With Loyola-Chicago on the conference slate already, we only need to add Loyola University in Baltimore along with Loyola Marymount to complete the Loyola triple header

We can bring in Loyola New Orleans for an exhibition game.

The Jacksonville MTE was poorly run and financing fell apart along with the some of the higher level teams trying to self determine more favorable matchups. Hearing we may be scheduling a game or two against the BCS teams that were supposed to he in this event as regular non con games.

Wasn’t it supposed to be Cincy and an ACC school?

Yeah, but they couldn't get final commitments in the end.

Nice!   A home MTE!   I remember that we hosted one that included Alabama and Air Force in the Romar era and then I vaguely remember we had one that included Northwestern in the Grawer era during a massive ice storm.

We also cobbled one together during the COVID season with LSU and SIUE.

Asking a lot here but if we can get two T100 teams in the MTE, and avoid any more 300+ teams I'll be happy with the OOC

P5 teams currently not committed to an MTE.  You can follow along at https://www.bloggingthebracket.com/2024/5/13/24140186/2024-25-mens-college-basketball-exempt-multi-team-events-mte-thanksgiving-early-season-tournaments

ACC: Boston College, California*, Georgia Tech

Big 12: Cincinnati, Utah*

Big East: Butler, DePaul

Big Ten: Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, UCLA*

SEC: Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri

Schertz stated that he wants to play MVC schools (probably not ISU this year).  So MVC schools not committed include:

MVC: Belmont, Bradley, Drake, Evansville, Indiana State, Murray State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Valparaiso

We only have 2 more road/neutral dates to fill, so that limits MTE options outside of STL (although it's still possible). I'm curious to see what level of team we could draw to an MTE in St. Louis.

We probably need 9 total home games (including exhibitions), which is 6 more home dates to figure out. 4-5 of those have to be regular season games, which means we might see another 300+ team or two.

Last year's rankings:

66 - San Francisco
105 - Santa Clara
151 - Wichita State
178 - Illinois State
185 - Wofford
199 - Loyola Marymount
300 - Jackson State

While preseasons don't ultimately matter, they seem to be pretty close to post season finished last year, and overall a step better

preseason    (post season last year)

67 San Fran (66)

86 Wichita st (151)

90 Santa clara(105)

143 Wofford(185)

164 Loyola Marymont(199)

194 Ill st(178)

343 Jackson st(300)

Billikens @ USF (CA) on 12/5/24, playing the Dons in San Francisco for the first time since Coach Spoonhour's last year.

Come out to the Bay Area.  This is going to be great, 2 Jesuit schools with good teams facing off.

Southwest flies non-stop from STL to SFO and OAK;  I just read today United is resuming non-stop SFO-STL flights in August.

While these numbers don't blow me away the names are much better then last year. No Southeast NorthSouth State University.
