The most noteworthy item in this article is that A10 Media Day is today in NY.  I did not know that.

Thursday is Media day

Ha.  So much for the one thing in the article being new.  Paragraph right before 14. Fordham.

"Here’s one man’s look at how at how the predicted order of finish should read Tuesday at A-10 Media Day at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center:"

Interesting look at the A-10 here, lots of room for improvement...

https://watchstadium.com/news/atlantic-10-basketball-coaches-rank-the-best-jobs-in-the-conference-10-17-2018/

6. Saint Louis (71) – The Billikens have gone to the NCAA tourney nine times overall, and three times since 2012. Saint Louis has the resources, facilities and also the ability to recruit in the Midwest – which can be both good and bad.

Where they win: “Plenty of local players in the area and the only D-1 program in a city that has four million people. Great facilities and resources.” – A-10 head coach

The knock: “Being removed from the east coast in an east coast league is tough because Midwest kids are not as familiar with the A-10 as they are with the Missouri Valley. It’s also hard to keep local kids with the Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC all coming in.” – A-10 assistant coach

On the bright side, the St. Louis metro grew by 1.2 million people. That should help improve our spot on many of those (negative) top 10 lists. Here you go Baltimore, the STD crown is yours!

-I wonder where we rank in D1 in this regard? I think our arena is awesome (concessions overpriced), the Pavillion for practice when arena in use can't be considered bad and I would think every place has times when arena not available (if for no other reason a women's game) and wonder what is meant by "resources" but this could be a comment from a school that doesn't spend to our level - good to get praise

I can see UD and VCU being ranked higher. That's it. St Joes? Joke. Their gym sucks according to Taj Mahal 79, or it did. I will say Martelli does pull in some decent recruits though from an area filled with a boat load of talent.  UMass-tradition? One final 4 in over 20 years does not equal tradition. Of course, getting in the door w/ a GED is a big plus that they haven't taken advantage of recently. By the way, getting into UMass for the majority of instate students is pretty competitive. They'll send applicants to UMass Boston or Umass Lowell. UMass Amherst has always been fairly hard to get into for a state school. And no, I'm not confusing it with the private Amherst. URI? Let's see how the post Hurley years go before we rank them ahead of us.
