Mizzou can't fire Martin until 5/1/22.  After that it costs them $6 million to fire him if they do it before 5/1/23.  I'm sure right now almost any Mizzou fan would trade Martin for English, but they're likely stuck with Martin for the rest of this year and next.

They can fire him anytime they want.  It would just cost money, lot's of money, to do so this season.

no, martins contract states he can not be fired in the following year after a trip to the ncaa tournament .  He would have to do something unethical for that language to be dismissed.

i see your point, but hoosierpal is right.  the scenario where they march into martin's office and ask, what's it going to take financially to make you go away?   can and does happen all the time.   and that = "lot's of money".

Mizzou picked a bad year for its toughest non-conference schedule in a while. By the end of December, they probably will be 4-6 without some luck. Not to pile on Mizzou, because we don’t need the bad karma right now.

Hoosier said they can fire him whenever they want. They cannot, they can pay him an amount to leave sure, but not fire.

pretty much nobody that has time on their contract yet cannot just be fired without the firee just royally screwing up.   all will cost money.  i believe that is what hoosierpal meant.

There is always a way out.  Losing to UMKC is unethical to MIzzou fans.  Or find that one email he sent 10 years ago that offended someone.  Money talks.

And as everything relating to money does, the next issue is how much money is it going to take? Since money is the issue and there is a contract specifically determining when he can be fired, and most importantly since Martin is not a moron concerning money or contracts, it appears safe to say that the cost of getting rid of him now will be very high indeed.

Davidson loses by 11 to New Mexico St.

Aggies represent!! Their pbp guy, Jack Nixon, is second only to Rammer when it comes to calling college sports. For the misery it has to be call their football games, happy for him that NMSU hoops is usually good.

Bonnies gettting callls - idk what schmidt does but it sure works on the refs. He's a master. There have been a few charge calls where bonnies were clearly in the circle/not set.

Mario McKinney with one shot and two turnovers

NMST Aggies and USF Dons (Davidson's last opponent) off to solid starts. Davidson, not so much.

Schmidt rode his iron 5 hard today.  Lofton when 40, Holmes 39, Welch 37, Osunniyi 35 and Adaway 30.  They will tip off against Clemson tomorrow at 2 pm.  It will be interesting to see how much their legs recover.  (Osunniyi's back is apparently okay.)
