We are going to have to make free throws from here on out.

And we did.

Great win. I’ve watched this exact game 10 times this year.

Great stretches followed by lulls in shot making, rebounding, and turnovers.  We take punches all afternoon.

But when the cards are on the table we show up.  It’s a resilient group.  What’s unique about this group is how drastic the swings often are in these games.  We can look like a 2nd weekend team and give up a 15-0 run in the same half.

Basketball is a game of streaks.  We do seem to have more both ways than a lot of other teams.

Correct.  Streakiest SLU team I can remember.  Double digit lead or deficit means nothing.

Swope and Jimerson at the end of games has been nothing short of special to me

Day Games= Day Drinking!

My Tanqueray and tonic helped me get through this heart stopper. Now lets play Loyola like we did 2 weeks ago 😊

A lot of teams would love to have our Big 3, who are playing elite basketball.

The Big 3 plus 3 pretty good role players in Anya, Kobe, and McCottrey will certainly give Loyola cause for concern.

Anya and Mcottrey were perfect from the field

Swope and Gibson were 11/20 from deep

Avila flirted with a triple double

Get TOs under 10 and clean up the O boards a bit, we can dance

The team won. Exerted more energy than they needed to after a hot start but they trailed about two total minutes. Loyola is comparatively ranked on Kenpom and looking to avenge the thumping they took on 3/1. It's a 50/50 game but we have the best players.

Then it's a balls out game, most likely vs. VCU. I really hope the Schertz considers playing Warlick more in that game. His physicality was key in the victory over VCU.

SLU's MBB team has a lot of injuries and people who cannot play. But we just do not give up. Regardless of what the opposition does, we fight to the end. We did today and we won. Now we have to beat Loyola tomorrow, and, with divine help, St. Bona has to beat VCU tomorrow to help clearing our path to the finals. Whichever way it goes, we will do our very best to get  the job done. Go Bills!

One more win gets us to the Travis 20!   But overall nice win.   Game played out kind of like they all do this year.  Conference tournaments are always special though.  Sometimes dudes playing in likely their final game (Zach Laput) go off.    Tomorrow should be fun.

Anya +11, Bailey -9 for what it's worth.

Anya was excellent defensively and remember, he has to cover for a lot of Robbie's shortcomings, and his rebound that led to bucket was huge because the game was starting to slip away at that point.
