The Wiz
Before we get started ...I noticed that Aub is now #1 ITN...a chance to beat them was only 2 seconds away....Moral of the story ...we can beat anybody...not just in the A-10...but anybody. Chance 2 Dance The Bills....54%...up Day............50%....dn VCU...........49%....up Dav............45%....dn Big jump up for the Bills after the 2nd game UMass win 3 takeaways from the latest C2D... 1...We have the best C2D in the A-10...again 2...UMass series...whatever we lost on game 1 , we made up on game 2 3...Over emphasis on individual games...very few teams win them all...The Bills should win the vast majority of their remaining games. Next up D rated GW....GW will probably be a PIG team. In the games against UMass, I mentioned that UM was the worst team on defense we will face this year.. While GW's defense is slightly better than UMass , GW has the worst offense we will face this year. On top of that one of their top player's is questionable for our game. This will be a cake walk... IF... we play like we did against UMass part 2. Let's see what the report card says... ...................SLU.....................GW..........................SLU.........................GW .................................OFF..........................................................DEF............. PPG...............A........................F+...........................C+..............................D+ FG%...............B.......................D-.............................B+.............................D+ 3Pt%.............A-.......................F...............................B+.............................A- FT%...............A........................F................................................................. Top 10 Teams ITN FTM/gm....The Bills...4th...dn FTA/gm....The Bills....8th....unch FTM / 100 possessions...The Bills...4th...unch Top 100 ITN (In The Nation)/ gm SLU Assts...Collins... 2nd... unch...with a good game , Yuri can move into 1st ITN and all time SLU Assts leader Stls......Collins....37th....up FT%...Jimerson...78rd...dn Dou-Dou....Collins...94th...new PPG...Jimerson...74th...up GW Stls...Lindo...59th Blks...Lindo...46th The report card is looking good with the offense 1 grade away from the honor roll(straight A's) and the defense 1 grade away from honorable mention (straight B's). We are looking more and more like a balanced team and that is a good thing. Injury/ Illness Lindo..Fwd...Ques..Undisclosed injury...1/22/22..Lindo has missed the last 2 games with an injury. It is uncertain if he will face us. Keys to the game... Our good defense needs to shut down GW...I mean really shut them down...like less than 60 pts. With a weak defense and an even weaker offense plus virtually no rebounding, it looks bleak for GW. The one bright spot for them is 3P defense where they come up with an A- . What does this mean for the Bills ...if you have a good 3 P shot take it, if not there will be plenty of other ways to score ...find them. The only way they can win is if we let them win. WWN2D2W.... We need to play Billiken ball...Make our slash...48/37/ 77...this was one of the few weak spots in the last UMass game...everything else was so good it didn't matter but we need to get back on track shooting wise. ...Reb...10+...they are weak on the boards ..take advantage...TOs 11.. this is an area where we could give away points ...no reason to ..we showed we can take care of the ball in the last game...do it again.....Bishop and Bamisile are their offensive threats...hold them to a combined 23pts....If Lindo doesn't play because of his injury, the spread will move into the 20s...... Word of warning...no overconfidence ...RI put a smack down on UMass and then a week later lost to GW. ...beware Bottom line... Remember UMass part2 and then hold that thought.... If we do... And play like part 2 The Colonials will be through.
HoosierPal
On the Coach's Show with Rammer, Ford said both Lindo and Brown would play. They missed the last game a W at Rhody. He also stated that they have the second highest number of transfers in D1.

I'm setting the line at 26.5 and taking the under I will take the over, as Jimerson went 35 against UMass and Collins 30. Of course, Collins in foul trouble screws this up. Jimerson has fouled out in one game in his career, so I'm not worried about any foul trouble for him.

As a Fordham Dad with a loyal Fordham alumnus son, we are hoping Fordham avoids the Pillow Fight this season, which would be a sign of progress. As of games of 1/23/22, Fordham (NET 174) did have a better NET than 187 UMass, 233 Duquesne, 250 LaSalle, and 267 GW, and was right on the tail of 170 St. Joe's. Courtney subbed in for Jones at the 2:39 mark. Lorentsson was ready to sub in for TJ, but he missed the FT. So the next dead ball was at 2:22, when Lorentsson came in and Hargrove was out. Lorentsson was credited for 3 minutes, but actually only played 2:22. I thought they rounded to the nearest minute for the records, but they didn't in this case. Maybe they use the player subbed out to rationalize the minutes.

Old guy
Team Rankings (62 TR rankings for SLU) Vegas line favors SLU to win by 16.5 pts with the full 5 star confidence rating. The pregame performance stats for SLU are better than GWs in both offense and defense. Again an independent evaluation with different methodology supporting the Wiz's evaluation. Taj79
I can't see Fordham avoiding another PIG. They are always short players and lost Daye to transfer. Now Chuba Ohams is out having missed the Dayton and Davidson games. They have two wins and even if Ohams comes back, their only "winnable" games left appear to be hoe games against La Salle and Geedubya, assuming losses on all road contests. That gives them 4 wins in conference. They are currently tied with St. Joe's and Geedubya but the Joeys have looked extremely better overall and Geedubya has more talent with Linmdo, Bamisile and Bishop. They are one game ahead of Duquesne, Umass and La Salle. Can't see them doing it.

Taj79
Saw the whole affair. The oen thing missed in all the computations is Fordham has always been a decent defensive team. They have had to be. Without offense, they relied on defense and still do. Dayton is a young team, we all know that. Smith is a true freshman. Elvis played little at DePaul. Ditto Brea. I'm telling you that short of dunking, Holmes hasn't shown much in terms of overall ball skills but still you don't want your 6'10" center playing point guard. Neither Amzil nor Blakeney nor even Camari are ballhandlers as bigs. But Fordham pressed and forced him to do it. Weaver didn't play a minute last night; don't know why. With that youth in the backcourt, Fordham forced 18 turnovers. Therein lies the recipe for beating Dayton. Fordham won the turnover battle 18 to 10. Fordham got hammered on fouls 17 to 8. Fordham made six more threes than Dayton. Dayton buried them on the boards 44 to 24. Elvis and Brea, who had career games against us and the Bonnies, tallied 4 and 5. Smith was dreadful from three going 1 of 4. Even the color guy pointed out that Fordham was letting him drive because he needs to develop a shot. Holmes made 8 shots but all were dunks/layups again. My buddy was in Aruba at the casino. He had Dayton -13.5. Loser.

3star_recruit
When I look at the players that have thrived in Shaka's system over the years, I see point guards who can defend, shooting guards who can shoot and 6'7 forwards who can score inside and out. I don't see anybody like Markhi.

Not to nitpicky, but this is not "missed in all the computations". All of the numbers I've seen support exactly what you say above, that Fordham is currently and always has been a decent defensive team.
