  1. I need Mack more than anything, he's in a league of his own above the other candidates.
  2. I still have some faith. You don't pay the 10+ million dollar buyout and take someone as risky as Ahearn or that's going to be a complete Ford retread like a Weber or Crean. I feel like they will go full steam ahead towards getting a proven commodity. I have faith in the Chaifetz and other boosters to make a full run at Mack, Moser, and Holtmann rather than jumping at Ahearn who no one else is going after and appears to begging for the job. They aren't as dumb as the people on this board are making them seem.
  3. Moser should be in a tier of his own at the top, Mack should be in Tier 1. In my opinion.
  4. Travis clearly cares a lot about the school and the city. Love the way that he bought in and truly cares about the community. With that said, college basketball is a tough business that's all about results. Results haven't been where they need to be and SLU has given him more than enough time to try to get those results. Nothing personal, but his time is here and there's no other option at this point.
  5. Lot of college basketball insiders are reporting he's going to be interviewing for Ohio State and potentially Michigan.
  6. Any insight on the other schools we will be competing against for head coaching candidates? Big openings will be DePaul, Vanderbilt, Creighton?
  7. We can trim Jay Wright. Better chance at landing Brad Stevens
  8. Was hoping for a sunday morning news dump. Rumors past few days appear to be incorrect.
  9. I tweeted that rich chaifetz should be embarrassed to have his name on the court where that team last night was playing. I stand by that take and would tweet that at him every day until that clown travis ford is gone and the program gives that court something to be proud of.
  10. @MariaReynolds thoughts on tonight’s performance?
  11. Out of genuine curiosity into the retain ford side of the equation - what are your main driving factors for wanting to stick with Travis?
  12. I would never question the work ethic of the players - the guys have consistently worked their tails off this entire season and I'm grateful for every single one of them. But if the state of our program is celebrating losses to our biggest rival because the game was "close." Then this is a program that I, and I assume many others, don't want to be a fan of moving forward. We play the games to win. We work all season to make the tournament. We keep setting arbitrary goals (play close on the road to a ranked Dayton team, win 20 games, etc.) to make us feel okay with underachieving. I would have died for this program 3 years ago, now I am struggling to even pay attention. If the leadership continues to show that they are okay with mediocrity, then they will continue to lose more and more fans like myself.
  13. Any evidence that any of the active SLU basketball boosters are fed up with the state of the program?
  14. Is there any possible way to defend what Ford is doing here? Going into this year, I was pro ford. I didn’t think he deserved to be fired after last year, clearly regret that thought process now. Theres no way to spin what has happened this year. We’re 231 in the NET and the laughing stock of the conference. If Fords not fired after this year, then I will never watch another SLU basketball game again.
  15. Agreed, but I don't know how many coaches out there would instantly get attendance up at chaifetz that would be realistic options for us to bring in. I think a good young coach could gain excitement not around their name but around bringing in a new batch of exciting players, playing a new brand basketball, and winning early.
  16. Went through a couple of online articles and a few discussions on the blog and put together my view of the coaching candidate landscape. Pedigree and difficulty (likelihood we could actually land them) are on a scale of 1-10. Again, purely speculation but thought I would share my thoughts.
  17. We should be able to do much better than Harriman.
  18. https://www.lubbockonline.com/story/sports/college/red-raiders/2023/03/10/texas-tech-former-coach-mark-adams-agree-to-settlement/69996002007/ If that comes out to 3.5 million dollars then my point is mute
  19. There's also a reason he didn't get the full 7.5 million buyout that he would've had they fired him without cause...
  20. Weird time for sure, there were plenty of calls in and out of Creighton for Mcdermott to be fired after his absurd plantation comments, they also lost one of their top recruits, TyTy Washington, after these comments came out. Team basically turned their back on him for the remainder of that season following those comments as well. Everything has turned around for Creighton, but at the time this was a big big issue with the team. Tough decision on the intention of these comments, etc. but in my opinion both Adams and McDermott's comments were so insane and misguided that both could have justifiably been fired.
  21. don't think we need the quotes there
  22. Sincere should get zero blame for this, those refs were power hungry. Kid was the most impressive player on the court all night, encouraging signs after a tough first game.
