For my own sake, after we lost Javonte, I’m just trying to look at this season the way I looked at 2019-20. No expectations for wins/losses, I’m just excited to see the talent we have and root for their development as individual players.

How many years have we brought back as much talent as we have this year? Comparing win totals to teams from the 90s and early 2000s when we were in a much harder conference is not really apples-to-apples. The quality of players we have on this years roster is very high. I think it’s fine to have tempered expectations but also can see why some would have high expectations.

That's fair to say. My counter to that would be that this team's ceiling, even without Perkins, would be significantly higher than a majority of teams in the past 33 years.

I will be there. Will be my first non-exhibition soccer game at SLU. Never been a big soccer guy but the team is too good not to see in person.

Sorry it was a busy work day, yes I was up late reading about Monkey gate. I did hit up sources as I heard a local neighborhood Dr treated the kid and I thought we knew the Dr. Sadly we did not. So no inside scoop. So this story is amazing. Coach Banks is the special teams coach making 7 figures, Texas hired away from Bama. He's the best ST coach and recruiter. Yes his significant other aka The Pole Assassin think Cirque de Soliel level aerial acrobatics skills, decided to have a fun haunted house for the kids. Well apparently 1 child 11 or 12 according to Pole Assassin did not listen and turn around at the gate as instructed but kept going into the backyard to the money cage and stuck his hand in the cage and was bit. At about 1100 PM CST she was tweeting about it and even showed a video of how far away the cage was. She blamed the kid. But apparently someone advised Pole Assassin to get off Twitter. This story is so good. Really something for everyone, monkey, children, possibly a stripper, sports related. Anyway Texas looking to get the monkey off their back in Ames by snapping a 3 game losing streak.

I know next to nothing about soccer but have concluded that Top Drawer is clearly the best and most accurate ranking. Because they always have us higher than everyone else.

It’s okay to have high expectations it’s just an opinion nothing more. The team is deep and has a great quarterback running the team. Who thought they would win the A10 tournament a few seasons ago? I like this team and believe by the end of the season they will be playing similar to the 2019-2020 team that finished strong if they do not lose anymore players.

She's gotta be able to bring it on a plane for road gigs, though.

Really the only comp between the two is that they're both inefficient Isabell a much more complete offensive player than Williams

It seems under CTF we've had more talent than we're used to but haven't gotten the results we want (at least 1 NCAA tournament game win). This season, I was hopeful as always but JP went down. I really don't know what to expect. Our identity was "bully ball" out rebound, hard nosed d, bad FT and streaky 3PT shooting. I don't think we'll rebound like we did but we should hit more FTs and more 3PTers. At the very least RWs shooting volume will have us hitting more, maybe not at a higher %, plus GJ back. What's the identity of this team?

It’ll be at SLU if they win. They’ll be day games Friday and Sunday the next week.

I was at Game 1 in Houston, expensive but tix were double in ATL. Braves are 4-0 last 2 seasons with me in attendance, pretty sure that's science (2020 NLCS 2wins, 2021 regular season vs Mets in NYC win, Game 1, 2021 World Series at Minute Maid win). View from section 424 row 18

We lost our best all-around player and best inside player to graduation and just lost an 18-20 ppg scorer to injury. Considering that we were ranked about 45th last year, a 50 spot drop is not the craziest prediction in the world. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

@billiken_roy there is this new invention called a marker. I suggest rather than tearing down the promo schedules you received at the exhibition games, you use one of these to just write in "Ballys" next to the games that network is going to show. Sharpie is a solid brand if you're curious which marker to use.

Nice try Roy. guarantee you they didn’t have the tv schedule confirmed at time of the exhibition games. Which is why it wasn’t on the handouts, not because they overlooked adding it. You whining about having to take down the schedules you have hanging up is just icing on the absurdity of your complaint here. Your “sigh” is the cherry on top of the icing. I have zero issue with them putting out what they have confirmed.

with this announcement it makes the schedules they handed out the first two games somewhat worthless imo. why cant they get this stuff right the first time? i got these schedules hung up in numerous places now i will have to take down. sighhh
