  1. because it is a fluff piece that non scientifically discuss in vitro response of the virus to the "aptmer". They have not done any clinical trial to see if there is an effect. In vitro response does not automatically equate to human response.

  2. Hell no, the train wreck is a lot more interesting with all the mangled equipment and the surrounding field destruction. At Tiger board you just have self entitled prissy people showing their perceived superiority. A train wreck has real substance, Tiger board has the substance of a bean fart, ethereal and stinky at the same time.

  3. The pitchforks have been out for a while. I am not sure they would have been patient with coach Ford either. Programs need time to build and grow and get the recruiting pipeline going when the program builds momentum. I think coach Ford understands a mid major that pays well in a good town is better than taking a job in a power 5 conference. I like SLU’s chances in 2020 & 2021 recruits, the pipeline has been established. Be well

  4. We are going to have players coming off the bench that would start on almost if not every Billiken team I've ever seen. We've had teams where I knew we were sure Tourney teams but I never felt like we had a great chance to make the sweet 16 without a great draw or an upset in our bracket. The Majerus teams were good and so fundamentally sound but I wasn't shocked when we lost. If Has and Goodwin are back any loss will be a huge disappointment to me (yes, I know we will have them) but we will go into every game with me believing we can win and in the large majority that we should win. If Has and JGood come back I'll feel like anything less than a sweet 16 appearance next season is a let down.

  6. The problem with today's NBA is it's a monoculture. Every team's style of play is very similar. There's not a single team playing bully ball. Goodwin could have gotten a look from the 1980s Detroit Pistons or 1990s New York Knicks but the coaches who employed those strategies are long gone from the profession.

  7. Agree with what you said on NBA scouts finding him unique and could be intrigued by his skill set. He is unique. I’d like a list how many guards in NCAA Division 1 history have averaged a double double with rebounds. There wont be a sabermetrics department in the league where this won’t be brought up. If he’s looking for exposure and a platform to show off this talent, a preseason top 30-35 team in the country primed to win the conference and compete in the tourney is pretty ideal for any prospect coming out. We expect to attract national attention next season with JGood as the unquestioned leader. Up his shooting percentages a touch and keep his motor going and he will have a chance at getting drafted in the 2nd round in 2021. He’ll sign a better 2nd round rookie contact that the UDFA and it all works out. Like I said in an earlier post, I think it will become an easy decision. He’s all in on Team Blue.

  8. Hoosier fans don't care about personality, they care about outcomes. They measure success in Big Ten titles and runs to the championship game because that's what peak Bobby Knight delivered. The level of success Majerus had at SLU and in his last few years at Utah would not have been nearly good enough.

  9. And most of all, he can complete his college degree. Sure he can make some bucks playing pro b-ball, but the degree will pay him dividends for his future beyond hoops. I think he comes back. Professional ball, at whatever level will still be there. Sure, go pro if he has round 1 NBA potential. But .....

  10. Unless Archie gets it turned around there, and by that I mean like makes a Final 4 or two, he'll be gone. According to my IU friends, IU fans don't take to his personality all that well either. Hell, IU fired Davis two seasons after making a Final 4. I see a likely return to the A10 in Archie's future. It's tough for any coach to succeed a legend. UNC, UCLA, IU are examples just to name a few. Whoever follows Coach K, Boeheim, and Calipari are going to find themselves in the hot seat from day 1.

  11. Agree. Obviously there are a lot of bad situations right now, but I do feel for these guys like Goodwin and French who declared for the draft in the hopes of getting in front of NBA teams and receiving feedback regardless of their chances of being drafted. I would be curious to hear if they get anything out of the process given the situation.

