CBFan Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 For a chance of an at large and to ease the pain of yesterdays no show this is a must win game. Come on experienced guys get it done. Quote
Old guy Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 This may not be the proper place to post this, but here is the Team Rankings evaluation of the game against Maryland and our probability of winning against Providence. We sank down in their rankings from 40 to 58, but have a probability of 60% to win over Providence. The Vegas spread this morning gives SLU an expected win over Providence of 2 pts. Believe what you want but we are still favored to win this one. We will see if reality equals probability or not today. All is not lost. Saint Louis Basketball Predictions Update Nov 20, 2022 • After losing to Maryland 95-67 yesterday, Saint Louis is now projected to finish the regular season 22-9 (13-5 Atlantic 10). • The odds that the Billikens make the NCAA tournament are down to 57%, a decrease of 19% since yesterday. • We currently rank Saint Louis as the #58 team in the country, and the #2 team in the Atlantic 10. • Next game: Sun, Nov 20 vs. #84 Providence. Our power ratings give the Billikens a 60% chance to win. Bracketology Projections Make NCAA Tournament Get Automatic NCAA Bid Projected Seed (if Selected) 57% 23% 9 • Saint Louis is right on the bubble. If they fail to get an NCAA tournament automatic bid (by winning the Atlantic 10 tournament) they'll have about a 50/50 shot of getting an at-large bid. • As for an automatic bid ... Saint Louis has a 23% chance to win the conference tournament. They're more likely than not to lose, but they do have a reasonable shot at winning. • If the Billikens can get to 25 total wins (including conference tournament wins), their odds to make the NCAA tournament increase to 84%. • We project the Billikens with a 7% chance to make the Sweet Sixteen and a 1% chance to reach the Final Four. Old guy Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Be careful with allowing your expectations to fly loose, you do not want a repeat of the crash you had last night. Probability is probability and a 2 point spread is not indicative of a certain win. Quote

dlarry Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 This team comes out mad and hammers them. OldGuy you can take the 2 point spread and the tempering of expectations and blow it out your ass! Vegas doesn’t know squat. I however, know what I’m talking about! Quote
Dr. Holly Hills Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Not a season defining game here, but we need a win bad after yesterday. Quote
NYBilliken Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 I am looking for a win by Billikens PLUS another strong win by Maryland to put yesterday's disaster in better perspective. dlarry 1 Quote

Bay Area Billiken Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 SLU is a 2 point favorite at ESPN and 2.5 point favorite at CBS Sports, o149.5. Providence plays 5 transfers in its top 6, the point guard from St. Joe’s, both bigs from LaSalle, a 6’7” forward, its leading scorer yesterday from Kentucky. Providence, RI is only an hour drive away, 59 miles. This will be a de facto Providence home game. SLU is the better team, has more experience playing together. SLU should win today’s game. Now go out and get it done. Quote

Taj79 Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 I am stunned we are favored. Almost bet the Friars. I doubt they fill this arena today but you never know. Bynum, Crosswell and Moore were not good in the A10 so we shall see. Quote
