  1. That whole reclassify and sign as a 2015 recruit was a plan worked out with Haith. No Haith, no Mizzou offer retention.
  2. Once again, SLU definitely offered Ronnie shortly after he attended their elite camp last June. He would be a nice pick up for the Billikens. I've seen him many times. He's currently playing aau for Gateway Basketball Club. 6'5 shooter that plays hard on both ends of the floor. Great character kid and good student.
  3. SLU offered Ronnie prior to his verbal to Mizzou. They are in fact recruiting him now as a 2015 prospect.
  4. I'm pretty sure that you'll want O.G. Anunoby on this list as a player with high interest. 6'7 combo forward out of Jefferson City HS. He received a lot of attention at SLU's Elite Camp back in June.
  5. I don't think so. A lot of people thought he was a lock for MIzzou until Ronnie Suggs gave them a verbal for 2015.
  6. No. Ervin Sarajlic will probably land a D2 program. He is good enough to be a preferred walk-on at SLU, but I haven't heard anything that leads me to believe that is his plan. He is a combo forward that can shoot the deep ball. He's more of a wing than a post. I hear that he is a very good student, and I've seen schools such as a Truman State check out a few games this season. To my knowledge has a twin brother, Elvir, that has given a verbal to Wash-U for track and field.
  7. I imagine that SLU is starting to take an interest in 6'5 Donovan Franklin of O'Fallon (IL) HS. He had a strong summer with the STL Eagles, and he's been looking pretty good this fall. http://www.chicagohoops.hoops247.com/index.php/2011-08-04-18-06-26/1794-donovan-franklin-talks-summer
  8. I'm not sure why Coach Tony Irons should be a red flag. He deserves a clean slate. The socio-economic variables of St. Louis City are more of a valid factor than a particular athletics coach when it comes to a student meeting academic standards. The basketball coach is hired to coach basketball, not ensure that a student qualifies academically for NCAA athletic participation. There are many kids (competitive athlete or not) from both public and private schools that do not qualify per the standards of the NCAA Eligibility Clearinghouse. However, you'll only hear about the very talented players, and College Prep HS at Madison has been fortunate to have several talented athletes in its short time open. The difference between D1 and D2 is primarily about athleticism and talent ceiling. The academic standards are very very similar, in fact some may find it more difficult to qualify for D2 because there is no sliding scale. On a different note, it appears that SLU is attempting to take an interest in the local talent in the current high school classes. Yes, the staff has inquired about local kids such as Arlando Cook, Brandon Hollins, and Ralph Bellamy. Cook has several mid major offers, but that doesn't mean the SLU staff thinks he is a good fit. There is also the possibility that Cook may not be very interested in Saint Louis. I'm an aau coach that had a pretty decent squad this summer, so I've been fortunate enough to speak back-and-forth with many scouts and college coaches. Many would agree that the the STL Metro Area is looking pretty good right now, as opposed to a few years ago.
  9. Ralph Bellamy does not have an offer from Virginia Tech. He had a good performance at an AAU tournament back in April, where V-Tech's staff was present. Bellamy was later invited to one of their summer camps.
  10. Arlando Cook and Brandon Hollins have not visited the campus yet. The majority of the D1 coaches go on well deserved vacations after the July evaluation period ends. I believe that most of SLU's staff just returned to work this past week. SLU watched Cook during the last evaluation weekend in July. I'm not sure when they scouted Hollins. I am very biased, but I do believe that Cook's talent is definitely on the level of SLU. He holds several D1 offers, and is fielding some interest from Virginia Tech and the University of Illinois after his strong showing in July. Arlando is a late bloomer, but arguably the top big in the area's class of 2014. Hollins is an ultra athletic wing that can knock down outside shots. Brandon resembles Anthony Mitchell.
  11. I do know that SLU was very interested in Ronnie Suggs. They started recruiting him after his strong performance in the Meramec Holiday Tournament this past winter. Suggs was also at the Elite Camp back in early June.
  12. I was quite surprised to see Jayson Tatum not transfer to CBC to play for his father. However, he is in great shape to make three consecutive state title runs with his close friends and fellow 2016 studs Tyler Cook and Will Gladson. McCaw transferring to Trinity was a no brainer. Doby has been a package deal with McCaw for a few years now, but he won't be eligible at Trinity. Therefore, Doby will most likely return to Cahokia.
  13. Cook played extremely well for me this summer. He does not have the height of Gillman, nor does he have the strong body of Ike. However, his offensive skill set on the block and feel for the game are arguably the best in St. Louis right now. He just picked up offers from TN - Martin and Western Illinois last night. Hollins actually played for Terrell Ramey's team this summer, but he and Cook had been longtime aau teammates prior to this year. They are late bloomers that SLU's staff watched closely during the evaluation periods in July.
