Never been to an open practice.. Would this have any entertainment value if I take my 8 year old son?  He’s a pretty big slu fan.

This year, definitely. I've gone to a few over the last 10 years with my dad and we always have a good time.

I’ve taken my son to a few of these over the past few years and hes always loved them. He’s 11 now. The kids usually love meeting the players and getting autographs/pictures after.

Agreed. My 11 year old is definitely "fan boying" over the possibility of meeting Cream!

I thought practice couldn't start until sometime in October?  Y'know ..... Midnight Madness and all that jazz.  Did this change and I somehow missed it?

I was told they are limited to 10 hours a week on the court. That does not include film study and talk.

Only four hours a week can be spent on skill-related instruction, per NCAA guidelines. Programs often use most or all of that four-hour block to bring the entire team together, setting aside some of the time for intrasquad competition as opposed to individual work.

I was told they are practicing 3 days a week. I have to believe they are together more than 4 hours together on the court. We may be talking semantics here.

Curious the % of teams that actually follow it exactly

Teams are allowed an additional 4 hours per week of supervised strength and conditioning training.  This 8 hour framework (4 practice plus 4 conditioning) begins on July 20 and can last up to eight weeks until the school’s first day of classes or Sept. 15, whichever is earlier.

To clarify ...On a weekly basis, you get 4 hours of weight training and developmental skills and 4 hours of intra squad activities.  Today's practice will count as an  intra squad activity.
