May be some interest here.

USF( yes I mean San Francisco  Bay Area)  leading St. Mary's 59-58 , with 3:30 left

That was a huge and emotional home court win for the hometown USF Dons, 65-64, with Bill Cartwright, as usual, present watching.  USF broke an 11 game losing streak vs. the nearby St. Mary's Gaels from the East Bay, Moraga. USF's 7'0" Center missed 2 free throws with 8 seconds left to open the door for SMC, SMC rebounded, quickly raced down the court, but missed a 3 that would have won it.  USF is 19-6, 9-3 in 2nd Place in the WCC;  SMC is 20-4, 10-1 WCC, as this was SMC's first WCC loss.

Elsewhere of interest last night in the WCC, SLU opponents:

@Gonzaga 73 LMU 53.  LMU is 14-9, 6-5;  The Zags are 17-7, 8-3.

Santa Clara 97 @Portland 50.  SCU is 16-9, 8-4.

WCC NET's:  Gonzaga 12, St. Mary's 24, Santa Clara 54, Oregon State 62, USF(CA) 64, Washington State 98, LMU 143.  WCC looks like a 2 bid league if either Gonzaga or St. Mary's wins the WCC Tourney in Las Vegas, but a possible 3 bid league if someone else wins the WCC Tourney. However, small school St. Mary's has been a target for NCAA Football Power 4 snubs in the past.

Afraid last night's loss,  could put St. Mary's on the bubble.

2 or the biggest snubs , were on them... How can a team in the Top 25 ,not get a bid... And Patty Mills injury , the other

The SEC is an absolute slaughterhouse.  I think the rankings before last more than half the 14 team conference was ranked.  There are just so many teams in this right now.

When I last looked the SEC had 7 teams in the top 15

Last night, Lunardi predicted 14 SEC teams to the Dance right now.

Then add the 2 automatic NIT bids, that's all of them

Despite the loss, kudos to Dennis Gates turning it around so well in Y3.  Guy worked the portal well.

Mizzou has a chance to go deep into March.

Miraculous what a soft academic course load can do for a program, too.

Sad part Drake is 26-3 and a #59 Net ... if they don't win Arch Madness, do they get bid??

Looks like SIUe is punching their ticket to the dance, leading SEMO 61-45 with 3:42 to go in the OVC final.

Lol if you think academics has a place in any big time sports anymore.

That comment was made with more tongue in cheek than seriousness, especially when it comes to dear ol Mizzou. I’m sure all the top SEC draft picks this year could tell an NFL GM the complexities of the Dewey Decimal System, etc.

I get your point but being educated does not have to have anything to do with your capacity to be educated.

There is also the caring and the desire to be educated aspect, which waved goodbye as soon as NIL entered the picture in the revenue producing sports. The Jimerson’s of the world who have enriched their lives through academics and athletics are outliers. They are the exception, not the norm.

This Wofford-Furman SoCon championship game is amazing. 6th seed Wofford is up on 5th seed Furman 77-69 at the under 8. Both teams lighting it up from the arc.
