Got to see the #1 team in the country in computer rankings Auburn at Texas.  Texas came back from down 20 to get with 3 in the final minutes, to make it exciting.

J. Larry played more than Kent. Kent wasn't much of a factor. Larry was alright though he's undersized.  AU was bigger at nearly every position.

Rodney Terry at Texas reminds me of Crews, he got the job after doing well when the previous coach abruptly exited. His teams play very inconsistent. He's probably not "the guy.'

Auburn is legit, they have size, inside and outside scorers, take care of the ball, rebound, play tough D and have an attitude.

Tennessee comes to town next, the SEC is brutal this season.

Loved watching Florida pound the living hell out of #1, undefeated Tennessee last night.   I married into a family full of UT grads and Vols fans and I like UF because they are a local team.   So I spent the evening sh*t-texting in-laws.  Good times.

SEC had a wild week. Bama and UF going down at home.  Beard's Ole Miss squad beat Bama on the road.

Dayton goes down again.  Loses to GM.  Ends their 26 game home winning streak.  The last team to beat them at home?  GM.

Dayton fading rapidly.

Watching the Florida- Texas game, announcers said a few times,  a Texas turnover .. Didn't think that sounded very tasty, more like a cowpie?

Santa Clara 103 @Gonzaga 99 -Final. Broncos end 16 game losing streak vs. Zags in Spokane.

Our 11 D-1 noncon opponents had a good day going 9-2 and some of the wins were by wide margins.

Grand Canyon 88 Tarleton State 64

Wofford 64 Mercer 44

Chicago State 88 LeMoyne 72

USF 81 Oregon State 70

Jackson State 79 Prairie View 70

Loyola Marymount 77 San Diego 70

Illinois State 74 Missouri State 68

Wichita State lost to E. Carolina 75-72 and UMass-Lowell lost to Bryant 85-62. How did we lose to Wichita State by 25?

Why was our game against UMASS Lowell so close?

Last night in WCC SLU opponents’ games:

@St. Mary’s 71 USF(CA) 51. USF looked like a completely different team than the one SLU played 12/5/24, has not won in Moraga since 2003. St. Mary’s has won 11 straight over USF but still trails the all-time series 101-91.

@Santa Clara 93 Washington State 65.

Loyola Marymount 73 @Pacific 68.

SLU’s NET actually improved one slot to 109.

#1 in the MVC, Bradley goes down to UIC by 23 points at home.

Watching Murray St at Evansville.  UE has this 6'7 Italian Freshman, Gabriel Pozzato, w/ 1:40 left he's scored 29. He scored 28 at at UNT (avg 14.8). He shoots the 3 at 32%, doesn't rebound that well (avg 4.2), but has had 5, 4, 3 assists in a game.

He missed 8 games this year to an off-and-on lower back injury and played 40 minutes 3 times this season.

Sounds like a SLU player to me.

The beauty of the portal is that you can watch these lower league games, and you might be watching a guy that'll come to your school.

That’s a great point. I’ve watched a lot of Valley games and think exact same thing about players. Portal makes it interesting for sure.

That would really be great if we were in position to compete for an at large bid.

Hoping we can get on the NIT bubble.

The SEC is an absolute slaughterhouse.  I think the rankings before last more than half the 14 team conference was ranked.  There are just so many teams in this right now.
