Yeah, there was the Iowa State rumor without any confirmation. He didn't play this last season at Poplar Bluff because of a knee injury, but then there are rumors that he's been expelled and his HS for this next season is still TBD. The last time he publicly said anything about his recruitment was in December, when he said that Mizzou, LSU, and Nebraska were working hardest, but that Iowa State and a few others were also involved.

If anyone can help me figure out the mystery of Marcedus Leech, it'd be greatly appreciated. Regardless of what's going on, I'd hate to see a kid who was once a fringe top-50 player disappear.

Sad to hear.  He seems to have issues wherever he goes.  Bradley Beal...Gateway.  Prior to last year he was rumored to come play for a STL school but his Dad didn't think he was mature enough at the time.  If he has been expelled...maybe he was right.  Kid had a lot of potential.  Hope things work out for him.

The word on the "street" here in Poplar Bluff is that, after a year of significant medical issues, Marcedus Leech has moved to Arkansas---possibly Jonesboro.   Too bad!   Great talent.  Hope everything works out for him.  No word here on college interest/offers/commitments.  Will continue to snoop around!

(Just preserving this for archival purposes):

Terrence Hargrove, Jr. - SF, 6-6, 180 - East St. Louis, IL (East St. Louis) - Twitter: @TerrenceHargro1

Offers: SLU, Mizzou, Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri State, Illinois State, Cleveland State.

Interest: Creighton, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa State, Tulsa, Bradley, Portland State.

Latest News: Hargrove visited Missouri State this weekend. (6/25/18)

Scouting Report: Hargrove is an explosively athletic wing who rebounds extremely well, loves to push the ball, and is a big-time dunker. He's shown strong defensive ability, and brings a lot of energy and toughness to the floor. He has to work on his handles and jumper, but has shown improvement in both; he has a good work ethic and high ceiling. Rankings: Rivals - 147, Prep Hoops - 96, 247sports - 227, Future150 - 142.

The fact that Illinois had not offered TH when they are ranked # 143 in the top 144 ranking website maybe shows that Underwood is not the coach they seem so high on.  How could they have not offered one of the top players in the state?

Interest means the school has talked with the kid and shown some "interest" in him but not enough to offer and maybe never.

The geography got them. They thought East St. Louis was in Missouri.

They probably saw that TH was a Mizzou "lock".

Yeah, they played the wait-and-see game with him longer than I expected.

did he show up on all metro teams + HM or any all star teams?

He was on the Illinois Class 3A All-State first team this season, the P-D's All-Metro third team, and I'm sure there are others that I'm either forgetting or not aware of.

Finally!

Been waiting on that Tandy offer to happen. As a refresher:

Dekeyvan 'Kyky' Tandy - SG, 6-2, 180 - Hopkinsville, KY (University Heights Academy) - Twitter: @TandyDekeyvan

Offers: SLU, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Iowa State, K-State, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, WKU, New Mexico State.

Interest: Xavier, Creighton, Louisville, Wake Forest, Boston College, Michigan, Kentucky, South Carolina, LSU, Vanderbilt, Wichita State.

Latest News: Tandy received an offer from SLU. He was excellent at the recent NextUpRecruits Camp. (7/6/18)

Scouting Report: Tandy is a very athletic high-volume scorer who averaged over 30 points per game as a junior. He scores on all three levels, using his bounce and athleticism to get to the rim with ease and making his 3-pointers at above 40%. He's an excellent passer with great vision, and loves to run in transition. He has great handles and can blow by defenders in either direction. He's got a strong frame and plays tough on both ends. Rankings: Rivals - 87, Prep Hoops - 101, 247sports - 137, Future150 - 144, ESPN - 88.

Tandy's dad went on Kentucky Sports Radio a couple months ago to talk about a potential UK offer. They had been showing interest but Tandy and his family wanted an offer. Anyway, his dad said that he didn't want Kyky to play backup to a bunch of one-and-dones, that he should get a UK offer and be a starter and wasn't going to sit on the bench behind anyone. Well, they haven't heard from UK since. To his credit, Kyky handled it really well. He said he was disappointed and that his dad probably shouldn't have said that, but that he'll be all right.

I like this kid's game a lot. We've now offered two of the top three kids in Kentucky's 2019 class. The top kid, David Johnson, had committed to Louisville but later decommitted. He's still considered a Louisville lean, though.

I got a good feeling about this.  If Kentucky ends up offering at some point, we are obviously out.  I just think if they stay out we have a really good shot.

If you showed this post and his list of offers to 2008 brianstl, what would 2008 brianstl think?
