The portal is wrecking college BB. The NIL ain’t helping either. Bad time to be a HC when you have this kind of turnover in your rosters. No wonder guys like Saban and Wright quit the profession. Yes, you might get upgrades but then you have to mold your new talent into a team. It’s the rare coach that can do this quickly.

LaSalle was not very good to begin with, but wow. It will be interesting to see what kind of team they trot out next year. Davidson, Bonnie and Mason - ouch!  Duquesne will be completely starting over.

It can work both ways: 20-21 Duquesne A10 record was 1-16. This year 10-8 and a 2nd round in the NCAAs, which, even before Norm Nixon, has not done since the 60s.

I will admit, I think players getting compensated is good, but this is crazy

Sincere Parker to McNeese - strange

Agree.  I would think that he could have gotten more to stay here, unless we had reason to tell him he wasn't wanted here anymore.  Also strange than another bigger program than McNeese State didn't take a chance on him.  Hell, I would think one of the programs who he hung 30 on in the A-10 would have paid him a little more than he's probably getting at NcNeese State.

Maybe his injury history this year was caution for them

I thought the same thing, but this year it was only a broken foot.  Usually, that's not much of a concern.

Torn labrum also. An article I read said he expected to be ready by this fall.

I have to believe academics had to play in here and with his destination. I think certain people here on the board seem to know but they just aren't saying. Multiple posters here were SURE he was gone before the season was even over.  It would be interesting to know why.

while if anyone was made for hero ball it was sincere parker.   that said, hero ball and schertz 5 out do not mix.  one or the other had to go likely is my thought.  good luck to parker.   i am betting at mcneese he will be a star.   good for him.

This Google Doc has a good snapshot of what is happening in the A10 and every other league.  Williford is still listed on the SLU roster, but as we think, he likely won't be here.  St. Bonnie and VCU have significant holes to fill.

Agreed. Hard to see why he's winding up there given his abilities. McNeese, the Southland, and Port Arthur don't have much to offer.

Outside of the Ivy's, some ACC and Big Ten schools, and a handful of others, are there that many programs that hold themselves to a significantly higher academic standard than the NCAA? If he can can go to McNeese and not have to go to JuCo I'd think he'd be eligible at about 300 other DI programs.

Parker had some serious disciplinary issues with the team. Physical confrontations with teammates and staff. Sadly the Ford era brought a lot of these types of guys onto the roster. Isabel, Gordon, Santos, Parker etc etc. He wasn't coming back no matter who the coach was.

Holmes  II (Dayton) as reported by Dave Jablonski, [Flyer beat writer for the Dayton Daily News] filed the required papers to enter the NBA draft.  He has not announced anything publicly.  Last year he waited until the final day to announce his plans.  He is projected to be either a late pick in Round One or a Round Two pick.  This is a weak draft, so I don't know why he wouldn't jump, unless Dayton gives him an NIL package he can't turn down.

This spreadsheet, A10 Tab, is fairly accurate.  [It still lists Williford as a Billiken, so there a few errors.]  VCU still has a lot of work to do.
