I will say Martelli does pull in some decent recruits though from an area filled with a boat load of talent. UMass-tradition? One final 4 in over 20 years does not equal tradition. Of course, getting in the door w/ a GED is a big plus that they haven't taken advantage of recently. By the way, getting into UMass for the majority of instate students is pretty competitive. They'll send applicants to UMass Boston or Umass Lowell. UMass Amherst has always been fairly hard to get into for a state school. And no, I'm not confusing it with the private Amherst. URI?
