In the past, I've tried to keep us up on who is coming and going around the A10.  Right now, it is really hard to tell.  I am going to assume the new roster reality is 15 scholarships (for now).  Looking at the A10 right here and now, this is how it stacks up:

Davidson: 9 scholarships including two freshmen.  Zero notable holdovers.

Dayton:  7 scholarships with two freshmen.  Javon Bennett and Amael L'Etang as holdovers.

Duquesne: 8 holdovers with one noted walk-on (DiMichele) and two freshmen.  David Dixon and Jacob Necas as holdovers.

Fordham: 5 scholarships, one freshman, no notable holdovers.

Mason: 6 scholarships, two freshmen, no notable holdovers.

Geedubya: 9 scholarships with two freshmen.   Notables Rafael Castro, Trey Autrey and Garrett Johnson.

La Salle: 5 scholarships with two freshmen.  No notable holdovers.

Loyola:  9 scholarships with three freshmen.  Holdover Miles Rubin.

Rhode Island: 6 scholarships with one freshman.  No notable holdoivers.

Richmond:  11 scholarships with three freshmen.  No notable holdovers. DeLonnie Hunt possible medical redshirt.

Bonaventure: 4 scholarships, no freshmen, no holdovers.

St. Joes:  12 scholarships (maybe 11 if Flemming goes pro) with two freshmen.  Notables include Flemming, Xyavier Brown, Derek Simpson and Anthony Finkley.

Billikens:  11 scholarships with three freshmen.

VCU:  6 scholarships with one freshman, no notable holdovers.

New coaches at Fordham, La Salle and VCU.  In this scenario, the Joeys look best but come back to the pack if Flemming goes pro.  As wide open as it gets right now.

Flemming has already gone pro.  The days of D1 college basketball being amateur have been a thing of the past for a few years now.  It is minor league ball now, but us fans just haven’t adjusted to that fact yet.

Just go to the A10 roster and click on it.  It is pretty much up to date....it has the Hugley signing with Duquesne which was announced just this afternoon.  It has stats for returnees as well as those leaving.  Pretty handy.  LaSalle has six incoming transfers already, which is pretty impressive number wise.  I'm guessing they have enough cash to entice players to join up.  GW has three of their top five scorers returning and regain Johnson.  Of course the portal is still open so lots of changes are still possible.

I've seen Fleming on the first round of several NBA Mock Drafts.  But you know, if he is not first round, he could make more money next season in college.  Maybe not at St. Joe, but some P5 would give him high six to low seven figures.

Tre Dinkins from Duquesne to Geedubya.  Malachi Smith to Uconn.  And Xyavier Brown out of St. Joe's; points unknown.  The Joeys have now lost Reynolds, Flemming and Brown for next year.  Billy Lange back to the basment.

@JonRothstein ·  3h Sources: Oklahoma’s Porter Moser is expected to hire St. Joe’s Associate HC Justin Scott as an assistant. The expectation is that Xzayvier Brown — who entered the transfer portal today — will follow Scott to Norman.

While the Billikens and VCU load up, the Joey’s unload.

The morning free teaser from "The Field of 68".

1. Loyola Chicago, Saint Louis making their mark

Conventional transfer portal wisdom is that the power conference programs tend to thrive early in the portal, while the rest of the sport plays catchup.

That doesn’t apply to Loyola Chicago or Saint Louis.

Only two All-Atlantic 10 players are set to return next season, and one of them is Saint Louis forward Robbie Avila. But the Billikens won’t have Isaiah Swope and Gibson Jimerson, both of whom exhausted their eligibility.

In response, coach Josh Schertz brought in former top-100 recruit Trey Green (5 ppg at Xavier in 9 games), Paul Otieno (13 ppg, 8.6 rpg at Quinnipiac), Boston College guard Dion Brown (7.5 ppg), and NIU wing Quentin Jones (15 ppg).

The topper was former St. John’s forward Brady Dunlap, who an elite shooter (38% from deep).

Among that group, Green has the highest upside. He left Xavier in December due to personal reasons, but is quick, explosive, and should thrive in Schertz’s offense-friendly system.

Long-term success hinges on Brown and Jones to play within that offensive structure. Jones averaged 15 ppg in the MAC, but on a brutal Northern Illinois team. SLU needs him to be the third option behind Avila and Green.

Loyola Chicago only lost one key piece to the portal, which was leading scorer Jayden Dawson, who went to Kansas. One could argue retaining center Miles Rubin was more important. He’s an elite interior defender who’ll thrive during his junior season.

That meant coach Drew Valentine had to address two key positions: A sharpshooting guard to replace Dawson and a floor-stretcher to play next to Rubin.

He did both in 24 hours with Charleston transfer Deywilk Tavarez and Wisconsin transfer Xavier Amos (3.6 ppg). Don't let Amos' unimpressive number fool you, he's 6-8 and shot 38% from 3 at Northern Illinois in 2023-24. He's an awesome fit next to Rubin, who doesn't shoot 3s. And Tavarez should be terrific.

Don't forget about Kayde Dotson, either. The 6-2 guard played just six minutes per game at New Mexico, but Donovan Dent rarely left the floor, which cut into Dotson’s opportunities. He should be a strong option behind veteran PG Justin Moore.

From top-to-bottom, Loyola Chicago and Saint Louis are the clear A-10 portal winners.

That guy has an interesting story. Looks like a great pick up for the Brown Indians.

Ginger werewolves receive the worst kind of hate from the mainstream werewolf community.  They are outcasts among the outcasts with their bright red coats attracting every hunter with a silver bullet.  Hanging with one is a quick way to die.

If Walton had camped up in Tora Bora and fought for the Mujahideen.
