Sheltiedave
He is a model parent and husband to the second wife, Roy, but a different role model to the first wife. He also racked up an NCAA violation for instructing LaTodd how to shoot free throws, over the summer. Outside of men’s soccer and ladies field hockey, we should have been D2 or D3 at that time. We were truly hideous.

basebill123
Two relevant games today that should be very close Loyola-Chicago at Valparaiso(Valpo +3.5) Seton Hall at DePaul(Seton Hall +1.5) Tulane also has a chance to upset at Memphis(Tulane +14.5). Unlikely but would help us out

Tulane is on the cusp of giving us a Q2 win. basebill123 likes this

They are 2 slots away from a (for us) Q2 win. Today, we have zero Q1 and Q2 wins. Even at 11-2, if today were decision day, the NCAA committee would give us a nice pat on the back and a participation ribbon. We need to get some quality wins in conference, and perhaps have one or two of our current wins move up into a better quadrant.

One saving grace was we did get to see David Burns play a real solid Billiken player back in the day.

Taj79
Dayton running away from North Florida, wins 77 to 59.. Watched a very spirited game in western New York where Jim Whitesell's Buffalo team ran away in the second half from the Bonnies but then held on 84 to 79. Bonaventure is still who I say they are .....Kyle Lofton and pray. Lofton ended with 32. He is hard to stop because he always has the ball. Osun Osunniyi was relatively useless. Picked uphsisecond foul three minutes in, fouled out with just under 8 to play. Six points, five rebounds and three blocks. The offense for him is to get him the ball at the foul line and let him pass to cutters. Still no offensive game except put backs. Dominck Welch remains a catch-n-shoot three point specialist. He had 14 and Jaren English, a 6'4" sophomore had 13. He reminds me of a Trey Landers type. Buffalo might be second in the nation in offesnive rebounding but their defensive rebounding was poor. The Bonnies like to cherry pick. They get beat a lot but with Osunniyi to block attempts, they all run down court when beaten. Their bench is shallow. Looks like Umass lost at Akron 83 to 79. Fordham finishes 6 and 6 by beating Coppin State 62 to 56. Vandy is trashing Davidson 48 to 30 to start second half. And TCU opens with an 8 to 0 run hosting Mason. Looks like a definite 2 and 4 night in the making for the A10. .
basebill123
Only real positive in games today was that Seton Hall beat DePaul. Everything else went just about as expected or worse. Eastern Washington dropped to Idaho State... Sheltiedave likes this
courtside
The Vandy v Davidson game was strange. Vandy was up by 18 at half, up by 24, getting many points by their non-top two scorers. And then inexplicably went to a zone perhaps to try out different things and Davidson shot their way back into the game to make the final score respectable closer than the game. This is not the Davidson team expected this year so far. Powell was back from concussion and had 27 for Seton Hall. The only two undefeated teams left: Auburn, San Diego St.

I have to give Ekker credit for one thing, we were way over our head in the Metro.

Chaminade probably has a higher recruiting budget then we had in those days.

You can’t compete with Louisville, Memphis and Cincinnati if that’s all you’ve got to spend.

I am not sure what else you want to know.
