Just adding to what Zac said, I sincerely thank everyone here for the support. I really appreciate everyone who listens to the show and interacts with the show's social media presence in any way. I can't believe what we've done in just about 16 months. We've got a lot more coming for you soon, even though we're in the summer doldrums. Another incoming player interview this week, another short but fun interview in the can, and tons of ideas. One of the things I want to tease here now is a summer mailbag episode. At some point here and on Twitter, we'll put out a call for questions and even if we aren't going to have perfect answers for everything, we'll at least give it our best shot and have some fun with that.6 likes -

Season 2 of the Midtown Madness has more or less come to an end. As we enter the Summer Peter and I would like to first thank @SluSignGuyfor allowing us to pimp our show on this platform and being incredibly supportive of our show and content. Second, this would not be possible without the posters, readers and lurkers of this message board. Billiken Twitter is growing by the day but this is still the major gathering place for die-hard Billiken fans and I would assume ground zero of our listener base. We would probably put out Billiken content regardless of how many listens or views we get, but not only does it make it easier on the psyche to know people appreciate your work but also it helps us attract financial support of sponsor(s) and isn't donated by listeners. Barring a magical decade run of multiple final fours, I don't think our show will ever be a source of steady income to either of us but running it in the black is a lot more sustainable than the red. Looking back to the past of the "relationship" Peter and I have had over the last 18+ years, I still have to stop and laugh that he's become my podcast partner and one of my closest friends. He has brought so much more to this little show than he gives himself credit for from his obsessive research of recruiting, to his knowledge of CBB from the inside out, general knowledge of the game, an incredibly patient on air sounding board board for my dumb references, humor and most importantly being able to reign me in on air and social media. @slufan13, I love you but I don't think you and I together would be having this much success. This next season has the potential to be one of the biggest in Billiken history and by virtue of the fact that we do better numbers when the Billikens are putting up Ws I cannot wait to see if our little show can ride that wave to a wider audience. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US YOU MESSAGE BOARD MORONS. Personal and shameless section: I will always be 126% committed(inside joke of sorts) to this show as long as I have 90 minutes a week to devote to recording, but I can't overlook that I'm decent at talking on audio/video and would love to at least explore the possibility of a long term transition into more media with broader audiences as a career. So if anyone has any connections within St. Louis media I would absolutely appreciate linking me with them. Finally, I would be dumb not to at least post our social links to this (DMs are always open, welcome and appreciated): https://twitter.com/MidtownMadPod https://www.instagram.com/midtownmadpod/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjKU0PHmMCH70XutSS9NUAA Please drop us an Apple Review https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/midtown-madness-podcast/id1552953967 https://open.spotify.com/show/1p2II1i9LLMcyysnF9jfkg3 likes -

The European trip is a huge opportunity for Thames to show he can play the backup point position. That's the role he would have to fill to get on the court this year. I think he's talented enough to beat out most of the players on the above list.3 likes -

I too am all in favor of developing the 6'7" freshman PG who has the opportunity to learn behind the best PG in the country. If we don't develop freshmen and give them some PT we will struggle to recruit good freshmen. Sure, it's a risk, but outside of injury I have no problem letting Thames have <10MPG as backup PG.2 likes -

I'm quite confident that the game plan the staff put together was to not let their good players like Sneed beat you. As a result, a stiff like Stockard who up until that point had never had a double digit game was able to do some damage. Stockard was their leading scorer that night, but Sneed and their better scoring options were kept in check - SLU won the game, so I would say the game plan worked quite well.2 likes -

Playing Devil's Advocate, how many former Majerus players are successful coaches (head or assistant) at the D1 level? Jensen seemed like a good AC & then jumped to NBA / G-League coaching. Anyone else? Just because you learned under a great coach doesn't mean you'll be a great coach yourself. How do we actually know that Conklin could coach our bigs and/or teach the Conklin summer? Sure he is a big himself and Conklin summer originator, but that doesn't necessarily mean he can coach others to do those things. There are a ton of big men out there who aren't very good coaches and the Conklin summer is probably more about the student athlete having the drive (and being healthy) than any external factor. On #5, I'm not sure how much having played in Australia & NZ means he can recruit there. It may help marginally with an Aussie or NZ recruit, but SLU has shown zero interest / ability to recruit there since Majerus left. During his playing career, Conklin likely wasn't establishing relationships with Aussie or NZ HS or youth coaches unless guys on his team have since gone route. I like the idea of Conklin. I'd would be thrilled if he came here & had a lot of success. At the same time, I think there are valid concerns about his ability to step into a coaching gig with no prior experience.1 like -

It seems like every player who goes through the NBA evaluation process, who is not a big, is told that they will improve their stock with NBA teams by having PG experience. This may not be limited to college players going through the NBA evaluation process, as recruits also seem to want to know if they will be allowed to play PG and seem to want to push for a coach promising him time at the PG position. I wonder if one of the conditions that Perkins gave Coach Ford for coming back was that he wanted time at PG.1 like -

I am in favor of letting Thames get the back up PG minutes. Throw him in the mix and see what happens. We need to start letting some Freshmen get some minutes.1 like -

Rade: You gotta have five out there! Coach Norman Dale: Sit... down! Referee: You need one more, coach. Coach Norman Dale: My team's on the floor! Not trying being snarky, but having five or forfeiting reminds of this exchange in 'Hoosiers.'1 like -

I’m not worried about who’ll play the 7-10 mpg Yuri rests. Jones didn’t play pg for 19 mpg. If I was guaranteed Yuri would be healthy all season I wouldn’t call it much of a need. However, that’s a big IF. Like others have said I think we’ll get someone or be pleasantly surprised by someone already on the roster but if we don’t it’s a big risk1 like -
