I sometimes wonder if you realized our opponents have scholarships as well? Basketball at this level is extremely competitive and blowouts are the exception not the rule… but I get it, bitching and complaining for some is always more gratifying than praising…

One of the big reasons for a message board is discussing problems about the team you root for.  They are not only for praising the team.

If you don’t see any problems with this team that great. I’m happy for you and I mean that sincerely.

I do see issues. These issues are going to be a problem come tourney time and these issues keep popping up.
I enjoy discussing these issues how they might affect the team and opinions on what should be done to correct them.

It doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the games.

It doesn’t mean I hate Ford.

It certainly doesn’t mean I don’t want the Billikens to win all their games.

If you only want to post positive things that’s fine but I am going to keep discussing some of the issues I see.

You got me!!

Since I am just an anti Ford troll who would rather see him fired than the Bills win I suggest you put me on ignore.
It will save both of us a lot of time.

Enjoy the rest of the season.

One more thing.

Yes I think the Bills would be better served moving on from Ford but more than that I want them to win.

And you have an agenda to never just ignore a post you percieve slights the team.  That leads you to be insulting and project agendas on other posters.

I was wondering if that is why Thames isn’t playing. Ford describes him as an elite defender and we could used that last night on the perimeter.

Interesting, that my opinions are insulting, but yours and those who agree with you aren’t… I must say that speaks volumes about your  thought process….I do wonder how you think your continual bitching about the coach is helpful??? Does it help with recruiting??? Does it help encourage people to attend games? Do you think it helps the university’s image??? I’m a fan, not always a happy one but I’ve never seen the need to publicly rip the players or the coach. Try writing Chris May or the coaches, you may be pleasantly surprised by their response.

Last night you could squint and see a core for next year if Gibby returns. Hughes as a defensive specialist who grows into a scorer. Gibby just continuing to evolve. Throw in Vice and Medley, with Cisse after another summer in the weight room and there's a core of interesting players.

Don't forget Parker, hecould explode next year.  He just needs to settle down a bit.  But the kid can score.  Don't hear much about Rivera's recovery but a 6'6" guy who is quick and can score is interesting.  Wonder if he is recovered enough to practice with the team?  Anyone know if he has been with the team on game day?  Then of course Hargroves could be back.  Collins?  Doubtful, but you never know.   And that redshirt shooter Kramer, a year practice with the team could be big.  Finally there is likely 2 or 3 scholarships available for transfer portal players.

People seem to forget 7-1 Bruce Zhang, he may be invisible because he received no PITBULL.

Yes of course Parker. Parker, Hughes, Medley seems like a decent A-10 backcourt with potential for more.

Looking back on this season, it's been tough to stomach considering how much promise there was, and that they were right there with a chance of redemption against Auburn. After the 10 minute mark of the Auburn game, it seemed to go downhill and hasn't totally stopped.

Looking back, Perkins just hasn't been that guy, other than a few flashes. I love JP, but Parker probably should have gotten a lot of those minutes and gotten up to speed with Division 1 basketball. The Thatch loss has hurt. Ford loved what Pickett could do and probably buried TJ prematurely and let Pickett play through bad stretches too frequently.

At this point I'd take 13-5, capped by a win against Dayton at home, a trip to the A-10 finals.

At the beginning of the season, I thought there was Sweet 16 potential. Now if they do somehow get to the Dance, it would most likely result in the 2019 showing versus V-Tech. Which again, I'd gladly take.

The real issue is whether Ford can grab one transfer big who can be the difference between 8th and 3rd or 4th in the A-10.

I fully expect Hargrove and Collins to leave. Jimerson might stay because he missed most of his freshman year.

OK re-read my post then read your post. You're insulting me by saying my criticism of the coach is "continual bitching". Fans can criticize their coach, their team's performance, and still be fans.  You project that those that do aren't fans which is insulting to many of us.

Perhaps your over reaction to any criticism is because you realize that the coach isn't performing to expectations.  Instead of giving a measured critique of the performance you lash out at those that prick the bubble of your self-imposed delusion that things are going well.  Just a theory.

Message boards are about discussing sports, good, bad, sometimes ugly it seems that may not be a good forum for you.  If you stuck to only official SLU AD press releases you'd be happier as it is their job to promote the team, recruiting etc.  It's not my job.

I've expressed my opinions to AD May on a couple of occasions as it is my right as a double SLU Grad and big fan.

I'll admit to having flamed some anti-SLU trolls and maybe a couple annoying real fans but not over CTF.  I've been measured and rational in my critique of CTF.  So it's unclear where your ire stems except perhaps your own frustrations.

-it was good to Pickett back to how he played earlier in the season, health goes a long way, but I would like to see someone else inbounding the ball or we come up with a different play than throwing it in the damn corner and then CFord was upset with LHJ and his go at it (after a full timeout)

-for those interested, Ohio St has the record, per the NCAA, with 14 consecutive made 3pt shots

-was this another game where we didn't foul a 3pt shooter? is that 3 in a row?

Big Bill fan has the honor of being the only person I have on Ignore. Big bill hates himself but feels the need to take it out on everyone else in every single one of his posts which are filled with nothing but ad hominems and an incredible amount of anger. No one needs that toxicity.

I never once said you didn’t have the right to your opinion, the one who wants to censor dissent is you. I was wrong it’s not the you continually ***** about the Coach it’s just that you constantly criticize the coach, even after wins… thanks for pointing out that important difference.. it’s sad you can’t see the irony, the ones who are angry are the ones who can’t tolerate someone who supports the current coach… it’s also noteworthy that none of the Ford haters can name any benefits to their constant“criticism” outside of the obvious of encouraging the administration to blow up the program.
ok, now back to the discussion of those prized recruits. Maybe we can speculate where they go once Ford is hopefully fired.

I will shoot my shot here...I have been very hard on Coach Ford the last couple seasons because, quite frankly, the NIT is an unacceptable result. Travis Ford has done a lot of very good things here...dug out from the last guy's mess, recruited good players, and has raised the competitive level a long way. Yes, there are times I wanted to blow it up (the post-Covid year being one). But that's not going to happen. I bet most of this board wants the Bills to be playing meaningful games in March, and it's happened once in 4 seasons that we can fairly grade Ford on (2 rebuild years and no tournament year). I do not think there is any way Coach Ford isn't on the sidelines at Chaifetz absent a major scandal. This was supposed to be "the year"...it hasn't been so far. That, more than anything, is the source of a lot of frustration. The recruits aren't going anywhere, because Coach Ford will be here next season.
