  1. SLU shouldn't consider any kind of reseating scenario until attendance improves significantly and stays at those improved levels for a few seasons. When you have never had a season at Chaifetz when you have averaged over 85% capacity and have gone almost a decade since you last averaged 70% capacity, you can't risk pissing off what exists of your consistently paying fan base.

  2. From the perspective of a recent student, we just need to win to drive better attendance. Buzz was starting to grow last year when we had the small winning streak in conference play. Better opponents will help too, as nobody wants to skip out on a party to watch us stomp Eastern Illinois by 40. With the improved schedule this year and the hype the team has, I think we’ll see the best student turnout we’ve had in a long time.

  3. I bet the Big 12 and Pac 10 wish that the Big 12 had just waited on expansion after losing Texas and OU. Might have made more sense for the remaining teams in the Big 12 and Pac 10 to just merge.

  4. The student section is far too large. I posited on MMP that they should investigate the possibility of making the student section flexible in capacity on a game to game basis. 1. Find a method to separate the student section that's moveable. 2. Request a simple ticket registration of name and banner ID online for every game. 3. 48 hours prior to the game announce x number of tickets on sale for 5 dollars. the number x is based on capacity - registrations + a hundred or so potential walk up students. The space behind the band can just permanently be sold for $5 to the general public. That space is utterly useless to the atmosphere. Also that fuoking wedge can be permanently $5 too. I hate that thing, beyond the first 3 or 4 rows it's useless to the student section atmosphere unless it's a big game. 4. Move that barrier based on the estimated capacity. The seats behind this barrier are the ones sold for $5 to the general public. The $5 tickets are not general admission but reserved seating, this ensures students don't just sit behind the barrier. This increases Chaifetz atmosphere on lesser attended games by not allowing students to spread out as they would if they had 1000 total spaces. Students will have to stand and be closer to the people leading chants etc...It would also create the illusion of demand for games that generally don't have the demand. I truly think this is a feasible option and would add a great deal to Chaifetz game day atmosphere.

  5. I think the networks' appetite for a non-national championship tournament would be pretty limited.

  6. So like the European Super League and then a few tiers of the same idea form behind it? The good thing for soccer is that the Super League failed because fans revolted. That doesn't seem to happen here. CFB fans would sell family members off if it meant having a better shot at a title, let alone selling old conference rivals off. What you're describing still doesn't sound great for the long-term of CBB, especially for programs that aren't in power conferences already.

  7. I think continued P5 expansion tips the scales further in favor of Big East expansion.

While playing for her dad, Ashley’s club team will soon compete in the USYS President’s Cup National Finals in North Carolina, Her team recently won the President’s Cup Midwest Regionals. Ashley has also been a Missouri Olympic Development Program, Inter Regional player. Honorable Mention All State as a Sophomore, the creative, skilled, pass first Miller, led the area in assists with 29, while also chipping in 12 goals, for the Back to Back Missouri Class 3 State Champions.

  9. I've always WANTED to believe that KT is ready for the job, but hearing coach say that doesn't really convince me until I see it for myself. That could very well be peak offseason coach-say But the idea of a homegrown 6'7" (or taller) PG that learns the ropes from YURI F'ING COLLINS? If that don't get you excited get off the board.

  12. It's a different calculation for the ACC, too, because the conference is going to get about half of those 15 teams in the NCAAT. Those stronger-seeded teams don't need more wins to pad their profile and they're more interested in protecting seed position in the NCAAT. The A10 is trying to get as many teams in the NCAAT as possible. I guess it can be argued both ways - do you want to protect your best teams from a potential embarrassing loss in the first round, or do you want to give them a shot at 1-2 more wins?

  17. Here is my stance. You can disagree and everything will be fine. Call it apples to oranges if you want. They toss the ball up at the start of the came and the team with the most points wins. Seems to me a game is a game. They all count. I want this team to maximize the chance for a high seed in the NCAA tourney. This is our 'year'. If anyone doesn't think this year is our shot, well, when will it be. Quad 4 wins do us no good. I anticipate Evansville will end up in Q4, with a new coach hired late and a large turnover of a not so good roster. "The team needs a buy game or two to gel". Yada Yada. If we don't come out of the gate sprinting, I will be very disappointing. We need to build our resume from the start. No Lindenwood, no Central Arkansas State, no Eastern Illinois, no Evansville. We need Q1 and Q2 games, wherever we can get them. We will be playing too many Q3 and Q4 games in conference. At Selection Sunday, I don't want to hear, the Bills are a 10th seed because they had only (one or two or three) Quad 1 wins. How many Q1/Q2 games will our A10 brethern provide? I'm greedy. This is the year. Evansville isn't going to help us get us a high seed. We still have a couple more games to be announced. Think they will be Q1/Q2? I don't.

  18. we have to bribe the students every game with gifts and food now to get decent turnouts. plus selfishly, i have been a loyal fan for years and paid thousands of dollars to sit in my seats and now i would just give those seats up and sit in lesser location so students can have my seat and then not show up half the time? nah
