Lord Elrond Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Should be interesting, they might need to give away programs so fans can tell who’s who… Quote
BrettJollyComedyHour Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I have to get my car inspected right around the time this is happening. Do we know if there will be any additional open practices? Quote
Lord Elrond Posted July 20 Posted July 20 This is the only one on the schedule so far. I would bet there will be more, but nothing scheduled that I am aware of. BrettJollyComedyHour 1 Quote
Dr. Holly Hills Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Never been to an open practice.. Would this have any entertainment value if I take my 8 year old son? He’s a pretty big slu fan. Quote

The kids usually love meeting the players and getting autographs/pictures after. Lord Elrond, crymdg2 and Dr. Holly Hills 3 Quote

Taj79 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I thought practice couldn't start until sometime in October? Y'know ..... Midnight Madness and all that jazz. Did this change and I somehow missed it? Quote

The Wiz Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Only four hours a week can be spent on skill-related instruction, per NCAA guidelines. Programs often use most or all of that four-hour block to bring the entire team together, setting aside some of the time for intrasquad competition as opposed to individual work. Quote

I was told they are practicing 3 days a week. I have to believe they are together more than 4 hours together on the court. We may be talking semantics here. Quote

Curious the % of teams that actually follow it exactly Quote
HoosierPal Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Teams are allowed an additional 4 hours per week of supervised strength and conditioning training. This 8 hour framework (4 practice plus 4 conditioning) begins on July 20 and can last up to eight weeks until the school’s first day of classes or Sept. 15, whichever is earlier. Quote
The Wiz Posted July 22 Posted July 22 To clarify ...On a weekly basis, you get 4 hours of weight training and developmental skills and 4 hours of intra squad activities. Today's practice will count as an intra squad activity. Quote
Lord Elrond Posted July 22 Posted July 22 They gave away sheets with the players names, numbers, and pictures on them at the practice. You have to admit there had been a LOT of turnover on the roster…. Quote
