  1. SLU has offered 2025 PG, Aaron Rowe, from Tolton in Columbia, MO. I know this kid very well both on the court and personally. He's going to be a blue chip prospect. 6'0 already, freakish athletic traits. Works incredibly hard with skills trainer, Pep Stanciel. The sky is the limit. For perspective he played up a year on Mokan's 15u and had 27 points in a Peach Jam game.

  2. I know it’s an exhibition but Jordan was essentially playing the Bradley Beal role for them down the stretch. Only judging from this highlight video. iso ball for Goodwin in an NBA uniform is something I never thought I’d see. His offense looks wildly improved from when he left SLU. I’m rooting for him so hard

  3. Realistically I'm unsure. In my eyes SLU is a top 30-40 program in the Country so I always think they SHOULD have a shot at local talent. With that being said... I think Aaron is going to be a major blue blood target, possibly even G-League, Overtime, or Pro but time will tell!

  4. I love watching Pedro Guerrero throwing his glove down in disgust as the ball flys over his head.

  5. Not trying to be a jerk, but I’d be willing to bet every other team in the playoffs is saying something similar about the Cardinals. They’ve gone on a remarkable run, but you can’t just completely dismiss the 1st 5 months of the season when they were basically a .500 ball club. I’ll be rooting for the Cards tonight, but let’s pump the brakes a bit.

  6. The game is tomorrow night. Let's do it. Beat LA! I will be there, with my camouflage Cardinal cap. Safety first.

  7. One thought on this team. We seem to have an abundance of talent, albeit unproven and we’re all guilty of over hype during preseason practices. See Vashon Newburn for proof. But, if this talent is real, I think Travis is going to have to take a page out of FL State’s book and spread around the minutes just keep players involved in the team before me theme.

  8. Maybe because one of those six is only five.

  9. I think you have to put Okoro in the second six just to give that team a fighting chance.

  10. The top 144 countdown started in late June. Bates and Duren didn't commit until August. The Memphis article is dated today, but I'm guessing the #35 ranking was set in advance of the #144 article released in June. I'm assuming they rank 1-144 and then do write ups on each one that may in some cases be written in advance with edits done as they come out. Not sure how they could do it otherwise because you can't really start rearranging mid-way through. We already knew these rankings aren't worth the digital ink we're spilling about them. The fact that they're decided so far in advance adds to that.

  13. If the Cardinals win tonight, I think they take the whole thing. The Dodgers are the only team that truly scares me in a five or seven game series. Glad that we have the chance to take them out in one game.

  14. Worth pointing out that Rashad and Jalen Moore both played for the same school last season.

  15. If the SLU endowment is at $1.5b, that's a 25% increase from the $1.2b reported for 2020, which seems pretty good (if not transformational) and is consistent with an average of the S&P and Dow over the last year.

  17. From the 3-point line, maybe. But we’ll NEVER see a SLU team shoot better from the charity stripe than the ‘19-‘20 Billikens. That team will go down in history for their free throw shooting!

  19. The athleticism of this roster is absurd, yes, but let's not overlook that it's arguably the best shooting roster we've had in memory. There's so much to be excited about.

  20. I think most people know I was a volleyball manager a year under Anne Kordes. I have a great love and respect for Anne the coach and person. That being said I harbored a bit of resentment about her leaving for Louisville until I got to see her again a few years after. My appreciation for what Anne did at SLU and what she showed is possible here has probably jaded me towards Kent in a way he could never come back from. Anne was a firecracker, she was charismatic and a people person. She can dominate a conversation in the best way possible and work a room. Kent Miller is reserved, quiet and soft spoken. He doesn’t inspire excitement either through personality or his on court coaching. He doesn’t have that same fire. I know a lot of alumni share some of my feelings regarding Kent. I’ll wait to be positive about where this season is heading until they play Dayton. He deserves full marks for winning at VCU. This is a team that can punch up when they run into a good team that can’t stop Maya Taylor, but they don’t have the depth to truly consistently go after good teams. I have no interest in talking about any of the other wins in the non-conference because the schedule he put together might be the easiest I’ve ever seen for a Billiken volleyball team. But I need to reiterate that over Miller’s tenure there is UD and VCU at the top of the conference a bit of a gap, SLU, a huge pile of dog poo and then the rest of the league. So color me skeptical until they visit Ohio.

  21. I think the funniest part of this is that not even all that long ago, we didn't even sarcastically use blue font asking if certain recruits could dunk. It was a semi serious question. That advancement of athletic talent on this roster is something we used to only dream of.

  22. Correctamundo. And the way the A's are being treated in Oakland, including by the woke local government, the San Francisco based and pro-Giants Bay Area Media, and a certain other team allegedly running interference behind the scenes, you would never know the A's have 9 World Championships (to the Giants 8), 4 of them in Oakland (to the Giants 3 in SF, and the Giants have been out here 10 years longer). Oakland is in danger of losing 3 professional sports franchises in a matter of several years, the NBA Golden State Warriors, who moved back to San Francisco, away from their East Bay fanbase, the Raiders of the NFL (for a 2nd time), and the A's. Oakland decided to keep the A's ahead of the Raiders, the latter of whom are Oakland, and now risks losing the A's too. You can't legislate stupidity. But by all means, save the whales!
