That’s the thing, our talent level was overrated this year. We need more players with higher ceilings. Not sure another coach could’ve gotten more out of this group.

I don't think this is true.  We have a Cousy finalist, the #1 rebounder in the conference (or close) and one of the best shooters ever at SLU. The sum is less of the parts.

Well that might be true once VCU leaves for the Big East.
