  2. What a great game against BSU. The Bills grind out a win in a tough venue against a good team. In the preseason , I had the game as a question mark. That means I had it as even. A come from behind win and no fold at the end ... a sign that the team is maturing. If you need more, check out my post game analysis in the spread thread. This brings us to game 8 (of D1 games). This is an important game. ..For the Bills, it is a quality opponent. For me, the 8th game represents the point in the season where the sample size is large enough to be able to say ...Yes , we are for real...the data shows we are really an A- team and are on track for a Dance bid. But first we have to win. UAB is another tough challenge.. The bad news is they are better than Boise. The good news is we are still the better team. But there are a few potholes along the way. The report card looks pretty good especially on the offensive side. ... Our first Offensive honor roll in a few years....straight A's. Let's see what the report card looks like for this game. ..........................SLU...........................UAB..........................SLU...........................UAB .......................................OFF..................................................................DEF............. Something I rarely do but then again this is a rare event. Enjoy. Wash St which had been the FT leader had a bad night at the charity stripe so we are now king of the FTs. WWN2D2W 48 / 39 / 77...do it....Out rebound them ...This was an issue in the last game with BSU ...we are clearly the better offensive team. But if we let them out rebound us , they get 2nd and 3rd chances and we lose our offensive edge. Out rebound them by 4+ ...Two keys to the game...Key 1...3P shooting...We need to beat them here....we are one of the better 3P shooting teams ...they are one of the worst defending the 3...we need that 38% from the arc....Key 2...Protect the ball...They are 3rd ITN in opp TOs....20.3/ gm...if we give up 20 TOs we lose...part of this equation is steals ...they have 3 guys in the top 100 in steals... 11.7/gm...Our TO target is 11...we will be in good shape if we can keep to 11 TOs. Bottom line....If we can protect the ball and make a few 3s we can show that we are for real.....Bring the buckets and put out the Blazers.

  4. I understand the point he is trying to make, but their is something to be said for running an offense effectively enough to generate the FTA numbers the Billikens generated that night and all year. I agree with him on the defense. IMO, the defense has been pretty disappointing all year.

  6. The way I understand it, since the game’s stream is produced by the UW athletic department and not the PAC 12 Networks, no subscription is required to watch the stream. I just tested this with the current ASU women’s basketball game and I am able to stream that game despite not having a subscription to a service that provides the PAC 12 Network.

  8. Yep. Positive recognition is always welcomed. (Top Drawer Soccer has had a few SLU Men pro prospect write ups recently for Keller, Becher etc as well) SLU Women have a really good keeper in Emily. (so do the Men with Patrick) Emily is one of the best Nationally. Natalie Phelps has played in many big club games and was good enough to be recruited by the Big Ten in Illinois. And, SLU has a few more good keepers coming soon in 2022 and 2023. Long history of very good keepers continues for SLU Soccer. 2022 SLU commit Becca Wolterman was 1st Team All State for her high school team in Ohio D-2 this Fall. SLU staff is in Nashville this weekend watching her, as well as several other SLU commits, as well as some possible future SLU commits. It’s an ECNL National Showcase. 200 teams. 3 age groups. 3 games. 3 days. 5 SLU commits playing in Nashville this weekend. Girls Academy has a big national event next weekend in Norco, CA. (A couple of local clubs with SLU commits are playing) MLS Next has a big event there this weekend for the guys. Kevin was out at SLSG Academy recently recruiting. Both SLSG and Stl CITY have teams playing.

  10. Roy, I agree with @dlarry and consider TopGolf like a more fun driving range with a bar. It’s an expensive driving range where you can keep score. But I go there a lot with my family during the holidays, and it’s the type of thing that my stepmom and sister (who have never played a round of golf in their lives) can still enjoy. There are days where they have “all you can play” play for like $25. But if you’re just looking to hit some balls and work on your swing, TopGolf probably isn’t where you want to go. I enjoy going there with family, but I just consider it kinda separate from playing 18 or even working on my swing at the range.

  13. The name Quinn Ewers may not ring a bell, but the story should. Ewers is the stud QB out of Texas who graduated high school a year early and enrolled at Ohio State in order to take a $1.4 million over 3 years NIL deal. In Texas, HS athletes can't sign NIL deals. Ewers spent the season on the Buckeye bench as anticipated. He played briefly in one game. And yep, now he has entered the portal, heading back to a university in Texas. That was money well spent.

  17. Ahead of tonight’s Women’s College Soccer College Cup Final Four, at Stevens Stadium at Santa Clara: United Soccer Coaches named their Women’s All Americans today. 5 players who were SLU opponents this season were named Division 1 All Americans today. (Orkus from Ole Miss, Provenzano, Tagliaferri, Ali, from Rutgers, and Griffith from Purdue) Besides the four above, tonight’s Women’s Final Four will feature an additional 7 All Americans. (former SLU opponent Parker Goins was also selected for Arkansas) (The Men’s All Region and All American Teams will be announced next week. The SLU coaching staff was already named Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year this week) There have also been 30 off season Women’s coaching changes. The biggest has been Keidane McAlpine who has left USC where he has been very successful, (he’s been popular and successful everywhere he’s been) for Georgia, to be closer to home. McAlpine recently won the National Championship at USC, and they have a few All Americans this year as well. (SLU crosses over with both occasionally in recruiting, more often w/Georgia) Bill Reno recently named SLU’s Emily Puricelli the 9th best USWNT GK prospect U24. Bill is a respected Goalkeeper guru, and, he was a volunteer assistant at Connecticut for the Men’s team this season, Ray Reid’s final season. (same coach in which SLU’s Kris Bertsch previously worked)

  18. I think GCU was Baptist at some point, but is just "Christian" now and doesn't necessarily prescribe to an evangelical dogma. The only real knock against them is that they have no business in the NCAA as a for-profit school - unrelated to any faith-based mission they may adhere to.

This one is truly bizarre to me because no one said anything against any religion or political belief. Just called out a lousy school. It's unreal that anyone here would take it personally. You're a sensitive lot. I genuinely don't see it coming most of the time, but I'm also not particularly interested in jumping on inane culture wars at every opportunity like you guys are.
