stlsfinest Posted August 6, 2013 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Cook played extremely well for me this summer. He does not have the height of Gillman, nor does he have the strong body of Ike. However, his offensive skill set on the block and feel for the game are arguably the best in St. Louis right now. He just picked up offers from TN - Martin and Western Illinois last night. Hollins actually played for Terrell Ramey's team this summer, but he and Cook had been longtime aau teammates prior to this year. When I see kids pick Belmont over SLU and others, I naturally wonder if SLU really wanted him still, if SLU told him to wait... Same with the kid who apparently narrowed all of his choices down to UMKC (Div. 2 right?), DePaul (plays like a Div 2 school) a middle of the pack Valley school. At the same time, a lot of the information appears to be coming from the recruits themselves as opposed to from SLU and staff. When I see kids pick Belmont over SLU and others, I naturally wonder if SLU really wanted him still, if SLU told him to wait... Same with the kid who apparently narrowed all of his choices down to UMKC (Div. 2 right?), DePaul (plays like a Div 2 school) a middle of the pack Valley school. Are we sure Jim Crews/SLU really wants this type of player?? I think UMKC is Division I. You may be thinking of UMSL here, which IS Division II.