  12. Good thoughts. A few more. First, Mizzou certainly had its fair share of bad luck/injuries/unexpected negative happenings. Odd near season ending injury Michael Porter and recently Tilmon. But who had excelled and thrived in Columbia under Martin? Who on their team never quits? Who elevates the play of guys around them? Who is their unselfish defensive stopper? Sure, Tilmon has been good/solid when healthy but who is lining up to have the career he has had? Mario McKinney quit. Torrence Watson regressed his Soph year and could not average 5 ppg. Mark Smith has been good but not great. Javon Pickett averageed 6 ppg. Losing conference seasons. No chance for NCAA Tourney. Nowhere close to being a bubble team. Where is the talk/hype of playing for Mizzou in the SEC? Are things better under Martin than they were under Haith? Seems more like the same. In contrast, we lost 4 guys due to S2, then lost Santos, followed by our top rated recruit in Gordon after half a season, lost 1 of our Big 3 for nearly the whole season, lost out best outside shooter for the season on a perimeter shooting challeneged team - and yet guys stepped up, never quit, personally improved, somehow learned to play defense, somehow learned to play together, put the team avoided dissension and went to the NCAA Tourney last year - and were on our way to the Dance again this year - certainly a bubble team - with all the new faces in our rebuilding year. Next year, we are poised to take a further leap. And K-State? Again, bottom dweller of the Big 12. Yawn. Few coaches are better salemen than Bruce Weber who has deep St. Louis contacts/ties along with Chris Lowery. But how much did Stockard improve and excel under them? How many NCAA Tournaments have they made? Who is lining up at Vashon to be the next Stockard? Davion Bradford looks like a good player - though we already had Bell and Diarra. Luke Kasubke looks like a good pick up - though Jimerson was already at SLU.

  13. As you said in your post it’s a train wreck and I do this with political sites. I like confirmation that future local recruits will pick SLU over MU I did not like losing out on Watson and Tilmon to MU. Even though those players have never reached their potential they might have on team blue. Other posters have stated KSU is the biggest recruiting rival I think that will change when SLU becomes a strong mid major program similar to Butler. Big East or bust.

  15. As it pertains to JGood and French, hands down the two most important pierces of our team, I’d say there’s a 95% chance they’re both back. The odds were already stacked against them talent-wise (JGood needs to develop a more consistent jumper and French can’t play bully ball at 6’7 at the next level). Add in the pandemic where teams aren’t even hosting workouts for prospects, it makes it even harder for those fringe NBA guys to come to the surface. I think it will end up being a fairly simple choice for them.

  16. I popped over there for the first (and last) time yesterday. HUGE shout out to the Bilikens.com mods for this functional and efficient format. What the hell is that over at Tiger Board? Headers upon headers melding into disjointed lists. It's worse than a 1995 AOL chatroom.

  20. Roy, first you cast backhand disparagement at a student’s actual academic interests by attending certain schools, and then you say you are not knocking the student, merely the institutions. You are trying to have it both ways. We have had students come from Chicago And CPL schools like Phillips, Simeon, Foreman, Proviso, North Chicago, and numerous other disadvantaged high schools where academics were not of the highest standard, yet the students succeeded at SLU. We have had a similar stream of students from St. Louis public schools, Vashon, Beaumont, Soldan, etc. Without knowing a student’s exact situation, it may not be wise to judge why they need to transfer. In Chicago, just as much recruiting happens to private schools as within the CPL, so it baffles me how the better education plank can justify an immoral act, but the better b-ball team cannot. The four year college degree is meant to help balance out and fill in many of the first 12 years of a weaker educational regime. If not for these very players and their schools you disparage, we would probably be a DII/III team now.

  21. Hey 72, love your list. This is probably nitpicking, but if Hargrove isn’t starting in ‘21-‘22, I’ll be shocked. Although, I’m not sure who I would remove from your starter list either. Lol what a time to be a Billikens fan!

Hmmm....Top 50 of 267 vs top 64 of 353 ......Maybe I should setup a bracket and see if we can predict a Final 4.

  25. Not sure where you would get your "Oh ye, of little faith" comment? If you would check at least the last year of my posts, I think you will find that I am as positive about the team and its coaches as any poster. I know you and Bilikin Ray are buddies, but as a SLU grad, I would hope you spell better than him!
