bk18
Finally the roster has been updated at slubillikens.com Some may have not been aware of the walk-on's: Grant Gehlen and Brian Daly. That puts the roster at 15. 14 eligible to play this year and 3 walk-ons. Looks like we should have a very deep roster especially deep in guards. I always wondered why Dayton and Richmond had 17-18 guys on their team and we were played at the scholarship limit. This depth should help keep the team really healthy and its also going to make the first few games interesting to watch even if they aren't going to be close games because we all want to see how the new guys are going to fit in the team. They also have PE listed as a RS junior. He is a senior so I'm assuming RS Jr means he has 3 more years of eligibility left.? http://www.slubillikens.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/stlo-m-baskbl-mtt.html NO NAME HT WT POS YEAR Hometown High School 30 Jake Barnett 6-5 F RS SO Wauwatosa, Wis. bk18
I think you mean 15 players, 14 eligible including 2 walk-ons. Well right now, PE, GG, BD don't have scholarships. We still have one available unless its going to PE and we just haven't heard about it.

Thought this Board already decided that SLU/RM is the ONLY program which accurately measures its players. Everyone else makes thing up. Still havent' seen anything where he's signed elsewhere.

SpencerFilibuster
Gehlen has a bunch of videos out on youtube. He looks pretty good. Really, really good for a SLU walk-on. I like those catch-and-shoots that he's doing.
Cowboy
-let's hope the walkons can fill the role the coaches have for them -and that they get to play a bunch because we are kicking the crap out of teams!!!

Pistol
Ahhhhh, yes, thoooooooose were the days. We had some classic walk-ons during my time there: Wendell Bennett, who was like 6-3 and had size 7 feet. He played for the legendary Bob Hurley at Brooklyn's St. Anthony's High School. I think he also benefited from Brad's never using his full allotment of scholarships. Phil Hunt, whose game-tying tip at the buzzer sent us to an OT win vs. Houston on his senior night. He also got a much-deserved scholarship after being a walk-on his first couple years. Ian Mooney, who left to go play as a walk-on at Texas. Best storyteller ever. Kevin Shortal, who got the ball in the corner as time was winding down and we were up 27 on West Virginia (those were the days) with everyone on the bench saying, "don't shoot, don't shoot, let it go," and of course he bombed a three-pointer to give us a 30-point win. He turned around with a huge smile and put his arms in the air, and everyone was just shaking their heads. Classic. Peyton Jacks, who could really stroke it. There were times in practice where he'd hit a few in a row and get the starter matched up against him in trouble.

He WOULD NOT shoot the ball from less than 25 feet and would still hit about half of them in your face.
