone they could get ahold of with daily emails and other social media posts. Just one small example1 like -

Good question...Dayton has an exemption...If they were the play in team ...they would also be the home team. ...1 like -
Bommarito is the most obvious one. Obviously I don’t listen to the radio broadcasts unless I’m in a 2 men and a garden pickle, but I’m sure he had a radio spot or two. His teams also weren’t really good enough or popular enough to be in the forefront of St Louis sports. Unlike Spoon.1 like

He looks like the racist, abusive, alcoholic father from a movie set in 1960. Again, like you said, he might be a decent enough guy. He just looks like that.1 like

I could have fed individual players in to the computer but instead I fed the whole roster in.... There were 6 players that the computer said could play on a Schertz team...3 sure players and 3 maybe/bench players. Of course the player it liked the best was Parker but reports say he is not coming back. Another player the computer thought would be good was Hargrove...and we know he is not coming back . Finally, there is Jimerson. If Schertz brings 5 players Jimerson and a few other ISU players might get a few min less /gm which isn't necessarily bad. If he brings 4 then Jimerson and the other ISU players could play their usual mins. On the maybe / bench players(getting about the same min they got this year).....Hughes(he would need to improve shooting inside the arc)...Thames (he would need to improve FT shooting)...Curcic (he would need to get a few more rebs) Bottom line...1 player (Jimerson) could make the cut from the entire existing roster....3 could be maybe/bench players...Thames...Hughes...Curcic....the others would not make the cut.1 like

Me thinks LHJ stays especially if its Schertz. Bruce while lacking skill, fits in perfectly with Schertz system. I also think Gibby comes back under Schertz, can you imagine Gibby with the passing of Avila (!). I'd also keep Thames and Crucic.1 like
