  1. You weren't wrong in the Soderberg days. West Pine was atrocious. Facilities still matter in that case.

  2. Loyola of LA just announced it is terminating 6 sports programs to better position itself to be competitive in the new NIL and transfer portal sports world. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/careers/thousands-sign-petition-after-lmu-cuts-6-sports-programs/ar-BB1hhOa2?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=227df1251f62490ea1ae702551797935&ei=21 While some student-athletes no doubt will benefit from the new approach, many student-athletes will be hurt.

  4. Some random thoughts: 1. Would like to see Meadows at the point for 30-32 mins. which limits Medley to 8-10. He’s just not a productive PG at this point. 2. Parker has got to get his decision-making under control. Granted, he’s our only one on one threat, but he just can’t throw up anything to the rim. If it’s not there, keep the ball moving. 3. Hoping Van Bussell is now the first back-up to EZ. We need his energy on the floor. Bruce is just too weak to consistently compete in the paint. If he knows he’s the backup, maybe he stops fouling so much. 4. Get Curcic on the floor for a 3-4 min. stretch each half and see if he can knock down some threes. I like the fire he plays with and his shot mechanics are excellent. Looks like a pure shooter and not just a streak shooter. 5. EZ has got to stop fouling. He’s got to stay on the floor for us to have a chance. Sat. we get off to a great start, he commits a touch foul, goes to the bench, and UMass starts its rally back.

  5. Our TO differential has been garbage all season. It wasn't very good last year. We are actually creating slightly more steals this year than last but we are still in the bottom 10% in the country. The difference between last year is our rim protection. We clogged up the middle and made opposing teams take bad shots at the rim and we forced more outside shots. This year we have no rim protection and our block numbers and FG% defense are at the bottom of the NCAA. Anybody who looked at our roster this season could see this. We had a weakness, steals and didn't improve it, and our strength, rim protection is all but completey gone thanks to our roster construction. This isn't some new thing, I've been preaching this since July.

  9. Curcic was raised in euro ball. Euro coaches know they don’t have athletic players like the USA. So they stress D, fundamentals, muscle ball, and 3 point accuracy. Give Curcic the chance and he’ll be a solid player.

  10. i dont know the specifics. my guess is the total of what saint louis university gets for the total lease is very generous and the billikens likey get a sweetheart rate compared to the acts that they bring into the arena that arent billiken sporting events. saint louis university also wouldnt have to staff the employees to run events and possible are out of any maintenance issues as well. just depends how their lease reads. remember, saint louis university is in the business of education not running an event arena. imo thats a win for everyone.

  13. I thought all they did was sign a contract for the operations. We are still paying the bonds off so why would we set up a situation where we are paying twice - for the bonds and rent.

  14. All Crucic has to do is tell Ford he's a 6'6 wing and he'll start the next game.

  15. Every year, and I mean every single year, guys on this board latch onto one guy who has not gotten much playing time, but has hit a few three pointers when he's gotten in. Then, that guy becomes the next Larry the Legend, and the only reason he's not an NBA prospect is that the kid is not getting minutes. Have you ever seen a kid who is a walk on come off the bench in garbage time and hit two 3-pointers and the home crowd goes nuts? Curcic has about the same amount of evidence in his favor as those walk-ons. I'm not saying Curcic can't play, but there's a reason a coach who has everything on the line right now is not playing him. Could Travis be wrong? Sure. But does that mean that we know for sure that this kid is a "keeper?" No. I agree that we should give him some more time to see what he can do, but I also know we don't have nearly enough information to be drawing long term conclusions about this kid.

  16. I like Curcic. Has a nice shot, is smart and has great energy. But let's be realistic. He's not quick enough; gets beat off the ball on D and won't beat defenders off the ball on O. 3-4 minutes per half.

  17. 1. Medley is the worst pg we have ever had and needs to move on to future endeavours, which I wish him good luck in. 2. Parker has to take attempts, noone else can since Dalger is gone. 3. SVB sucks and Zhang is much better on the rebound and touch around the rim and holding position on D 4. Curcic should be playing 12-20 mins a game because he can shoot and the PGs are trash anyway 5. Ezewiro fouls intentionally to get out of the game. What team are you watching?

  18. Besides the Bills Loyola Marymount and UNLV were my favorite teams growing up. My 5 year old had a sports theme day at school a couple weeks, she had on a Gathers youth jersey thst she wore like a dress. Lots of strange looks but a few big thumbs up from parents who know hoop.

  19. TJ hits a runner at 2:28 to make it 74-70. They make a tough driving layup at 2:04, miss the and one and the ball hits heel of the rim going right to the UMass rebounder. That allowed UMass to kill another 20 seconds off the clock. After an EZ FT to make it 76-71, Parker gets beat on a back door and it’s 78-71 and ballgame. Re-watching it, Parker’s terrible play, 0-6 from the floor and his lackadaisical defense, along with being beaten by 10 on second chance points cost us the game. Not only was Parker 0-6 but his shot selection was awkward guy at the playground bad. Jimerson’s 5-13 from the floor with 3 turnovers didn’t help either. Sad to lose a game when you shoot 44% from the arc, 88% from the line and have a turnover rate of 18%.

  20. 72-61 loss for the Billikens. Thanks to defense and turnovers, Billikens managed to get 67 shot attempts to only 42 from the Spiders, but brutal shooting doomed them.

  22. I would argue that SLU has at least one very important advantage over DePaul as it relates to Moser. He knows you can win here. He was part of the staff under RM that built a top 10 team. It has been done at SLU in recent history (how far we have fallen). DePaul hasn't been relevant since when, the 1980's? Although, DePaul is the answer to an important trivia question...who was SLU's first win in the Great Midwest.

  25. This makes zero sense. How does NIL or students transferring have anything to do with these sports? Their administration decided to blast the scapegoat du jour for their decision to drop programs that generate $0 revenue. Thats all. Why can’t they just say that?
