  1. It’s Steve’s sandbox. If you don’t like how he runs things, you don’t have to play here.

  3. I want to see more plays run for Nesbitt. Most of the time he simply isolates. I want to see more variety of plays. Reportedly we have a 'huge' playbook. I'm not seeing all that many different sets. BC is as bad as we are at the number of 3's shot. Today before any games, we are 318th in 3's taken. BC is 352....yes looking up at almost everyone. We can double the post, until some Eagle gets red hot from downtown. At the beginning of the season, our roster averaged 2.2 years experience. BC's roster averaged 1.9 years experience. We are the more experienced team. We are at home. No excuses today.

  4. If Yuri keeps playing defense like this, we'll have to bust out the Roy Kent chants. "He's here, he's there, he's every f'in where!"

  7. With Yuri on the floor the +/- is +18 in 18 minutes. 2 min without him for -1. Which is absolute proof that if Yuri plays 18 min per half we win by 36. If Yuri plays only 2 minutes per half we lose by 14.

  12. Washington 2 Georgetown 1 The difference for Washington this year is their middle back line defending. They didn’t have Robin.(grad transfer from Bowling Green), and, Sailor has come a long way to be a 1st Team All American. Both have great size, dangerous in the air on both offense and defense. Both can defend in the box. And they still have Burks and Ostrem. Georgetown was able to do what they wanted in the first half, slowing the game down, and playing it in the midfield, for much of the game. They didn’t get enough of a final third threat. And when Washington scored first on a ball through traffic, it opened up the game a bit. Lots of Sands left side runs for G in the first half. Burks held his own defending. Had a nice game. Sands missed a wide open back post header. And Sailor grabbed and held Stojanovic on a through ball turn middle of the box. Not going to get that call there. Riviere received over the top back post diagonal ball, settled and ripped just wide late first half for Georgetown. Riviere had a nice tourney on right wing off of the bench. But again, Georgetown couldn’t get a lead. UDub likes to transition down the middle and play narrow. They had a few aerial diagonal balls in the box but Georgetown’s keeper did well to come out each time. On the flip side Georgetown’s strength is in the defensive midfield and building from there but Udub didn’t allow much there. They were putting 4 across the top. Execution wasn’t sharp for ether team in the first. Transition goal for Washington. Soto wins a tackle, quick upfield passing for Meek wide. He has give and go with Teves, cuts in near post service. Miglietti is covered but the ball deflects off of the center back into far netting. 1-0 Washington. https://twitter.com/ncaasoccer/status/1469514771535958018?s=21 Immediately Georgetown builds up middle of the field and gets it to Sands cutting into the box. He gets obstructed by Robin in the box, goes down. No call. 2nd goal, just minutes later, Burks played multiple nice long balls down the line. Scardina cuts in top of the box far side for Ostrem, who cuts back to his right and rips a great shot from 22 yards moving the defense side to side. 2-0 in 3 minutes. Ostrem usually doesn’t take that shot with his opposite foot. He did. And it was big time. https://twitter.com/ncaasoccer/status/1469516286443069445?s=21 Georgetown pressured. Tabora almost had one on a feed from Polvara right side, cuts it back and rips from short range. Great save Fowler. finally scored with 11 minutes left, diagonal aerial ball for Riviere back post. He beat Ostrem, and Sailor was out of the game with a shoulder injury. 2-1. Sailor immediately re-entered the game after that. https://twitter.com/ncaasoccer/status/1469524691933138945?s=21 Washington was able to run out the clock. UDub 4-4-2. Georgetown 4-2-3-1/4-4-2…it’s really 2 of Stojanovic, Hegardt, Tabora paired up top from a 4-2-3-1. Quiet games for 2 of those 3. Once again Tabora was rhe Hoyas best attacking player with Riviere making things happen on the wing off of the bench. Sands was good. Georgetown was disciplined but had the one mistake on the first goal. UDub defended well while Georgetown didn’t do enough in the final third.

  14. I'd suggest not watching Nebraska at Auburn. 30 point game with 7 1/2 to play. Maybe Auburn players will forget to bring their vax cards to Chaifetz next weekend. [Final score, Tigers 99, Huskers 68]

  15. I think this recent run by Memphis concisely demonstrates what many of us felt about Penny Hardaway's coaching abilities. He had an NIT champion team coming back intact and still went out and got some stellar pieces. The story on ESPN is that there is disharmony in the Tigers' locker room and the one key piece Hardaway forgot in his recruiting was an actual point guard. Emoni Bates ain't it. I suspect there will be addition by subtraction here shortly. There are already 80 or so guys in the transfer portal per Verbal Commits including two from St. Joe's, and one each from Fordham and La Salle.

  20. This thread is going just as I thought it would. Y'all are really something. While I'm as sick of this pandemic as anyone, I'll gladly show my vaccine card and wear a mask for the privilege of watching my beloved Billikens in-person. Yes, the policies are probably a bit of theater, but at the end of the day, I'm fine with complying and hope the measures do add some provided safety for everyone. But that's just me.

  22. That is entirely correct. Each and everyone has the right to choose whether it is OK for himself and family to get vaccinated or not. This means that those who refuse to get the vaccine or do anything else that is required, should opt to stay away and not attend games at the Chaifetz. We will see soon enough how many people return their tickets and demand a refund, and how attendance at games will be. I think it will be a lot lower than it has been. But make no mistake, SLU is a private company and they have the right to decide the requirements for public attendance to the games. This is not a discussion, this requires a simple yes or no. Oh and it is also true, like we have heard so often over the last few years that "actions have consequences."

  25. My topic is tongue in cheek, since i know sign guy spends plenty of time fixing problems. However, on a serious note, the quality is going down and I wonder if SSG needs another Asst. Mod. ? On the front page of the Board, UAB is shown as an L, without a score. Belmont has never been listed and still isn't so obviously there in no score shown, none of the A 10 games are shown with a date and maybe the clearest indication that some help is needed is the fact that as of this moment the vaccine thread has reached 8 pages and done nothing but p!$$ people off with each other. Shoot, I really believe if we had a Billikens.com gathering that a brawl would break out. Sign Guy, Shut the vaccine thread down, NOW.