  14. Here is a summer highlight mix of Ralph Bellamy. He will attend Clayton High School this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmhmLwVYcBU
  15. Yes. SLU's staff has been in frequent contact with Suggs since December '12. I cannot say the same for Roundtree.
  16. @Jimbo, thanks for the note. I haven't been on here in years, I was just happy that I could remember my password, LOL.
  17. The younger brother of Scott Suggs is proving to be quite a stud himself. A SLU assistant watched him play a few games at the Meramec Holiday Tournament. SLU likes what they saw. Suggs was invited to & attended the game this past Monday. Suggs already holds offers from SIUE, VCU, and Northern Colorado. In other news, I've relaunched stlhoopsinsider.org & there is a feature about Suggs on the site. I'm not sure if he still posts on here but my older brother, Justin (Vtime), is now an assistant coach at Webster Univ. I hope all is well!. I'll keep you posted on Suggs from time to time. I suspect that he'll be offered soon as the coaching staff gets more opportunities to see him.
  18. Williams attended Vashon high school for the 2006-2007 school year before moving on to Milestone Academy in 2007 and then later on moving to Leavenworth, KS. He last appeared in St. Louis during the 2007-2008 school year when Milestone Prep returned to St. Louis for a shootout. That team was littered with other St. Louis natives including Richard Anderson. Below is a recent article on this commitment. http://cjonline.com/interact/blog/austin_m...5/nino_williams When Kansas State first noticed Nino Williams, he was playing at Kansas City's Milestone Christian Academy. Remember that place? It's the private school that attracted talented players from throughout the region -- especially the St. Louis area, where Williams is from -- by promising free gear, free tuition and the chance to compete in basketball showcases across the country. Except the uniforms never came. The trips weren't as glamorous as billed. The academic curriculum seemed suspect. "It was real bad," Williams said. "(The coach) talked to us and told us all this stuff, but it wasn't true. Everybody really left because it wasn't accredited." The NCAA ultimately decided not to accept Milestone transcripts, which left players like Williams scrambling to meet college admissions requirements. But it looks like Williams' story will have a happy ending. The 6-foot-5 guard is on pace to graduate in 2011, and he just committed to continue his basketball career at K-State. "We were able to make up some of the school work that of course didn't count," said Derek Zeck, Williams' legal guardian. "He's worked really, really hard and has done a great job. "He's right on schedule to graduate, and his grades are really good." Now Williams, who attends Leavenworth High, can concentrate on basketball. Zeck, who coached former Wildcats Tim Ellis and Matt Siebrandt at Southern Idaho, offered this scouting report: "He's somewhat comparable to the (Dominique) Sutton kid as far as being big, strong, athletic, mean, tough," said Zeck, who now works at his family's car dealership. "He's a great rebounder. That's probably his biggest strength, his ability to rebound the ball. He's one of those kids that has a knack for rebounding. "The thing he does so well that separates him from other kids at the 2 or 3 position is he shoots it so dang well." Williams seems to fit well with the long, athletic guards K-State has been targeting. Williams said K-State's system and his relationship with the coaching staff prompted him to make an early commitment, even as he continued to receive interest from schools around the country. "I like their style of play," Williams said. "I like the enivronment, the town as a whole. "I was pretty happy to stay close to home. I think (Frank Martin) is a really good coach. He'll expect me to work hard and play hard." l
  19. Some recent footage of Justin Jordan and Cory Remekun.
  20. Hunt mentioned in today's paper http://stlamerican.com/articles/2009/06/11...ts/sports03.txt
  21. Congrats to coach Phil Hunt and Coach Justin Mosley. Justin loves basketball and loves Harris-Stowe, so I know he will give it his all.
  22. Beal was on SLU's campus all weekend for the STL Eagles Nike Invitational. Did anyone go to check him out?? I did.
  23. It should be noted that Powell recently became a father about a month ago. It was around that time that reports of him considering SEMO popped up. I wouldn't be surprised if he picked SEMO because it's close to his new family. However, don't quote me on that. I wish Leon the best.
  24. Here is the preseason bio of Terry Evans of Wisconsin - Green Bay. He is was an '04 graduate of Cardinal Ritter College Prep. "Has played in 100 career contests, starting on 84 occasions ... is the school's all-time leader in blocked shots and is second in steals, needing just seven more to rank first in that category ... needs just four more rebounds to crack the top 10 in school history ... is just 23 games shy of the school's all-time games played mark ... needs 202 points to join the school's 1,000-point club ... has averaged 8.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game over his career ... owns six career double-doubles ... is a three-time Horizon League All-Defensive Team member and the defending Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year " - UWGB Athletics Website. Evans has already moved up to number one in all-time steals, and has cracked into the top 10 rebounders in school history. He has accomplished this while playing on the wing. He only needs about 8 more games to get the all-time games played mark, and 52 more points will put him in the 1,000 point club. His most impressive accomplishment will be graduating as arguably the best defender in Horizon League History. He will be a 4-time all defensive team selection, and probably repeat as the Defensive Player of the Year. Last season, was the first time that the conference presented that award.
