  1. Whats your point? Would there be some sort of honor or glory that the biggest cancer on the program in history quit or got asked to leave. He was a huge talent that had no head and not one player liked him. Recruiting him likely kept other bigs from coming to slu that would have actually helped the team. Instead we got this egotistical cancer that believed he was too good and more important than anyone else. He's now had the same scenario play out twice more. I.e. 3 programs in less than a year. He's a walking disaster that sure as hell doesnt deserve discussion here.

  3. You're correct, Dr C was probably the most important part the program's resurgence. Should of mentioned him.

  4. Okay, I will say it. Maybe, Travis Ford outcoached Bruce Weber? Maybe Ford’s game plan was better.? Maybe French struggled abit more due to injury, not practicing all week and not having Jimerson in the lineup. Maybe we won by “only” 3 bc we were missing our 3rd leading scorer (GJ) as well as our Big Three guy/defensive specialist (Thatch) and French was nicked up and out of sync. The great Final Four Coach and Power 5 coach Bruce Weber? The great upstart young Coach Lowrey who kept the SIUC machine going previously run by Weber? Weber and Lowrey started their K State rebuild prior to Ford. They benefit with the draw of the Big 12 v A10. They had four year starter in Sneed. This was their year. Almost home game in KC. Instead, their starters held at or below season averages as our our freshmen and new faces stepped up. Yep, Coach Ford is due credit. And yes, a win is a win.

  5. I live outside the blackout area and have gotten every game this year on ESPN+ but the Seton Hall game and one game that was on ESPN2 (I have ESPN2 on my cable package so got that one too) I will get the Bethune-Cookman game on ESPN+. The schedule right now show 10 of the remainder games on ESPN+. I will get more than that as some of the other games are on ESPN2, CBSSN or could be added later by ESPN+. Add all that up and it looks like I will get at least 25 games during the regular season, 20 minimum on ESPN+. Well worth $4.95 a month. And cast games to my 65" TV.

  6. What.... Forcing him out sounds way worse for the program than him quitting on the team. We want people to think he quit. Not the team quit on him. Also, can we please just let this topic die and focus on the positives of this decade.

  8. I'm not too concerned about depth either. Historically Travis Ford has gone with an 8 man rotation. He could go 9 deep now, but seems to have chosen 8. When Thatch comes back, he could go 9 or 10 if he so elects.

  9. yes he does. talked with some of the Webster coaches/ basketball alum over the holidays. No real news other than most things posted about what he has done are true. Also while at SLU he should have gotten a gun charge but someone took the hit. On a personal note, the kid who took the hit is someone I grew up with, neighbors of Gordon. Hes a really good guy and it sounds like he did it because Gordon had a promising future in basketball and he was trying to help with that. wow, that really is not worth it now.

  10. Everyone just make sure you click on the article, even a couple of times . We need to show the PD that there is interest in the Billikens and they measure that by clicks.

  12. I believe Joe Bonwich told us once that’s the editor’s style decision, not Stu’s. But notice that the cutline says Saint Louis.

  14. +1 and on a related note, laws and contracts make little to no distinction as to an employee who quits or gets fired. Many are given the choice to resign and accept a benefit package or be fired. Either way, the writing is on the wall and employees either get forced out, made to feel so bad they quit... why the relevance ?

  15. Just quickly glanced over our remaining schedule and I can't see a game we lose. Pretty sure we run it out, only 2 losses headed into Brooklyn.

  16. 'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the Fetz Nothing was stirring, not even the nets; The banners were hung from the rafters with care, In hopes that The Wiz would soon be there; The fans were nestled all snug in their seats; With visions of Bills wins, while they munched on their treats. And Mama in her sweatshirt, and I in Bills blue Had just settled in to watch a rebound or two. When on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash And then flung open the door, in a very mad dash The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow, Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below; When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,, But a basketball team as quick as reindeer, With a little old driver, so lively and all biz, I knew in a moment it must be The Wiz. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled and shouted and called them by name: Now! Goodwin, now! Yuri, now! Has, oh my lord, On! Perkins, on! Jacobs, on! Jimerson, and Ford; To the top of Gate A ! To the top of the wall ! " Now dash away ! Dash away ! Dash away all !" As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky; So up to the arena top the coursers they flew, With a sleigh load of stats and The Wiz too: And then in a twinkling I heard on the floor The bouncing of b-balls making baskets galore. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down Section 103 The Wiz came with a bound: He was dressed all in Bills gear, from his head to his toe, And his clothes were all blue, he was ready to go; A bundle of spreads was flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack: His eyes- how they twinkled ! His dimples: how merry, His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry; His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a broad face, and a little round belly That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly: He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head Soon gave me to know that The Wiz had a spread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And calculated point spreads, ; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose And giving a nod,… BAM …up the concourse he rose. He sprang in the Chaifetz , to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle: But I heard him exclaim, as he shouted out clear-- BILLIKENS WILL WIN, it is better this year. To all that follow the Billiken Biz Merry Christmas to all , best wishes from The Wiz

  17. Sustained success starts at the top. Addition by subtraction with Fr Biondi. I sure hope Coach Ford stays a long time... but our program is in good shape now.

  18. Speaking of CLO I got good chuckle that Kstate all of a sudden played Joker and a Thief before tip and everyone claps along. Oddly similar to a school just east of us that CLO and Weber coached at.

  19. It's about context. It's a very good win for a young team in a hostile environment. They had a chance to fold and they didn't. Has wasn't near 100%. Jimerson out. Thatch out. KC basically out. Young guys and new guys stepped up. This is the type of win that can pay dividends later in the season (much like the close loss to Auburn likely helped out here).

  21. In other words, KState sucks. They are probably one of the two worst team in the Big 12. Beating them by 3, even on the road, isn't that great of a victory.
