Ive noticed a lot more iso with him, taking on defenders 1 v 1 from outside the arc. Last year he was strictly a paint guy. Ramey getting injured may have helped him with his all around game. Blossom made him just a paint guy last year. They had more ball handlers last year. This year he is required to do more. But I agree. Helps in the long run. 3star_recruit
Mickey Pearson's #10 ranked John Hardin squad made it to the finals of their tournament but was blown out by #20 Oldham County by a score of 88-60. Oldham County doesn't have any players with a D-1 offer but they do have an experienced inside-outside duo that are fantastic scorers at the high school level. Oldham County's point guard Jackson Gibson was the best player on the floor leading all scorers with 35 points. Pearson had 17 points and 7 boards. The night before, Pearson had a big night:
Pistol
Gordon had a really nice City of Palms Classic overall. Here's his last game, in which WG beat Canterbury (FL) 60-51: I like that last tweet. Truth.
3star_recruit
I expect Pearson to dominate against John Hardin's normal schedule. I'm more interested in what he does against teams that have at least a couple of D-2 players.

TFord and TRavs
I wouldn’t be surprised if thatch and Pearson make a top 150 appearance before the end of the year. MattyMo213 and HenryB like this

How serious is Thatch's injury, is he still playing through it? He was wearing a boot at the SEMO game.

That would blend him in with some of our current players. Hopefully, that is just a small sample size issue and he is better at that than this one-game result.. Adding CAG to a front line already including HF, Santos and Bess (especially with JG rebounding like a big) will make us a rebounding force next year! Pistol
Pearson is averaging 26.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks through the first ten games of the season. His team is back in action tonight, starting another tournament:
Pistol
Reminder that Fred Thatch's Sikeston team will be at St. Dominic tonight for their holiday tournament. Sikeston plays Lutheran-St. Charles at 6:00. I'm not sure yet if Thatch has been cleared to play again or not.
3star_recruit
Thatch didn't play last night in Sikeston's first-round blowout win. John Hardin needed overtime to defeat Paducah Tilghman 72-70 in the opening round of the Lake Cumberland Holiday Classic. Pearson was held scoreless in the 1st half but erupted for 24 points in the 2nd half including a game-tying three at the end of regulation. Pearson's teammate Malik Wright led all scorers with 28. Great to have someone who can hit a big-time shot. It means Jordan Goodwin and Fred Thatch won't have to play hero ball but will be able to kick to some dependable three-point shooters (makers) or get to the rim for a layup or drop dimes to CarteAre Gordon or Hasahn French. If free-throw shooting percentages climb to reasonably decent levels, SLU will be nearly unbeatable in games within one possession in the last minute. 3star_recruit
The local 2019 class was going to be a tough nut to crack regardless. The top players in the class don't have any serious interest in staying home. The Title IX witch hunt has made recruiting the 2019 class an exercise in futility. We've still got a decent shot at Yuri Collins but that's about it.
