  1. One observation: Jimmy has to get a lot more aggressive on putbacks and layups. Like, JAM TIME, Jimmy! No reason a 6'10" guy should be missing bunnies. At least he made the FT's. Also, I think he may have a mid range game lurking in that locomotive somewhere. His form on FTs is pure.

  2. All the fans around me in section 101 were all talking about the first foul that should have been a and 1. That was the foot away miss, they were encouraging Jimmy to jam it next time. It is hard to understand why Jimmy misses so many close shots however it is encouraging when he goes 6 of 6 from the line. I agree based on his free throw shooting he should have a mid range game and I would like Jimmy to test that this season. Jimmy looked up at my wife and I and acknowledged us when we were cheering the team off the court going threw the tunnel. The whole team was in a great mood coming off the court. A shout out to the fan that found my wife’s wallet and turned it in, thank you so much we are grateful to you.

  5. This is by far the best highlight package I’ve seen this year, or even the last three or four years. Most have too much non-game stuff and not enough Rammer and Earl commentary. This one was like the ones from 5-10 years ago which were very good.

  6. There were 5 dunks last night that in most years would be dunks of the year. Jgood in traffic, French Lob, both of Perkins dunks were impressive but the Jacobs dunk upon seeing highlights was the best.

  9. Bell's about 10 pounds away from finishing inside. Takes too long to get off the ground. Vouyoukas had the same problem as a freshman.

  10. I don't know if Jimmy can ever be the shooter Loe was, but his form on FTs looks smooth. Can he turn that into a mid range jumper? Obviously, he's not got a great vertical, or at least he's not shown it. Get him some weighted sneaks to practice in. Again, I'll raise the issue that Has should work on a short jumper. So obvious when he gets the ball 10-15' from the hoop the defender(s) know he's gonna try to get it to 2-3' for a little flip shot or a slam and they back up. They leave him virtually wide open for a jumper.

  11. Whatever happens or does not happen the truth is that the Bills are a very young and inexperienced team this year that has done very well considering the number of freshmen playing, the number of injuries/diseases they have had to deal with, and refs intent in stopping us whenever possible. I do not know if we will make the dance this year or not, but we certainly will find out in due time. We have done well so far this season. Go Bills!

  12. The fact that @moytoy12 is showing more class in that exchange is scary.

  13. -a nice win, brutal game to watch, crazy stat line for JPerk - 34min, 7-11fg, 2-3 3pt, 8-9 FT. 3 PF. 2 TO, 1 Blk, 1 Stl, 0 rebounds, I would take that every game

  16. Another thought: the “one more foul” chant from the student section was awesome.

  17. He does. Once he learns that he's got to play with JGood's motor, he could be special. Surprised Rammer didn't get more excited about Yurimania's assist on Perkins dunk. The NBC team ooohed and aaaahed over it, as Yurimania was not looking at Perkins.

  18. A good win for The Bills... Here is the quote from my above post...No playing to the competition...play at an A level The above quote was correct on both sides....We played at an A level in the 1st half ...and to the competition in the 2nd half. While we missed on a few things in the WWN2D2W category...we won and exceeded the spread because we did some things exceedingly well. Let's examine the 1st half ...this is where most of the game was played... We did play at an A level and it showed with a 21 pt lead at the half. ...probably one of our best halves of the season..The game was over at half time... End of the 1st half...SLU....53/ 62/36/78....A+/ A+ / A- /A+ .................................LaS.....31/29/33/100...F / F- / C / A+ And there you have the game....Billiken D shut them down.....on a side note......Croswell (59th ITN in FG %) who scored 24 pts last game against us, was held to 2 pts. Great job The other stat which was a game winner was Rebs...we grabbed 40...nothing unusual there...we average about 40/gm....BUT we held them to 25...15 reb diff...I was projecting a spread of 4 rebs...far exceeded spread and a major diff maker...again kudos to the D In addition ...things that didn't show up on the stat sheet... excellent passing and good ball movement and some outstanding plays by a number of players. Another thing that doesn't show on the score sheet was toughness. They tried to play bully ball and the Bills held their ground without playing street ball...The Bills had 10 more FTA than LaS...which led to 6 more FTM....or the exact amount of extra points on top of the spread. A couple of negatives ...one understandable and one correctable....We got a big lead(1st half) and then played to the competition (2nd half) ...or may be just tried to run out the clock....It is hard to play with the same intensity with a big lead...but can you imagine what the score would have been if we had played the 2nd like the 1st. The correctable item was the TOs...we not only lost the TO battle by 2 but gave up 15 total ...fortunately it didn't matter but 15 is never good. Part of that may again have been some carelessness as a result of having a big lead. Overall a good effort, especially the 1st half. That half shows us the potential of this team. Even the 2nd half when LaS tried to bend us , we didn't break....toughness...this team is growing.

  26. @ChapleyMedia I don’t know anything about the status of Fred Thatch Jr. But I do know that this is the first practice in a LONG time I’ve seen him go through a full warmup with the team. He usually gets going by himself and jumps in/out when ready. This seems like a positive sign.

  27. I think it's pretty clear that the staff wants both Abou Ousmane (traditional post player) and his teammate Jayson Woodrich (a 3/4 marksman). This isn't an either or.

  28. Agreed - Plus we don't need too much from him before French graduates. Maybe 5-8 MPG. Come in, play good defense and rebound. Set some screens on offense and try to get an offensive rebound or two. It would be nice to avoid some foul trouble on French/Bell next year.

  29. He's definitely a wing, and he's an elite shooter. He's just an inch shorter and has a bigger frame than Lorentsson. He's grown 2 inches in the past year. He's also exploding as a prospect. He played four years at Beachwood HS in the Cleveland area, the last three as a varsity starter. He missed the first half of his junior year with a broken foot. He averaged 26.7 PPG as a senior and was named to the all-state team. He was thinking he'd be a JUCO prospect for a couple years but realized his grades were being hampered by undiagnosed learning disabilities - ADHD and dyslexia. He got medication and the resources he needed at school and his grades soared. Instead of going the JUCO route, he took a prep year. His first offers were in late November and early December before SLU offered. A ton of schools are interested and more will pull the trigger soon. He's worked extensively with former Beachwood players who have gone D-I and come home for the summer. He's focused on ballhandling, shooting off the dribble, leaping ability, and more. That's showing in his Scotland Campus highlight videos this season. He's a teammate of Abou Ousmane, a traditional center. They're not a package deal but SLU is actively recruiting both. Ousmane retweeted his SLU offer tweet with . He's had at least 12 games of 30+ points this season. He had 2 games where he hit 13 3-pointers. He's not a streaky shooter; he'll hit at any time to change momentum. He's one of 13 siblings - 7 biological and 6 step-siblings after his mom remarried. Favorite quote from my research on this kid: "Throw four people on me," Woodrich said, "I’ll still shoot right over you. I just feel like if I can get the ball off, the ball’s going in no matter what. That’s just how it’s been all year and I’ve got stats to show it." Bottom line: Let's get him and Ousmane on campus for a visit. He and Jimerson together would change everything offensively.

  30. Careful there SLU72, your comments may be deemed negative by some of the more sensitive members. You’re actually spot-on, but there may be some people get butt-hurt over saying something “critical”. Bell does have a smooth shot that hopefully he can develop a mid-range game from, along with being more aggressive around the rim and using that big body to throw down with authority.
